Show up (done).

AA ig Book, p 54/55

"Hence, we saw that reason isn't everything. Neither is reason, as most of us use it, entirely dependable, though it emanate from our best minds. What about people who proved that man could never fly? Yet we had been seeing another kind of flight, a spiritual liberation from this world, people who rose above their problems. They said God made these things possible, and we only smiled. We had seen spiritual release, but liked to tell ourselves it wasn't true. "

p57

" He has come to all who have honestly sought Him.

When we drew near to Him He disclosed Himself to us! "

READING

Perfectionism

Recovery from procrastination is an individual process that necessitates making
mistakes, struggling through problems, and facing tough issues.

Expecting ourselves to be perfect slows this process; it puts us in a guilty and
anxious state. Expecting others to be perfect is equally destructive; it
makes others feel ashamed and may interfere with their growth.

People are human and vulnerable, and that's wonderful. We can accept and
cherish that idea. Expecting others to be perfect puts us in that state of moral superiority. Expecting ourselves to be
perfect makes us feel rigid and inferior.

We can let go of both ideas.

We do not need to go to the other extreme; tolerating anything people
throw our way. We can still expect appropriate, responsible behavior
from ourselves and others.

But most of us can afford to loosen up a bit. And when
we stop expecting others to be perfect, we may discover that they're
doing much better than we thought. When we stop expecting ourselves to
be perfect, we'll discover the beauty in ourselves.

Today, I will practice tolerance, acceptance, and love of others as they are,
and myself as I am. I will strive for that balance between expecting too
much and expecting too little from others and myself.

MY BASICS:

1.  Exercise at 6 am or before [walked 1 hour/ran yesterday/signed up for bootcamp at 6 am 3x/week starting next Monday];

2.  Spend first 30 min of day on one of my top 6 tasks (before or just after am exercise);

3.  Write down my 6 most important tasks (if not done night before);

3.a. If already written, review my top 6 at beginning of day

4.  Check calendar AM (mine) (kids) / send email or text reminders if needed

5.  Check voicemail am/write down in master list

6.  Return calls am at blocked time 9:30 am or earlier / 11:30 a.m.-12:30 pm [did not do that];

7.  Manage A and send email reminders; Manage D and send email reminders

8.  Check voicemail 1:30/ 4:30 pm.  Return calls pm [4:30 - 5:30]

9.  Use master list throughout day -- update 9 am / 12 pm / 3 pm / 6 pm / 9 pm

10.  Use timer & track time through day - check in hourly 8 am / 9 am / 10 am / 11 am / 12 pm / 1 pm /  2 pm / 3 pm / 4 pm /  5 pm / 6 pm / 7 pm / 8 pm / 9 pm / 10 pm

11. Timesheet for day before

12. Checking in; support calls(1x); affirmations; gratitudes; reading;

13.  Check calendar PM [before I leave work at end of day or before bed]

14.  Add to master case list. Do top 6 list for next day

15. Listen to positive recording for 20 minutes

16. Mental mind bank at end of day.

Affirmations (said aloud as well):

I choose to show up and start my top 6 tasks, 15
to 30 minutes at a time. I complete my top 6 tasks -- in 15 to 30 minute
periods. If I feel any pain or discomfort while working on these tasks, I embrace the pain or feeling the pain while I do these tasks.

I know that if I have that old feeling of pain or
anxiety while I am working on my top 6  tasks- I will embrace and love that
pain since it means that I am doing something important.

And remember . . . if I am feeling
resistance or "shame" or "screwed up" or if I procrastinated at
something lately, it's probably just the Dynamics of Human Change doing
its checks & balances . . . I am going to keep going!

Have a terrific Thursday everyone,

I'll have to take a good look at it today. Another item I've done nothing on is my tax return. Ick. Oh, well. Onward...

Phylomon - Daily Check-in

Thank you hypatia for getting us started.

Reminding myself that these are MY tasks, MY choices really helped yesterday. I'm beginning to think that demand resistance is the root of my issues with procrastination. I just don't want anyone telling me to do anything!

Today my choices are:

- study SP

- NP research

- exercise
