When I was sorting out my papers for tomorrow, I opened a letter from the state tax department. There are disturbed about my not filing tax returns in 2004 (they haven't figured out 2005 yet). Now that my business is closed - at least the part that requires my active participation - I have time to do this now, and it has to be next on my list. They want me to respond within 30 days. I wonder if I can get this done in 30 days.

Wake up: 9am (target: 7am).
Send out the notification letters (program written). :)

I've been worrying over whether the mailing reached everybody (there was a small technical problem). But it doesn't matter!! Enough people got it, and anyway I think it probably did reach everybody.
I can't stay up late again tonight, and I need to get back on track with my routines. I'm gonna do it now. I wish there were other people online - I could use a kick in the butt about now.
I'm still sitting at my desk for some reason. I should be done for today. I've been working since I got up, and I never showered or dressed. It's nearly time for my bedtime routine. I should get up, clean up, and go sit on the couch and relax.
I have such a hard time switching gears, even when it's to something pleasant!

I blew off a lot today, but I finished the One Big Thing - very difficult, and had been hanging over my head - so I feel good right now.
Still, it's good to post this list so I can take stock and really be aware of what I'm blowing off. In particular, I can't blow off a full day of meds - must take my pills!

I just recalled that when I wrote the original program, I created a user interface to the two settings I want to change, so they are trivial to change - I did the thinking back when I wrote the program.
I'm unabashedly time bingeing today. I know I'm not supposed to do this and it will lead to bad things, but the nature of this program makes it hard to do otherwise. There are certain things I can only test after making the program live, and when it's live and doesn't work right, it's a RUSH to fix. I can't be leisurely about it. As I was testing this code, customers were also using it to buy my product. I'd look in my database to see my own test record and if it was correct, and I'd find a new customer record from someone else.
I finally got it working perfectly, but oh, the churn in my PayPal account. I must have made 50 test purchases. Balancing my credit card statement will be loads of fun this month.
One of my customers confirmed that the notification letter I tried to send out yesterday didn't go out (just as well because of all the subsequent PayPal problems), so now my last task is to figure out what's up with that. I'm going to take a break first, though - since now that things are working I CAN take a break without horrible things happening.
Hey y'all! Nice to pop in on a Saturday. Can I just say, I love my Saturday meetings? Amazing how it takes up the entire morning, yet I end up being way more productive and happy than usual.
Already done:
Morning meditation group
Brunch
Take pills
11 am group
grocery shopping
wash laundry
inventory (40 min)
chat with parents
To do:
Put away laundry
Some cleaning... not sure what will inspire me. Maybe getting papers off the kitchen table, my perpetual issue.
Dishes if my roomie doesn't do them all.
Don't have much time - leaving just before 5 to go to a block party and then out with friends for my birthday.
Been out all day - car wash, shopping, DDog walking with friends, now having ~another~ date night - that's two in one week! Just wanted to touch base. I'm a busy girl tomorrow and Monday - prep for Monday classes in the morning, Treasure Hunt in the afternoon, and going to a gig in Scotland in the evening, come back Monday, meetings at payroll, teach two classes in the evening, so I don't know if I'll be able to pop in. I like this idea of keeping work-work mainly to the weekdays, and doing fun stuff at the weekend - it suits me!
WTG g-i-d, 1Focus, and pro on getting things done today :)
The PayPal problem is fixed. My program works (at least that crucial part of it). I still have a few more things to clean up, but that was a big one. Yeesh.
After I got it working, I went back in and did a major clean-up of my code. Now all the logic files are written so that the new logic is added on top instead of replacing the old logic. Everything is controlled by a single offer number, and if I change that, the site goes back to how it was - which isn't a totally bad thing because who knows - at one point I may want to, and that programming was very, very difficult.
I'm very happy that the PayPal hell is behind me - ecstatic. I don't enjoy dealing with that stuff - it's too complicated. For every test I have to go through a whole purchase ordeal, then remove the transaction and refund my money. PayPal has a "sandbox", but from what I hear it doesn't work. I built my own sandbox which works very well, but for this I needed the real deal.
Now I just have to figure out why those letters didn't go out. :?

I just thought of something... My migraines got worse simultaneously with my allergies getting worse (this is a bad season for me). This must be the trigger. Sinus stuff always give me migraines.
Head's okay - well, no different than usual. I've been getting daily migraines for about 3 weeks now. This morning's was just starting when I woke up, and quickly went away with medication.
This morning I forgot I was going to drink less coffee and made the usual amount.
And last night, I crashed on the couch though I said I wasn't going to. I was just SO TIRED.
And this morning, I seem to have found the problem with my script. Amazing what 8 hours of sleep will do for you (I didn't wake up until 9am). It turns out that this new business configuration causes PayPal notifications to go through my script in a way they didn't before, so a bug that was always there is showing up. Well, not actually MY bug. My script's ability to deal with PayPal's idiocy was taxed beyond its current ability to compensate. I'm fixing it now. }:)

Hi everyone! Finally, I am feeling better. Had a good night's sleep, and the kids slept in a little (oooo-7:30 a.m.) seems like such a novelty when you have kids to sleep till 7:30...lol.. Anyhow, it's nice to be back in my head. I am excited about my weekend. DH and I are going on a date this afternoon and evening, and we haven't been out w/o the kiddos in forever. So that will be nice. I got up this morning and got started on my day and feel great.

And oh, yeah, the sleepin. 5 years ago I would have seriously re-considered having kids had I known I would consider anything after 7 a sleep-in! Luckily they go and play together and I don't have to get up for about an hour or so...when they get hungry!!!!

I signed on to give it a kick but I was too late :) - you logged off some time in the last 20 minutes...
Oh, well. Looks like you have started your bedtime routine, so that's good.
Don't try to think about the tax thing tonight, just put in on your to-do list and think about it tomorrow.

hi Milo!!
I've been lonely here all day - nice to see you (sort of - you're logged off now, too). But nice to get a message from you.
I'm done with my bedtime routine now, and it's before midnight, so that's not so bad.
