Finding a way check in

Thursday 10 am

Thank you for starting the forum, lennon.

Starting over again today. Monday was also a new start for me and I did some work on establishing routines, which then fell in a heap because I developed an addiction to a computer game Embarassed. I still got some things done but not much. Yesterday started to face up to what and why I was avoiding some tasks, and have resolved some emotional issues.

Today - I made a list last night and will do my best to follow it. The computer game will be my reward only when everything is done (not ready to go cold turkey!).

And I commit now to logging in here again between 6 and 7 pm to report back on how I did. There are 12 items on my list.

Thank you all for being here. I still often read posts for support even when I don't post myself.

Checking back 6.50 pm. Sometimes it was hard today but pleased I did not go too badly. Have done 9 of the 12 items; had to cancel one item because another one I had not planned had to be done urgently. Two cleaning jobs left, still hope to get one done.

And have not touched the computer game all day!!

almost over the hump!!

Good productive day yesterday and today back to work! Very tired now tho, and would love to take a nap...but still have a little more that I need to do at home before the day ends so I will...

Journey 10:45

drive by checkin - late start at work this morning, had a vet appt. at 9:00.   I swear it cost $100 more every year for the yearly checkup.   Anyway, we're vaccinated, medicated and de-fleaed.  I've exercised and read email, now for to do list.   I had an ok day yesterday.   I was unfocused and distracted, but I got a reasonable amount done.   Coulda been better.   Today I will endeavor to do better!

OK, for today I'm really stressed out b/c I'm moving tomorrow

I guess I need to do the following:
*Try PAS staining of sections
*Email P (will do this soon)
*Look into Oct4, cadherin (will do this soon)
*Reserve poster time, update calendar
*Genotype (will do this soon)
*Return library books, donate books, order pony clamps (working on this now), post on freecycle, address changes (working on this now)
*Last-minute packing
*mop etc. room, closet, and kitchen
*Update MK records (working on this now)
*Go to GC mtg

*Financial stuff

OK, that's doable! All of these are pretty mindless, which is nice for a day when I'm feeling panicked. I'll start with MK records, poster time, calendar, pony clamps, freecycle, genotyping, emailing P

Scribbler's Wednesday CI 8:22 a.m.

Yesterday was bad in some ways and good in others. I had a subpar day as far as work productivity, failing to complete two projects I'd hoped to finish in advance of going on vacation for a few days starting today. That wasn't so good. But I also ran across somebody in the online discussion world who is so unpleasant that I'm disinclined to even venture back there. (Also, I think the experience showed me how unpleasant I was being.) So hopefully I'll be able to avoid that activity, which has been the most persistent promoter of procrastination in my life lately.

I'm thinking perhaps next week, when I return to work after the long weekend for the Labor Day holiday, I'll start posting a task list here again. The experiment with not doing that gave me some good information, chiefly the information that I may not be ready to stop doing this.

Anyway, I'll be out for a few days. I hope all are well. Thanks for being here.

Hypatia's check-in

Good morning all!  Thanks for the starter, Lennon

Yesterday I was able to work pretty hard without checking in.  Today, I'm freezing because I've got no excuses for not writing my reports.  So i't sback to the chatbox, and lets see how far I can get.

  • dictate last week's reports #1 #2 #3 #4 #5
  • renew car tax disk
  • read papers for the afternoon work
  • dictate today's reports
  • clear in-tray
  • weekly(!) review
