my ONE big thing for today...
Today I will treat my lovely wife with kindness, not only because it is our anniversary, but also because she deserves it, big time!
clement post-christmas ci
so i love being in recovery. The "vacation" time between christmas and new years almost every year has been a procrastination-fest. With no structure i just do whatever happens to catch my eye at the moment, do it for hours and hours, get distracted.
Then, after the vacation, i look back on plans i had for fun, family time, hobby tasks i haven't had time for all year, and i miss them. I dont feel refreshed from the break.
But this year, i have tools. I wonder if i posted around this time in past years. lemme check...
...ah yes. christmas day was bad last year. Now i remember. Much better this year. Thank you LORD!!!
no, i did not post between christmas and new years in 2010 nor 2009. I may have chatted tho.
So 2011 may be progress, and is in other ways at least. I will have fun, and have relaxation time, family time, and not let my problem squander that away. Lord willing.
I am sooooo blessed to have the knowledge that i can procrastinate, even when i have nothing to do! So many years of my life i did not know that!
Merry Christmas everyone!

x make at least a microstep of progress on something from business or "stitch in time" sub-lists (mended swing sweater)
x 15 minutes Qi Gong
x bedtime Rx

assess laundry, do for tomorrow
Best Wishes for your day!
Back at it
Made progress Saturday and Sunday, and today is a quiet day. The office is closed, but apparently others in the building are open. For me, it's nice and peaceful, as I continue plugging away, trying to finish for 2011 so I can take my overdue (what else?) vacation.
Goal 1: Crank away at cases, up to 15 or up to 30 minutes per case, depending upon complexity. My dual intention is to try hard to *finish* what I can today, yet stay *within* the time constraints. I have tomorrow to finish up whatever is still pending after today, but would really like to leave the day to work on the long overdue big projects, then wrap up and be ready for vacation on Wednesday. That would still give me a week, rather than the 11 days originally planned, but a week of vacation to end the year is still pretty sweet. Just have to get there.
Goal 2: Leave by 8:30 PM. Tomorrow is a regular day, and even if I am coming in on my day off, I don't want to stroll in late. Better to get in at a regular time and leave as soon as I can. Realistically, I am likely to stay here all day. But that's alright. I am feeling at peace with it at the moment. Want to stay in that flow as long as I can.
Back to report.
Journey Happy Boxing Day 11 am
Holiday is over, so I'm feeling kind of happy/sad/relieved/depressed. I thought about going to the gym but couldn't face it so I worked out with a cardio video at home and I feel a bit more energetic now. I'm going to get dressed now, do some laundry and dishes and generally straighten the house after having company. My daugher and her roommate are grownups now but they are still quite messy lol. You'd think after cleaning her own kitchen for a couple of years she would have learned to put dirty dishes in the sink but I guess not.
Be confident. Stay focused. One thing at a time.
my ONE big thing for today...
Today, I will NOT eat between meals. If tempted to eat between meals today, I will either text or call someone(s) using my cell phone until the thought/urge to eat between meals subsides. Thanks.
