pro's last check-in - 10:10pm

I'm forcing myself away from the computer now. Right now I need to be resting, going to sleep early. Tomorrow I can finish the setup.

I need to learn to stop time bingeing - to do multi-day tasks at a sane pace.

pro's CI - 10pm

I'm ready for bed, but I'm still installing software. I have trouble letting go of things. But it would be very good for me to get to bed early tonight. I can finish this tomorrow. I couldn't finish it tonight without staying up all night, anyway.

It's hard for me to not time binge on tasks that take longer than a day. I'm not good at letting things go. But having made this observation, this will be the last program I install tonight.

pro's CI - 8:15pm

I'm going to install Microsoft Office, and then get ready for bed. I'm not well. I just want to lie down.

I haven't been sleeping enough the last several nights - that probably has something to do with it.

pro's CI - 6:30pm

I haven't been outside today, and I don't think I'm going. I don't feel well - I have no energy. I doubt there's any interesting mail today, anyway.

pro's CI - 1:20pm

I'm installing the notebook drivers manually from the recovery CD. That's better because the recovery process installs a lot of junk I don't want.

still at it

Restoring the drivers, applications, and data to my notebook is going to take me all day. It's slow going.

I don't feel well. I'm chilly, achy, and weak. I think I may be getting sick. I got a flu shot, so I shouldn't be getting the flu.

hmmmm...

Maybe I should have used the recovery CD to reformat the hard disk and reinstall Windows since that has all the notebook drivers on it. Well, I can still do that. All that's happening now is my hard disk is being reformatted.

technical difficulties

When I boot from the floppy, my hard drive isn't seen. I need some sort of driver for it that I don't have.

It's always something...

trying something else

Now I'm booting from the setup CD, and trying to remember how to get to the command prompt. There's a way, but the first thing I tried didn't work.

it's reformatting

I couldn't get to a command prompt from within the Windows setup program, but I was able to get it to reformat my hard disk by deleting and recreating the partition. It's reformatting now.

I forgot to put together all the drivers I need for this computer. Oh well. At this point I'm so sick of the thing freezing all the time, I feel like throwing it out.

pro's first check-in - 11am

I did my morning routine before having breakfast, so that's good. But I'm absolutely DRAGGING today. My body feels weak and stiff. I'm also very down.

I need to prepare a to-do list for the day.

8:45 CI from Lark

Lots of things to do today, so I'm going to try to be efficient.
1. morning routine
2. Take a few minutes to clean up the house. (This is getting easier.)3. Do the rest of my accounting which didn't get done yesterday.
4. Put up the three pieces of insulation from the pile on the cellar floor.
5. Install the new drawer pulls in the kitchen
6. Take time to put everything away in the workshop I don't need to use.
7. Present my customer with his figures. (I hope that goes well.)
8. Complete the next section of my work project.
9. Attach the new storage cabinet onto the cellar wall.

Wrapping up the day !2.25 AM Saturday

Ta Da

condolences

Sorry to hear it, Rexroth. Please take care of yourself.

I'm sorry to hear that.

Please post whenever you feel like talking. Take care.

Thank you friends.

My Mum lived on the other side of the world from the UK and my brother who lives there as well with his family are dealing with everything so there is nothing for me to do. Mum was an athiest and did not want any sort of funeral or ceremony, religious or otherwise, nor did she want me to travel over. We are respecting this and that is it.

So I just get on with things.

Goodnight for now Rexroth

funerals

It would be very hard for me to not go to the funeral of my mother - no closure. Funerals are for the living. I don't know how you feel about traveling to where she died, but I'd say that your feelings about it matter more than hers at this point. If you don't want to go, that's one thing. But if you do, I'd go no matter what anyone said.

Thanks pro

Thank you Pro. What you write is both wise and compassionate. Truth is there is not going to be any kind of funeral, or gathering or anything else. So there is nothing for me to go, or not go to. Spoke to friend last night who said 'you need your own ceremony mate' so I will in due time.

Regards Rexroth
