Procrastinators Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from chronic procrastination.
Strategy: back to work at the table wiith laptop. I "feel" differently here, sort of like I "feel" different when I "show up" here, and it does help with the consistency of change, something small that I know I can do, which in turn grows.
I have had a great day! My main objectives for today were accomplished. They were:
* Fasting
* Abstinence
* Receiving Ashes
My trusty alarm clock (with fresh batteries) woke me up at 7:00 am and I hopped out of bed at 7:15 am! I actually made it to work on time!
I made the bed
I ate a small bowl of Special K
Took out the trash
Upon arrival to work, I completed email request right away
Made minestrone soup for lunch
Drank lots of water
Worked a full day (but NOT on my major PROJECT...)
Ate fish and mac&cheese dinner
Drove to church
Read from "The WORD among us"
Made phone call
Continued to read "The War of Art"
"Lord, the trumpet has sounded, and I want to respond. Help me to rend my heart this Lent, so that it can be filled anew with your love and your Spirit."
OK, I had a good morning. Finished presentation, placed most of the orders, checked on expts, went to symposium (which went well)
I have about 5.5 hours to work before I need to go to ash wednesday sercies, in that time, I need to do the following.
*Email MK about lunch
*order primers, get new battery for timer
*start genotyping (will do this soon) *Plan out probe PCRs
*Finish Nature
*Spot-check NEJMand get first 100
*restore, setup
*call deb
After ash wed. servide, I need to run gel, pay bills, email S and start cell
I'll take an hour to work on emailing MK and doing nature and nejm.
This spoke to me today... and reminds me of "momentum" in the way it affects procrastinators:

A good day. It's a few minutes after five and all I have to do of any consequence is to run. It will be a tough workout -- one-mile repeats trying to get as close to seven minute miles as possible -- but the weather, at least, is beautiful. Then I can kick back and enjoy the feeling of having accomplished something today. Although I really need to rehearse for an hour or so. An hour and a half would be best. Anyway, if I get hit by a bus on the way to run, it's still been a good day.
Our cat Dandelion likes Velvet, she does not care that Velvet is a dog.
Went back to using laptop on sofa this morning, just could not convince myself to sit at the desk. Well, I have been up since 6 am and it is almost 11 am now. Some work, mostly surfing. I did not get to bed until 1:30 am, and have indoor soccer games tonite until 10 pm, so it is ok but need to stop and put laptop back at the desk.
Today's caveat: If I don't change any direction in my course, I will arrive exactly where I am headed for.
Grateful for PA(ers) and hope for change. Together we can do what we could never do alone.

YAY!! FindingNewStrength thanks for starting us!! I need help with finances, I'm overwhelmed... Need to get Yoffee meds and can't afford it.
My boss told me they appreciate me & wants me to tell him if something bothers me....for some reason it sent me spiraling into deeper depression.
Haven't heard from Tuffy's Mom yet, she said she'd bring him over some time this week. I hope she wants to remain in contact, if not I have to really seek HP's will in possibly having the dogs taken out of her home.
Have to self-generate work at work and I don't want to.. My progress with procrastination is VERY SLOW & I wonder if I ever will be able to live more than 60% of my life.
To do:
-workout for 20 mts.
-brush teeth
-hair
Wishing you all BIG HUGS!!
