Happy Birthday to the Scribbler!

fudoshin: checkin: 1:07pm
Please do not leave advice. Thank you. Prayers welcome.
I had a sick day today, because I didn't get to some self-care items that I needed to get done. I had and still have a lot to do outside of work. I felt uncomfortable in the work environment, and need a safe palce to voice my feelings, i.e. here and inother twelve step program.
I need to get real. For this reason, on weeknights or weekdays (Monday through Thursday) rather. It would help me to do the following: once it's 12am I want to limit myself to the following on Monday through Thursday:
* work
* school work
* brushing my teeth, flossing, using listerine, using the endtufted brush
* finishing up with exercise, which really ought to happen before midnight each night
* writing in my diary or doing writing for twelve step
* reading my affirmations and goals
I must get up at 7:50am each morning in order to get to work on time, brush my hair, eat breakfast, take vitamins, brush my teeth, take a shower (if I did not in the evening) and drive to AV. These are things that need to happen in order for me to be successful. I also need to set a timer when I get to work so that I do not go over nine hours of work in a single day. If I have an appointment or a twelve step meeting, I need to leave the place of work 45 minutes before the appointment. If I need to use the restroom. I need to give myself the extra five minutes necessary to do that before heading out the door.

Thanks for the rose, Rosebud. And thanks to everybody who participates in this thread. I'm not sure why it helps, but it does. The year or so that I have been participating here probably represents the longest spell of actively and successfully battling procrastination that I've put together in many years. Thanks again.
Today is my 55th birthday and I'm going to start it by indulging in a 5-mile run around the lake before it gets too hellishly hot. That will put back the start of my productive day an hour or so. But that's okay. Heck, I'm a senior citizen now. I deserve some slack!

Happy Birthday Scribbler!
You are a mere youngster yet! We don't count anyone as a senior citizen until they are 60.

Need to conserve energy today b/c I had to pull an all-nighter - fruits of last winter's procrastination coming home to roost. Plus my dear difficult client advised me tuesday that even though we officially have until July 31, she must have all my deliverables today because she is going on vacation next week.
I can't tell you how much this sort of thing does for my prayer life, lol! I have been repeating Steps prayers, Serenity Prayer, the Sick Man prayer, even rosary prayers!

I've been tired and disorganized this week. I;m taking hubby for a follow up appt. this afternoon but he is feeling much better. He is feeling well enough to get on my nerves lol.
I have a lot to do in the next two days to be ready for this weekend and to make some progress on my new project. These tasks are quite doable though if I can stay focused. I officially have permission to work from home the rest of the week and I might do so even if hubby goes back to work tomorrow - because if I go into the office I have to attend a 3 hour meeting in the morning. It's cheating a little but I might do it. After all, he might need me to come and rescue him if he gets sick at work right? I'll make that decision after I see how much work I can get done today. If I am ready for this weekend and if I have the order done for the new project, I'll go into the office, go to the meeting and go out to lunch with the crew. Otherwise, I'm staying home and doing heads down work all day. We'll see. I feel better now that i have confessed this to you guys haha.
right now I need to go update my calendars with out of the office for approved WFH - they are pretty strict about keeping up with who is working from home and why. Which is a good thing. I'll make my tdl and attend a 9:30 meeting and then check back.
