Agnus's "omg-what-have-I-done-this-time" list

Sigh....I'm back.  It is like seeing an old friend, complete with worrying how much older/worse I might look to them than the last time we met!  Much as I hate being a bad example, I am logging on to share the disarray into which I've fallen after months without PA.  It really is a "We" program.  My previous participation helped me dig out of a terribly deep pit, to which I've not returned.  But I'm definitely on a slippery slope.  With God's help I will begin again, humbly asking Him to remove my denial that I have this terrible dis-ease of compulsive procrastination, and that it's not a cute little character defect anymore.  It is a life-sucking monster that is trying to keep me focused on my own belly button, distract me from being of service to God and my fellows, and drag me down a spiraling avalanche of failures into complete uselessness.

I ain't goin'!

Thank God for this website and fellowship and program. Just from being here and reading a half-dozen posts, I already feel so much better. Here's my current backlog list:

Guess that's it for now - enough? Yeah, I think so. But of course more will be added as I wade through the papers and notebooks and email Inbox, which has regained its bad-habit status as my unofficial to-do list.  Sigh.  I just keep sighing....but now I am off to Chat, to begin....thank you, HP. Thank you, PA.

ag's omg-list update

Hopefully I'll be on vacation at the half-year mark from this initial post, so just want to get a handle on where I am now, compared to January.

At the time my backlog list was:
Planning: go through these sources and add tasks to this list in their respective categories-
Notebook 1
Notebook 2
Email Inbox
Piles on left side of desk (work stuff)
Piles on right side of desk (personal stuff)
I did go through and add/sort tasks in an orderly fashion. But I never did complete Notebooks 1 and 2, and somehow nothing was ever said by the boss or client.  However, it really doesn't feel good to have "gotr away with it this time" - feels like that just feeds my dis-ease.  Nothing can be done about it at this point, though - the project ended over a month ago.

Then I perceived these as my priorities:
Planning: Clear work area -
Put loose papers into labeled folders
File the binders that are piled on the piano bench
Clear off the piano keyboard area

...and I did 'em (although the piano keyboard has filled up with new stuff...)

This project is done - I'd give myself a C+ on it:
PROJECT W:
report from Cin
report from Pa
webinar1 review and feedback
webinar2 - slides, talking points, presenters (who will contact whom?)

This project also has completed now - I give myself a B+ - I was often late on reports but my production was consistently good and occasionally stellar in the client's eyes:
PROJECT C:
Finish re-sorting the month-by-month draft and deliver to S
Write and deliver TA report for December
Write and deliver jp site visit report
Set up jj-cmg call
Set up call with Hkids guy
Call feds
Weekly call with both

Another project that completed awhile ago - a C for me - I never turned in those notebooks and was quite resistant to one client rep (he got fired at the end of the project anyway - nothing to do with me - but I could have tried harder to work with him):
PROJECT R
TA Report for December
OIC site visit report never did this
Call feds
Weekly call

This project just ended - I give myself an A here.  The scope of work kept changing and I stayed as resilient as could be, then when it exceeded my skillset I facilitated the client in finding a staff PM whom I consulted through to completion.
PROJECT B
Reserve webinar platform
Confirm date for ct cmty mtng
Call board
Call DW
Call the missing-agreement sites
Write biweekly report
Write talking points for L at board meeting
Write talking points for P and me, same
Prepare handouts for board mtng (R2 training sked, 2 agreement forms)
Get clear on 211 piece and communicate

I'm updating this with crossouts to see where I stand now on these non-work tasks:
PERSONAL PROJECTS -
Get recommended new dog food
Sign TJ up for eye/heart exams
Make amends to the dog club lady
Book TJ for follow-up shots
Book TJ and Bear to new vet center to try out
Complete my application to be a patient of Dr Mora
Book myself a chiropractor appointmt
Call Loni for TJ’s photos
Complete all insurance and FSA claims for 2011 - never did this - lost about $1200 :-(
Join dog clubs
Get J on new credit union accounts
Catch up paying J’s med bills, starting with those in collections
Reconcile J’s med bills against EOBs
Enter debits - did then but now have a whole new pile to sort and enter
Clear paperwork backlog - ditto, new pile now but not as bad as it was then, thank goodness
Tax prep for 2011
Order gifts for L wedding and shower

Make a decision on the corporate 2008 taxes
I made a decision but have not acted on it yet.

It's useful to look back 6 months to these Master Lists and see where I've come and where I still need to go.  I'll create a new Master List soon for the second half of the year.

Be confident.  Stay focused.   One thing at a time.

Thanks for sharing and thanks being here again.

There was a time i PRAYED, GOD, PLEASE.....................GIVE ME ANYTHING ELSE BUT PLEASE................DON'T LET ME GO BACK INTO  ......X..Y.........Z (MY BIG 3). Well God is faithful, he has never let me down. Here I am, a grateful procrastinator, because this issue KEEPS ME ON MY KNEES, AND GOD KNOWS THAT IS WHERE I BEONG, LOOKING Up.(not to mention having the opportunity and priviledge to mix with the most wonderful people who "understand" and together carry the message, like you)
