Fermiona - recap
Write my to-do list for tomorrowGood job!
Good job on the things that you did get done. Maybe I will try the 20+5 system tomorrow. Today I worked for 25 minutes and breaked for five when I actually worked on my project.
Slow progress
Did pretty well yesterday, even managed to advance on (not finish, of course) two overdue big projects. That felt positive. However, today is a different story. One morning meeting, one afternoon meeting, and the day has slipped away from me. My mind is out of the stall and racing around. Part of it is in response to the relative discipline imposed yesterday, I imagine, but more significant components are stress, fatigue, and the difficulty I always have regrouping my thoughts after meetings. I can't believe it's 6 PM. Well, time to see what I can accomplish by 8 PM and get out of here.
re: when is it too late...never ;)
Hi SaraJoy. Welcome!
one of the things i came around to thinking in this fellowship is that it's never too late.
There are phrases like "today is the first day of the rest of your life." I have adapted that for myself in my recovery as: "this minute is the first minute of the rest of my life."
I have had days at work where i've wasted all day, until the last 20 min. And i have come to this fellowship, repented to God, and made the best use of the remaining 20 min.
Another phrase from this fellowship is: "i can always create the best catch-up plan." Ie, after procrastinating.
It is very liberating to me to believe that, no matter what has happened in the past, no matter how much time wasted, right now i can start being as productive as i can with the time i have left.

Thank You
Thanks so much for your kind words. I really appreciate, "I can always create the best catch up plan". I think that will be really useful to me as I continue my journey.
Very helpful!
Oh Boy...Sarah Joy 1:05 pm MST
Question: When is it too late? Sometimes I struggle with looking at the clock, and thinking "there is no hope for me today!", but I know that is not true. I still have 6 more hours before my hubby comes home for work. I have time. I don't have to panic...
Check in at 4:05 p.m.: Having a REALLY hard time starting this editing project... grr!!
Check in at 4:44 p.m.: I finished 25 minutes of editing! Now, let's see if I can do 25 more! :)
Gah, the darn editing project. The largest frog... I should have just started with it and kept going... But I am not going to berate myself for what I didn't get done because I really was able to focus for quite some time and even got more done in some areas than in others.
Thanks for all of your support everyone!
In that time, I am going to:
(Done=in this color)
1. Get dressed.
2. Make bed.
3. Start a load of laundry.
4. Start working on an editing project (25 minutes, break for 5, 25 minutes, break for five). FINALLY!!!! YAY ME!!! Now, if only I could combine the 25 minute times together...
5. Move laundry to dryer; more laundry in wash.
6. Editing (25/5, 25/5)
7. Fold clothes; laundry to dryer; laundry to wash.
8. Editing (25/5, 25/5)
9. Fold clothes; laundry to dryer; laundry to wash.
10. Editing (25/5, 25/5)
11. Fold clothes/Look at dinner recipe/start dinner preparation.
12. Editing (25/5, 25/5)
13. Get dinner ready for my hard working/handsome hubby! (Basically all done. Just need to do a few things to serve it, but it is in the oven, baking away! :))
14. Feed the birdies.
15. Send K info...
16. Spend time with my hard working/handsome hubby.
17. In bed by 10... read until 10:30. Sleepy Sleep!--Nope, but I am going to bed sooner tonight than I did last night. PROGRESS!!!
Also:
1. Answer SUPER important work emails.
2. Pack hubby's lunch for tomorrow.
3. Take vitamins.
4. Dishes.
5. Start chicken stock from left overs.

11:43.
alredy went to the jim, had so-so quiet time. I do trust the lord will give me the strength to do what i have to do today, but that's about it.
i checked emerg email and clean up my stuff.
now to make sched and figure out MIT and/or step 1 and do it.
I feel tired, so i just have to slug thru my work.
I feel very ecnouraged to hang out w/ y'all.
2:10pm
i remembered a very important MIT--a presentation i have to give tomorrow. And i prepared for it. And it was easier than expected. Not just easier than i feared (which happens all the time) but easier than my rational self expected. That's a great blessing for me today.
Now instead of resting on my laurels, i think i'll use the tools and get going on the next-up MIT. chat, here i come...
5:15pm:
picked up the kids, after working fairly well.
It's been a day of weakness drawing strength from HP via this fellowship and the tools here to get me thru.
And that is how i'll continue. Next-up task...
fall down seven times, get up eight - japanese proverb
Steppin check in
To do:
Shower and get dressedReturn library material
Practice hymnsPractice choralPractice concert piece
Write short preludes
Practice piano prelude
Get started on fugue
I have worked my myself into kind of a jam again, but I'll have to work through my anxiety and get as much done as possible.
HighwaysSlave -- 9:31
Okay, what I have left to do today is...
1) Practice piano for at least 3 preferably 4 hours.
2) Practice flute for at least 1 hour
3) Pick up the corrections on my purpose statement
4) Get my poetry class books purchased, and poetry homework done.
5) If no time for a proper house cleaning, at least go through and neaten up the bits of clutter that have accumulated, so everything is neat again.
6) attend my piano lesson at 1:30
7) attend appointment at 2:45
Okay, update on how I did. My re-check ins may be at odd times because the computer is one of my big procrastination traps, so I have to be very careful about how and when I use it.
I did get practice on both instruments, not nearly as much as I would have liked, but getting my statement took much longer than I thought it would.
I did get my purpose statement, and I did get my poetry reading done, still need to do the writing assigment, but I still have a little time to do that.
Thanks to that, I did NOT get the decluttering done, that is first on the docket today.
Tried to attend the extra piano lesson (usually on Thursdays) but found he was with another student and the time was blocked off on his schedule...must have gotten the wrong time?
Did get to my appointment at 2:45
kromer 9:55
Today I need to
*Make presentation (this is my big task for the day)
*Ask about hotel reimbursement
*Finish planning for girls group
*Section
*Check on expts
*W18 plan, if I have time
*Insulate a window, if I have time
OK, starting by working on presentation

self-esteem. We do not have to lie; we do not have to be dishonest with

instead of limiting the future by today's feelings and circumstances.
Journey 6:15 am & update
Good morning! Thanks for starting us out Fermiona and I hope that exam goes well for you.
Yesterday was a pretty good day. It was a holiday for me, and I caught up on housework. Today back to work with a (relatively) clean house! It's amazing how much better I feel when my house is clean and neat (ish).
I have an important conference call at 7:30 so I'm gonna get my exercise in before that meeting. I have a dr. appt at 10, so I am hoping to get my exercise, meeting, and todo list done before leaving for the doctor. I'm going to sneak in a library visit on the way back from the doc.
12:30 back from doctor and had a healthy lunch. Now having troubled getting back into the groove. Checking in to get back on track, here we go . . .
