The Magic of Gratitude and Acceptance

Gratitude
and acceptance are two magic tricks available to us in recovery. No
matter who we are, where we are, or what we have, gratitude and
acceptance work.

Today, God, help me
let go of my resistance. Help me know the pain of a circumstance will
stop hurting so much if I accept it. I will practice the basics of
gratitude and acceptance in my life, and for all my present
circumstances.

can't get myself to exercise. and i have a limited window, then it starts impacting work and/or the rest of the day. Could not get myself to pray.

could get myself to come here and read. did not get distracted by that, which is grace. could get myself to post. And am feeling like i can get myself to read the steps which feels like it will work. so i'll do that.

Journey 7 am

Working from home today.   I'm still feeling tired and I'm stressing over Thanksiving.   I got the house very clean and neat last week and was hoping to keep it that way but the grandkids derailed that idea lol.   It's not too bad though, just needs a little straightening up, everything is still basically clean.  I can re-straighten a little bit at a time during work breaks.

I'm going to exercise at home today, I slept a bit late and don't feel like getting myself to the gym, so I'll do a video I've been wanting to try.  Then I'll eat something, make my todo list and post the MITs here.   I did finish the prep work for the X request last night, but it didn't compile, so I've gotta find my mistake and rerun it first thing.   Otherwise, it'll pretty much be the same MITs as yesterday since I spent most of the day on the X request and being evacuated because of smoke in the building.

Update 8:30 exercised and had breakfast.  The video was actually too easy for me but that was probably good for today since, like Rex, I also woke up "grumpy, exhausted, fed up, tired, weak and so on ".   Now to change into clothes suitable for working from home, and make my todo list.   Back with MITs shortly.

MITs

  • Finish X request -
  • Beth's request
  • QA implementation plan - started
  • Order A's bday present
  • Call mom about T'giving - dang forgot and now it's too late
  • allow an hour or two for trouble calls about three hours today
  • (re-) straigthen dining room
  • make dinner
  • do dishes not enough dishes to bother with, did a load of laundry instead

Update 5:30 I'm about to call it a day as far as work goes.   I'm not feeling 100% and I want to get some other things done this evening so I'll get back to the work stuff in the morning.  I spent more time than I had allowed on trouble calls, but that's ok because that is my top priority this week, as I'm on call duty.

Check out 9:15 pm.  Not too bad, considering I started the day feeling kinda puny.
