Scribbler's Thursday

Had to skip  all prep such as exercise because I stayed over at my girlfriend's last night, slept late and am just now getting to it a 11 a.m. Well, it's important to keep up human contact, I guess. It's also important to me to make progress on my goals. Perhaps maintaining relationships is a viable objective. Anyway, back to the others, like making al iving...

"fall down seven times, get up eight" - japanese proverb

Vic 11-11-10

show up (done) Get out of self, and my head. Ask HP for direction of the next right thing. Have some calls I put off because of fear and shame.

E&G Hicks say:" The Law of Attraction is responding to your thought, not to your current reality. When you change the thought, your reality must follow suit. If things are going well for you, then focusing upon what is happening now will cause the well-being to continue, but if there are things happening now that are not pleasing, you must find a way of taking your attention away from those unwanted things.

You have the ability to quickly change your patterns of thought, and eventually… your life experience."

Thanks for being here, got so much done yesterday by being able to stay focused as I listened to Eckart Tolle CD's.

re: change your thot

hi again vic!

undoubtedly that's good advice. but i come here in the deep doldrums and the idea of changing my thot seems out of reach. :(

but... i also know that many, many times i come here and read the daily thread and feel more positive about my life, and more hopeful about what i can accomplish.

thanks for sharing.

pm ck in & (clem)

Clem, thanks for sharing what most of us (at least I do) think when we read stuff like Hicks Law of Attraction. It is like telling a compulsive overeater, just eat less, or alcoholic, just don't drink, etc., etc., if that's all it took none of us would be here.

All I know is by participating in PA, I have hope for something  "better" , I am not alone anymore, I can't believe the all the  accomplished people here can feel as I do. I have such a long way to go, but because of the people here, I can face my "shame" enough to keep showing up in spite of them, and that is a miracle.

Not as productive today, very difficult to accept, Hicks say "but if there are things happening now that are not pleasing, you must find a way of taking your attention away from those unwanted things. " I can start by being grateful, then by helping someone else.

tracy-la thursday check in

Good day~

Checking in and showing up.

Idea of cutting procrastination at the source. To maintain my procrastination success, I must limit my time on the internet that is not related to work. If I could I would only go on the internet when I'm on the phone with a friend or buddy so I won't spend more than 15 minutes on the internet or start finding information for future articles.

Having a time management or organizing methods that are incompatible with my neurology will result in procrastination. I am impulsive and get excited about new things so I need to set up structure that works with my neurological dominance.

> I need to set up structure that works with my neurological dominance.

yeah, me too.

i've been trying to do that for a long time with little success. i'd be interested in hearing anything that works for you.

It's like remembering that

It's like remembering that I'm left handed and cannot write with my right hand but thinking I should be able to because everyone else does. Now can I write with my right hand? Sure but it will take me a long time and the writing would be total chicken scratch.

Clement - I think the tools that will work for me involve a lot of different things (not just one magic bullet that work for some people). I'll have to make up a list when I have more time. Perhaps if we shared lists we'd get ideas that can help but since we're all different what works for one person may not work for another. Checking in frequently with others helps especially for those times I do go off track (at least it gets limited to 30 min). Talk to you later,

Crazybug CI

"On the mountains of truth you can never climb in vain: either you will reach a point higher up today, or you will be training your powers so that you will be able to climb higher tomorrow."- Friedrich Nietzsche

Overcoming any habit or accomplishing anything great is an iterative process. That means you just need to keep 'starting' and it will continually improve.

I will give all my efforts over to the bookkeeping tasks I have today and try to stay focused on that. I'll keep starting.

re: Crazybug CI

inspiring stuff. even Nietzche altho i think he gave up on that later in life.

and the other quote about the iterative process. that's rly helpful to me today. tx!

Iteration

Clement - thanks for your response. I've been thinking a lot about iteration and iterative processes that ultimately lead to success. Think babies crawl - walk -run. That's an iterative process right?  Keep trying essentially the same type of forward movement and eventually you're running like the wind.

I get very frustrated and disheartened at times when I feel like I'm not progressing in resolving my considerable procrastination habits.  So to deal with that I've decided to put all my faith in the fact that daily I am experiencing an iterative process that will ultimately lead me to a productive life. Some of the iterations are more useful than others, but it's still a small step towards the ultimate goal.

Wishing you good thoughts today and a clear path forward.  Just start...
