Gratitude

Dag, this is good!  I'd been worried over the weekend about conflicting tasks/duties for 3 (no 4) bosses.  I prayed for guidance yesterday and this morning.  A while ago, I called 2 of the 4 bosses, and got some guidance.  Then just a moment ago when I started to pray to get started on my work, I realized that in this area, my prayer had been answered!  My anxiety about the task/boss conflict is greatly reduced.  Thx God!

My next prayer is for help in facing, tackling, and completing today's task.  I can't do it on my own.  But with God's help, I can start.  I'll leave the rest to Him.

woops

i hit 'edit' on my post instead of 'reply'. my browser's back button had this in it. typical of the day i'm having :P

here it my prev post:

i am in the same place, except my stress i right now about my work right now. i made a couple mistakes. and while fixing them, i made some more. i feel like i'm digging myself into a hole and when later i try to figure out what i did i will never be able to untangle the mess.

but i DO believe that, as vic says, god "wants to" help me, and in fact that he loves me more than i can know. Sort of how i love my kids more than they can know, because i didnt know how much my parents loved me when i was a kid. i found out only when i had kids of my own.

> My next prayer is for help in facing, tackling, and completing today's task. I can't do it on my own. But with God's help, I can start. I'll leave the rest to Him.

this is EXACTLY what i need to hear. and do. so i'm going to go pray right now. Thanks to you GOD for talking to me today thru these good people.

"fall down seven times, get up eight" - japanese proverb

i prayed

and two grand, helpful things came to my mind:

"i will never leave you nor forsake you"

and

"be still and know that i am god."

that last one happened to be the theme of the sermon yesterday :D

i plan to say these to myself when i get stressed out today, which will likely be in about 5 min :P

"fall down seven times, get up eight" - japanese proverb

(Clem)

Those are two of my favorites. I believe we are all connected by the same thread. Good share. Thanks. V.

it worked

i'm flying high right now. it was hard, many obstacles, but i keep thinking that god wanted me to make forward progress, and that he had my back, and that helped me keep going. and eventually i unraveled everything and got it done and shipped out.

Thanks y'all and thanks god.

funny, this is all in ruthb's thread. i feel a little guilty about that. my day today kinda flowed out of his/her post which is why, but still i shouldve probably made my own thread. sigh.

"fall down seven times, get up eight" - japanese proverb

(ruthb)

ditto for me. My biggest block was believing a hp would "want to" help me, then I chose to have one that would "want to" help me, after that, I found there really is one out there that "wants to"

Thanks, Clement

Clement,

Thanks for those 2 quotes.  I know exactly what you mean about getting freaked out.

I'm good at whatever I do - when not freaked out.  "Be still."  Right.

Journey 10 am

Survived huge production install over the weekend!   I'm coasting a bit today and taking tomorrow off, but that doesn't mean goof off all day.   I have a lot of administrative type stuff that needs catching up on, and my 2nd priority project which has been neglected lately.   Making a SHORT todo list now.

kromer 9:40 CI

I've had kind of a bad time the past week or so, so I want to keep my list manageable for today.

So, if I do the following things the day will have been a success:
*Return lib. book
*Call SC, call RH, email MK
*Lectin staining
*Check on expts, w.
*Comments on TE's poster

There are a bunch of other things I'd like to do but I'm not even going to write them down here, in the interest of not overwhelming myself.

kromer next day CO

man! this ended up being a lot harder/more work that I thought.

I also had a mtg that I'd forgotten about, so that added about 2 hours of work to my day.

But I did manage to get all the above tasks done, except for calling SC (so that's on the list for today), plus the mtg prep, plus cooking for the week.

So, overall, a good day. Thanks to HP and to all of you!

Inkstress Checking In

Okay, I forgot to check out last night but that's okay. I'm checking in this morning & that's a great thing.

Work To-Do List

1. Go through all loose paperwork on my desk & in desk drawers & make sure I'm not leaving anything undone.

2. Return all phone calls by end of day.

3. Check in by phone today during lunch break.

Will think about my home to-do list when I get home. For now, one thing at a time!  Thank you to everyone for being here!

Inkstress Checking Out

1.  I caught up with my loose papers!

2.  I returned all (okay, 95%) of my phone calls.

3.  I did my first phone check-in today.

Also managed to make a dreaded grocery trip & buy only what was on the list.  I still have plenty of other things that need done but for tonight I'm celebrating victory over my to-do list.  Dance with me!  Cool

Congratulations!

monday check-in tracy l.a.

Good morning,

Checking in and showing up.

Time to start work on some of my projects.

 Afternoon check in

One of my basics was checking my calendar in the a.m. Didn't do it this morning and forgot I had an 11 am business meeting. Made it there 1/2 hour late but all was fine. Was spending 5 hours on finishing a project and I was hyperfocusing to get finished.  Good reminder why I put that as my basic. I rationalized that I had looked at it the day before but i need to look at it when I get up.

So basics: (1) check calendar -  done; (2) gratitudes- done; (3) affirmations (I will make out time to start on my projects for the day. I always complete what I start.) done; (4) reading [do later this evening]

tracy-la

day at a time

have to remember - progress not perfection. have been up since 4:45am, and not where i need to be. at all. not enough sleep, but did get to bed earlier. have had breakfast, but not dressed. and feel vague. need better pre-bed routine re prepaeration for next day ("the battle is won the night before"), and better morning routine. time way off this a.m./ whew.

need to clean cat boxes once again.

need to not be checking emails in the morning, re replying or reading paper on line.

okay - beating self up ain't gonna help.

get going - dress and do 2 - 15min declutter sessions.

get $$ jessica, swiffers

yikes stop this and start. finish tea first. right.

"progress, not perfection"

Thank you for the reminder, Peregrine! Going to say this to myself today. :)

myy day 15

Had a nice peaceful Sunday yesterday but now I'm stuck on the computer again. I'll go and make some more coffee and then start on my tasks.

Done:
- took care of my home by doing chores

Not Done:
- meet billable work quota
- find address forms, fill and post

Did not have a good day for various reasons. Started working a few times and got halfway to daily goal. That's better than nothing and better than most days before I joined this forum. Still, this is the first time since joining I didn't meet my billable hours quota. Well, going to start again tomorrow. Can't be bothered to do anything more today.
