Thursday 16th June

Welcome to Thursday

Another day of doing

hope4meandu day 0 here, day 0 at work

Thanks Rexroth for starting!!

Yoffee was in the hospital last Saturday for 3 days. She's thankfully better. Haven't been to work the whole week or done anything, except helped a friend with her children's ballet performance. Wish I wasn't so nervous at the show, last year was better. Really wasn't as available emotionally because of Yoffee.

Not going in to work tomorrow. Don't have much $, my husband was cursing at me this a.m. because of not working. I'm scared.

LOVE TO ALL!!!

Hi everyone! This is my

Hi everyone! This is my first check-in. :)

Okay, I'd like to work on the project I'm in the middle of when I have the chance, and will time myself while doing so to get an accurate reading of exactly how much time I'm spending on it. My daily goal is 4 hours, but I'd be happy with just 2.

That's it. Starting simple.

Thanks! :)

check-out

Thanks, Journey! :)

So here's my progress report on yesterday:

Spent almost 2 hours on the project, when I'm pretty sure I completely wasted another 2 on my internet addiction. :P To look on the bright side, however, I'm actually somewhat glad I actually worked on it for 2 hours (which I even said I'd be happy with!!!). Not sure if I made all that much progress during those 2 hours, but I'm deliberately trying not to race or force myway through it anyway.

omg i need this place so badly. I already feel more in control talking about it. THANKS!!!!!!

Daily panic

Every day mid to late morning, I am experiencing a circuit overload, as new cases and other inputs (phone calls, emails) pour in. It really throws me off balance and makes me want to escape to cnn.com or my email for a while. Since I am supposed to go out of town for a week on Saturday, I am feeling extra pressured to finish things, and my attention darts from one to another task lying before me, not actually working on any of them, just thinking about them. One of the most stressful things is having clients call me to ask for a "preliminary impression" of a case I haven't yet received! Should I work on something else? Should I keep checking my mailbox to see if it has arrived? What if I receive and look at their newest case first and call them back, only to have them ask a "by the way" question about another, older case of theirs I haven't looked at? I throw myself into an unproductive tizzy. I have to find a way to tamp down my "fight or flight" reaction to these kinds of stimuli. Okay, the new, 'high priority' case has arrived, so I need to hunker down and stick to the game plan, starting with this one. I have already let the morning go by.

Goal 1: 30 minutes x 3, starting with 'high priority' case

Goal 2: Break for lunch

Goal 3: 30 minutes x 8, breaking longer cases into pieces

Goal 4: Break for dinner

Goal 5: 30 minutes x 3 or 4

Goal 6: Leave by 9:30 PM (trying to split the difference between my desired leaving time and the actual time I am still leaving, which is after 10 PM; it's just not right)

Goal 7: Bed by 11 PM (same thing; if I say 10:30 PM, it turns out to be midnight; better to work it back gradually)

Back to report tomorrow, then a week off to work on other things in my life.

Scribbler's Thursday CI 10:34 a.m.

Stayed at girlfriend's, hence, late start today. I continue being pretty productive. I also continue not getting paid, so that now I'm very low on even credit, and have no cash. With kids coming this weekend, plus a short business trip starting tomorrow, I'm going to tap out my last credit line in the next few days. Not to mention I sent nothing to the IRS yesterday, the first time I can ever recall doing that when an estimated payment is due. It's hard to blame all this on procrastination. Sometimes events just don't go as planned. But I do have some things to do to try to collect, such as drafting a demand letter to my biggest debtor. And I have to keep writing and billing for articles, to try to keep this from happening next month. Off I go...

I'd say that's a reasonably aggressive task list. Now I have to go pick up the kids and cook dinner and have a little fun with them. Thanks to everybody for reading and posting. It seems to make a difference, for some reason.

Journey 10:10

Happy Thursday.  Back in the office, and I've been to the gym, read email, done my todo list AND attended a meeting.  *whew*  Yesterday was a excellent day, hoping to make today the same.

I have completed 1 of 7 MITs.  Stop!  Coffeetime!

11:10 2 of 7 complete

2pm 3 of 7 complete

3:45 4 of 7 complete; #5 is a quick one but a dreaded one - I need to call my mom.  I don't know why that should be so hard.  I love my mom, I just hate making phone calls.

4:06 phone call made.

4:45 6 of 7 complete.   I've also done a couple of lower priority quick items.  Working on #7 for 45 minutes then I'm outta here
