Findingaway check-in

Thursday 4.10 pm

Have not gone missing - we had a flood drama last night - the creek at the back broke its banks and went through the workshop/shed and my son's bedroom.

Have been a bit shell-shocked and very busy dealing with it all. So I am working hard! somewhat in crisis mode.
VERY grateful that the rest of the house did not get flooded - it was close.

Only just got onto the computer. May not check-in for a few days but I'll be back.

((findingaway))

Wishing you the best as you clean up the mess!

Maybe we could look at the analogy of the persistance of a river, not letting a river bank or a house get in the way of its progress!! ;)

((findingaway))

sorry to hear about the flooding . . . hope you guys will be ok

Thank you for your thoughts - much appreciated. Some hard lessons for me regarding some sorting and ordering which I had put off doing for far too long - not that it would have stopped the flash flood!

Dealing with chaos, making decisions and setting work priorities on the run - always hard for me.

But I am hopeful that the crisis and the work needed to clear up is bringing family members together in better ways, which makes me happy.

Time to kick butt on the english paper. Looking forward to crossing it off the list so I can go home this weekend.

Little steps:

  • Read one article - make notes
  • Log progress
  • Read second article - make notes
  • Log progress
  • Draft outline
  • Log progress

Making progress, slow but sure. I'm tired of being frustrated about this paper, so I just want to pound it out. I'm hoping to write all 4 pages tonight, get some sleep, then proof read and submit tomorrow. Have a sort-of outline written, now just time to fluff it up and make it coherent.

One page down. 2 minute break to grab a snack, then back to work!

Yayyyyy, almost done! One more paragraph, and a conclusion, and I can go to bed knowing I accomplished something!!

DONE! Just have to proofread and do some minor adjustments in the morning... Looking forward to crossing this paper off my list! Bedtime...finally!

Journey 2 pm

A little late for a checkin haha, I went back for a checkup on the oral surgery this morning and made a point of taking the whole morning off, so I didn't start working until 1 pm.  I have one major task to take care of today and it's a tedious but fairly easy task.   When it's done, I'm gonna call it a day.  I am feeling much better today, it's been a week since the minor surgery so I guess that's about normal.    But I tell ya, if I'd known it was going to be this bad I would have taken a few days off and probably postponed it to next year!

Been a pretty big mental mess for the past few days and am fairly certain it is related to the 'BIG PROJECT' at work.  Got to deal with this...

Reminders:

-I am not my work

-progress not perfection

-Do what I'm capable of and ask for help with the rest.

-Tackle parts where I feel most confident that I can do the work competantly and move on from there

However there are a lot of little things that have to be done as well.

Will take conscious planned, breaks today to meditate and help myself clear the path ahead.  I will be kind but firm with myself. Sending prayers to my HP that I make progress today in the way that best serves his desires for me.

Wishing everyone else a clear path today...

I need to remember this:  Do what I'm capable of and ask for help with the rest.

Thanks!
