Nearly 2 pm local time Wednesday. Was running computer scans and couldn't use the internet.

  • spoke with SC, started follow-up

  • restart project and finish at least 2 sections - only 1 section but at least made a start.

  • list for M or Oxfam order if time

Got caught up reading my novel at breakfast and lunch, a favourite way of postponing work. Trying not to be hard on myself, just keep going!

Okay, not my fault I missed my 3:30 & 5:30 check-ins: forgot I had an orthodontist appointment right after school and then my mom had to drag to me a bunch of stores and I just got home... so this is going to count as my 3:30, 5:30, and 7:30 check-in... I'm going to post what I have to do and then add smilies when I'm done them (don't comment on this post or it won't let me re-edit).

Boy, has it been a while. Kind of shut down, been sick for going on 2 weeks. I've been consistent on working out, but not with anything else. My house is gross. I honestly want to be cured of this craziness, and not have to come here. I have lots to do (good stuff) and lots on my plate just sitting there & spoiling. Love the fact that I try my darndest to be a patient person, but that doesn't often get extended back. I'm tired of people and places. (Please excuse my brutal honesty and it has nothing to do with anyone here- you guys have always been great!!)

Reading for today: Clarity. We can learn to have perspective when we are going through those confusing, difficult learning times. When we are being pelletted by events that make us feel, think, and question, we are in the midst of learning something important.  We can trust that something valuable is being worked out in us -- even when things are difficult, even when we cannot get our bearings.  Insight and clarity do not come until we have mastered our lesson.  

Faith is like a muscle. It must be exercised to grow strong. Repeated experiences of having to trust what we can't see and repeated experiences of learning to trust that things will work out, are what makes our faith muscles grow strong.

Today, I will trust that the events in my life are not random. My experiences are not a mistake. The Univerise, my HP, and life are not picking on me. I am going through what I need to go through to learn something valuable, something that will prepare me for the joy and love I am seeking.

Good morning - did a little better about being earlier today, not as well as I wanted but still an improvement.  Although today I was the first one here and I got sucked into a couple of issues that really aren't mine but I'm available so  . . .maybe there's a bad side to getting here early lol.  The early bird gets the worm, but the early worm gets eaten.

Anyway, making todo list now.  I have a 10:30 meeting so my intention is to have the tdl complete before the meeting starts.

Promises for checking in.

The reason I made this forum topic a day ahead of time is because I need to make a promise about when I will check in.  After joining last week, I made great progress for a few days using the chatbox, but then went almost a week procrastinating horribly without even checking in.  I am now promising that I will check in tommorrow at 5:30am, 3:30pm, 5:30pm, 7:30pm, and 9:30pm.  (Tommorrow morning I will be exausted after another night of staying up late due to procrastination. I will try to convince myself that an hour's extra sleep will be worth going to school looking like I just rolled out of bed [because I did] again. But I will make myself get up, if only to post on this check in site. I will be tired all day, which is a shame, but I know I deserve it and will accept my failure tonight and use it as motivation to never let it happen again. After school, my brother will want to play games on my laptop and I'll have to log it in for him. But I will not stay and watch. I will remember how horrible I felt last night after procrastinating and go right up to my room, lock the door, and start on my homework. I will not let myself get distracted until all my homework is done.  I will check in at all the times I promised even if they seem unneccesary to make sure I do everything I mean to do.  Sorry about this long post, but I am trying to not only plan what I will do tommorrow, but also do the "imagine youself actually having to do it" part :).)

Hi xskybirdx,

I relate with how it feels after you've been all day distracted

and not doing what need to be done. That happens to me 

heaps, and that behaviour puts me in difficult situations and

always is I promise not to do it again, I always regret it but

always happens and doesn't matter how hard I want to do it,

this happens specifically with my studies...and I become a

third rate student, a mediocre, incredible.

I relate to your share, my "showing up" consistently, is my mental "on switch" . I "connect to others in the virtual office, and my intention is to get started and not shut down.It is my version of showing up for work,not taking the day off, but since I do not have an out of the house job right now, I show up here. It is my 1st step in having willingness to be willing. Keep coming back.
