Procrastinators Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from chronic procrastination.
Yesterday did not log in but put in a good day's work at my client's office. Today is a different story; I have my sons and the girlfriend of one of them visiting - university holidays - stayed up late with them then slept in and tired this morning. It is very distracting, but at the same time I am very happy they are here - just wish I could take off lots more time to be with them.
So today I have: gone to health appt, done monthly accounts and invoice, made lunch, washed up a big load of dishes and talked with family.
I use this site as my "sponsor" kind of like checking in and become willing to be willing. After I got my laptop back, I was sort of out of the habit of checking in and did not "want to" get back to it. I ask myself why would I not "want to" do something that would help me and in turn others? It is all very strange, i guess that "dark side" of me is part of the human condition, always there. Accepting my "human condition" has always helped move past it.
Hi guys! So I haven't *really* been procrastinating, I've been taking it easy! I finished my first year of college FINALLY and have been enjoying some much needed time with my son, who is now crawling!
But I should probably get some things done. It is very overwhelming for me sometimes.
I hope everyone is doing well- haven't kept up with everyone's lives here, so I really hope things are going well!
Things to do today

We will see where I am at with the running around later.
11 AM: Didn't meet objectives on Day 1. Still too far behind at work, got started too late with new action plan, didn't feel comfortable leaving so much undone to leave 'on time'. As usual, it had a domino effect. If I stay late, I have little time to devote to myself, and I end up getting to bed late, which makes getting up early very difficult. Today is a fresh start. I didn't get here early (9:15 AM), but it's still early enough to make some real progress and try again to leave early. No meetings scheduled, fortunately.
Objectives: Met?
No unnecessary internet at work: Yes
Email 4x work/2x home: No (>4 work)/ Yes (<=2 home)
Work 12 hours max: No
Daily personal time: Minimal reading at bedtime
Sleep 8 hours min: No
Early to rise: No (7 AM)
Early to work: No (9:15 AM)
Early putting plan into action: No (11 AM)
Goals for today remain the same, hitting 'reset' and starting *now*, since I have already reflexively checked email a couple of times. Bad habits are hard to break.
Also will work in 30 minute increments and return to time tracking with a timer. I have lost this discipline lately, but I think it really helps when I do it.
Today is a busy day! Yesterday was kind of unproductive, so I feel like I'm starting my work-week behind. And, I slept late today (I'd gotten very little sleep the night before, and stayed up late last night, so it was a reasonable decision I think, but still frustrating.
I'll try to keep my list manageable to counteract that feeling of failure:
*Email Lis and Ken and Cait
*Order PK
*Give TE slides
*Update MK records
*Collect x3
*Plan out probe PCRs
*Notes from yesterday's mtgs
*Check plugs, setup
*Financial stuff
I'd like to do more, but I think that's actually a reasonable start.
I like the falling leaf starter, Hypatia. Our trees look like that now because it's so hot and dry they're getting stressed out. I'm moderately stressed because I have to do some financial handsprings today to try to avoid overdrawing my checking account. I will also take steps to dun the people who owe me money, in addition to generating new invoices, looking for new assignments, and so on. I'd like to go for a run, but may wait until tomorrow. You have to go early or run in 100 degrees F. So...
