Lol - So much for Day 1 *head hang*

Accidentally turned my alarm off and woke up 3 hours later than when I'd planned to. Far out... so much for Day 1 of task buddying eh?

I know it's probably due to me being sick and having a load of sleep debt in the past busy 4 days, but still they feel like excuses.

I guess I'll just use this as a starting point to work upwards from and hope to never have to post a post like this again. *head hang*

Hope your day went better Titan!

A person needs 6 - 8 hours of sleep

Hi Allegro,

A person needs to get around 6 - 8 hours of sleep. If you have not slept properly for days, I suggest you complete the deficit by taking a day off. Then from next day onwards, make it a habit not to keep awake till late night and try to get up half an hour earlier than your normal wake up time. Do this for 2 - 3 days, then reduce your wake up time by half an hour more and so on until you can wake up at your expected time.

Luckily you suggested I look at this thread from chatbox

Hi Titan,

This sounds like me, especially the desire to wake up early. I'm a student so my sleep falls all over the place (it's going to shock you) - but I desperately want to be able to wake and sleep at the same time each day and develop a healthy routine.

I'll work with you on the waking up early thing first, focussing on one project at a time and keep it sustainable. Will post my wake times - hopefully this will keep us accountable.

We can also move this onto email to make it more private - whatever works. But I probably can't do check in times because figuring out time zones etc, gets a bit hard.

Best of luck in building the life that you want from the ground up! Solidarity!

Y'day was a off-day. Got up

Y'day was a off-day. Got up at 8 am after turning off the alarm at 6 am. Perhaps because it is the weekend.  No different today, just 15 mins earlier ...God damn it!

sponsorship

Most people in 12 step fellowships find someone to sponsor them. It's sort of like a task buddy, but the main focus is to help one work the 12 steps. One usually speaks with their sponsor regularly to go over "what's going on". After someone is "in" the fellowship for a while they find other people who know alot about certain things, such as fixing things, gardening, parenting, art, etc. and ask them for advice. They sort of become "task buddies". It's hard to do this online, because of putting out info about onself, but if you read the posts on this site for a while, you'll find people who are good in certain areas. Or, you can post you need a little help in an area, and ask that someone contacts you privately. That's worked well for me.

Thanx a lot!

Thanx a lot for this useful advice! I believe that if you receive help, you are obliged to give it back when you are in a position to do so.

task buddy: titan

I could use a task-buddy too.  Or recovery partner as I should say.

Hi, I think the proper

Hi,

I think the proper sentence is 'Work with a task buddy' and not 'Use a task buddy'..

Please do not leave advice.  Thank you.  Prayers welcome.

I could certainly use a task buddy.  And I'm not asking for your advice on how to phrase my recovery needs.  Good luck to you in your recovery.

OK, Titan, let's try it one week

Titan,

I'm up for changing my life for one week at least!

My areas of concern:

- getting into the office early, (anywhere from 530am to 8am, you choose the check-in time, but the earlier the better for me )

- exercising - preferably leaving office by 1pm for this purpose,

- completing exercise and being back to work by 3pm

What is it about 7 ?

Was awakened by the clock at 6, shut it off and went back to sleep. Woke up again at 7:15 am.

Ref: Taskbuddy

Hi Titan - I did get your e mail. I am loking for someone who can be my taskbuddy in completing my dissertation. I try to get up pretty early in the morning. I don't think it matters as long as we can help each other get our tasks done. Let me know how we can give this a try for a week or so. Lani

Also looking for a task

FOOK

FOOK NO BODY'S SEEMS INTERESTED! I WILL DO IT MYSELF

FIRST MISSION IS TO WAKE UP AT LEAST BY 6 AM. LET'S SEE HOW IT GOES.

I AM GOING TO SET AN ALARM.

Don't be discouraged!

Titan,

Don't be discouraged! As I see it, we're all task buddies. I suggest using the tools here, such as the morning phone calls, the chatbox, and these posts.

Also, as I see it, this is a program of self-encouragement, not self-criticism. I think most if not all of us are already too self-critical.

All the best,

  V

FOOK

I woke up at 6, put off the alarm and went back to sleep. Finally woke up at 7. Tomorrow is another day....

Hehe your post made me laugh

You can do it titan! Small steps!

I probably can't commit to the responsibility of being a task buddy - but keep posting your efforts - we're all supporting you!
