Thanks tracy-la and clement

Appreciate your comments from Monday, clement, they are spot on. Planning too far into the future only adds to my stress. I am always over-optimistic with a poor sense of time. Better to make a short-term plan, work at it, then re-assess, than to think way ahead unrealistically and, worse, become attached to that benchmark. Not to say I shouldn't plan at all, just that I have to concentrate on where I am now.

I am here to check in and "anchor" myself because I am feeling overwhelmed at the moment. I have multiple pending tasks swirling around me at work, so that I am in a bit of a tizzy. Comforting to see tracy-la's post from earlier. Yes, indeed, the source of the mental maelstrom is me, not the tasks. Time to get onto the narrow path, which works for me when I allow it to.

Goal 1: 6 cases, up to 30 minutes each.

Goal 2: Re-assess

Back to report.

god came thru!

wow! i just had an incredible outpouring of grace. I was trying to work, and feeling down, and i just could not face it. I knew i needed some time alone with god to refresh. But i just couldnt bring myself to do it. work seemed too important. But i was just completely stuck, so i did.

And what did i read?

Yet the news about him spread all the more, so that crowds of people came to hear him and to be healed of their sicknesses. But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.

Wow. that was EXACTLY what i was doing! I had withdrawn to my bedroom, quiet, peaceful, alone, to read the bible. If it was good enuf for Jesus, it's good enuf for me ;P To think that even jesus needed that time alone to reconnect with God, it totally validates my needing it too. That really encouraged me.

As fellow procrastinators, who are so often behind and stressed, i hope that you all can take some quiet time alone to reconnect with your source and reflect on the most meaningful things in your life this season!

READING FOR THE DAY

What do i do when i'm overwhelmed?

When we imagine (perceive) that we are overwhelmed by outside events (or options, or tough choices, or situations, or ways of making mony, etc.) it is an illusion, because the brain doesn't even function that way.

Only a thought believed can produced a feeling of overwhelm.

In a simple life in which you only do what's in front of you, there can be no overwhelm, ever.

That life is yours to create. And it never just arrives, it must be created.
