Tool Seven of PA:  Avoid Perfectionism:

Procrastinators have a tendency to spend more time on a task than it warrants, so tasks that should be quick to do take an agonizingly long time. Notice this tendency and stop yourself. Some things require completion, not perfection.

Have a great proactive day!

It's "that time" of the week. . .

Sign up to be a meeting anchor! The meeting is on Sunday June 24th at 3:00 PM New York Time (there is a handy page that says all the different times in different countries too)

Beat the heat, turn up the AC, and come online to chat with your fellow PAers!

Sign up sheet is here:

it's at 3:30 pm Sundays NewYork DaylightSavingsTime

(It's at 3:30, not 3:00)
I know that was just a typo.

Many sincere thanks to Katia for the service of giving us the weekly reminder that we need people to sign up!

Encouragement to all

Journey 10 am

Working from home today after a day off yesterday. I really enjoyed the day off but I lost my MP3 player at the park and I'm really annoyed with myself about it. It's not a fancy one and not that expensive but I really liked it and I can't believe I just lost it. Obviously my brain has still not recovered from the past few weeks . . .I know my memory suffers when I'm overtired so I'll just buy myself a new one on the 1st and take this as a message from HP that it's ok to take it easy for another day.

I worked out at home, I did the 'hard' workout video that I was doing before I injured my thumb (which is much better). I didn't make it all the way through the whole 45 minutes though - I stopped at about 30 minutes. *whew*. and then . .. I have to admit I have been drifting into space for the last hour or so! I will make todo list, post it here, and get to work! I will give myself permission to work a short day today - 7ish hours - but I have to get started now. Back soon with tdl.

and . . . i posted this on the wrong day to begin with!

Update 1:30 pm  Well it took me a loooooonnnnng time to get it together today.  I finally have my todo list.   I did some emails and meetings this morning but I didn't get a lot done and my brain has been totally spacy.  I have one more meeting this afternoon and other than that, my main objective is to review all my projects that have been on hold for 3 weeks.

  • Team meeting
  • resend data to vendor
  • review project CA
  • review project CAT
  • review project O
  • Review project V
  • Budget
  • Call mom - it's her 83rd bday!
  • Quiet time
  • take vitamins
  • read the foot book
  • fold a load of clothes
  • prepare for tomorrow and friday
  • do nails
  • review goals
  • make a quick dinner

The meeting and data sending thing will probably take about an hour each - the other activites I will limit to about 15 minutes each.  That should put me being finished at about 7:30 and then I intend to rest and relax and be IN THE BED AT 930PM

Embrace the suck!

Hypatia's check-in

I was beginning to enjoy my work again, but yesterday my doctor increased my antidepressants (for good reason), and today I'm having real problems concentrating. My target is purely going to be completing the reports on today's family.

Steppin check in

My apartment looks like hell on a bad day, so I need to:
Get started on a clean up.

Misc tasks:
Transfer payment
Find bike key
Call opticer

Goal keys:
Hit the gym
Get ready for one more practice session
