"It has been estimated that the average person has sixty thousand separate thoughts each and every day. The problem with this is that we have the same sixty thousand thoughts today that we had yesterday, and we'll repeat them again tomorrow. Our minds are filled with the same chatter day in and day out." Wayne Dyer, Wisdom of the Ages
Grateful for the possibilty of chaning my thinking here with others.

Good Wednesday everyone:
By basic 4 daily plan (since 1/2 finished to do lists made me feel badly ...so my daily list is something I can do every day no matter what even on my death bed):
1. checking in showing up / reading material (bonus) - Done
2. checked calendar for today and week - Done
3. Exercise - planned
4. Gratitude. Grateful for the procrastination which led me to the path of recovery of changing today's self-defeating behaviors (taking on too much & procrastinating which were learned survival behaviors from my childhood - a way not to feel or confront anxious or difficult feelings). Grateful for Melody Beattie's books on codependency which give some great insight into my self-defeating behaviors and what "recovery" means. Grateful for friends in the program.
5. Plan to Plan. Have 1 client appt I have to keep. Keeping track of how I spend my time. Doing it in a nonjudgmental way. but knowing that accounting for my time is a way to see what I am doing and how long things really take. One plan is reducing time on Internet not needed for work.
Have a terrific day everyone.

Quotes for Day:
1. "You are on time." Quit blaming yourself for being late. Even extends to blaming myself for not addressing these issues earlier. I am ready and willing now. Wasn't before. The time is right. If I want to work on being on time for appointments, then I can set up that structure and have a goal. But time to quit the blame and shame game.
2. "Substance over form." today, I will focus on substance in my life. I will fill in the lines of myself with a real person - me. I will concentrate on the substance of my relationships, the real workings of my life and what I do with my time - rather than what they look like. When doing "kid" or "recovery" things that take time doesn't seem productive because it doesn't let me check off lots of things on a "to do" list - I know I am showing up for life and participating to the best of my ability.

Journey 9:30 &
Good morning! Working from home today. I've been to the gym and attended a 9am conference call. I'm feeling kinda out of it today. Maybe I'm still tired from the weekend night shift but it's time to stop using that for an excuse
lol.
I'm going to freshen my coffee, straighten up my work area a bit, then take care of one request that came in this morning. After that I'll check back here, make todo list for the rest of the day, and get cleaned up and dressed in 'work at home' clothes. Later!
UPDATE 12:45 Well that request took over an hour, then had another meeting, a couple phone calls and lunch. NOW i'm getting dressed .
UPDATE 1 pm dressed, making todo list for the rest of the day .. . . the morning was totally reactive, I'll try to be a bit more proactive this afternoon although I have two more meetings *sigh*

Wednesday with the Scribbler
After bragging about how well I've been doing yesterday morning, I had my least-productive day in a while. What happened was I got so sleepy mid-afternoon that I decided to drop down for a 20-minute power nap. But I slept through the alarm for a lot longer than that. How long, I'm not sure. Probably 90 minutes or more. Anyway, that pretty much shot the day. But I'm back and hopeful for a better one today. Thanks to everybody for being here. I hope you have a procrastination-free day.

The last couple of days have been disasters.
So, for today I'm going to focus on one thing at a time. I'm going to come up w/ Southern strategy and pull together presentation. If that's all I get done today, that's all right.
kromer CO
Whew! this turned out to be a huge task. I've pulled together the presentation. Southern strategy still not quite done (almost got done, then realized I'd misunderstood something and still had more work to do. oh well)
I'm in a good place to finish tomorrow, I think--and I worked well, albeit with too much surfing.
Thanks for the encouragement, wh.syl!
