Monday 18th September
Now, I know it's not Monday for most of us here just yet, but it is for Milo, and won't it be nice for her to wake up to a new thread! (Also, I want to post my Day Plan where I'll see it prominently in the morning!).
pro has been very proactive just lately - the business decision seems to have made a huge difference in outlook.
Slider is having a tough time with DSO's illness (((Slider)))
Milo has a new job
Jester is going great guns, and (the rest of this sentence has been edited by Norm so as not to cause offence!).
Scarlett is making strides, and is contemplating auto-shutdown like me! ;)
1Focus made a last minute appearance on the Sunday thread, and will hopefully be joining us today.
Our new member barret has been joined by a LittleSister from Greece - welcome both!
gettin-it-done and neuway where are you?
Hello to tantrums and any other lurkers out there! Come in! The water's lovely! :D
And I'm planning not to procrastinate AT ALL on Monday! There - I've said it!
Apologies to anyone I've missed - our little band is not so little any more - I'm going to have to start taking notes!

'BE' turned into a 'CUOP' as well, but when I got started on the Daytime Routine I just whizzed through it - all that prep at the weekend seems a drag at the time, but it really makes it easy during the work week. The only thing I didn't do from the Daytime Routine yet was to take DDog for a walk, as she can go after I've done tonight's classes if necessary.
Ddog laundry still drying, and human laundry now out on the line - we have some HUGE spiders out there with fantastic webs! (Probably tiddlers to Milo but they're unusual for round here). It's beginning to limit where I can hang the washing, LOL! They seem to have learned not to use the line nearest the sunshine - seems you ~can~ teach an old spider new tricks!
OK, back to Planning 1 for tonight's classes.
scarlett BE 9:50 am

Let's do it!

Norm's 1.40 pm BE
Good morning pro and 1Focus. Looks like we've all been having a bit of a lie in this morning, LOL!
1Focus - have you decided yet what your reward is going to be? I love having something to look forward to! :D
I've been doing really well, and have stayed focused on my session planning. I'm running over time (as often happens when I get stuck in), and have done 2h 40 m so far instead of the 2h I had planned, but I have got ~a lot~ further than I had really hoped for. I have almost completed the course plan for the whole twelve week course (with a backup plan in case people pick it up really quickly, LOL!). When I do that it makes session planning a dream!
I'm hungry now so I'm going to do my Daytime Routine next (includes food!), then back to it. I was going to work on my retreat as well today, but I need to have this ready for tonight, so I'm going to prioritise this one.
*Wake up; canoodling with DSO; cuppa
*MR
*Course planning nearly complete 2h 40m
*Phoned DSO to see how he got on this morning with ~his~ new group

Change of plans
Have been cuop (didn't put that in my plan), so I'm still awake, so I think I'll just stay up. Also, I'll add washing dishes to my list (I started them before taking DS to school, might as well finish). So I'll call DH, then finish dishes that are already in dishpan, then fix some breakfast and wash those dishes, too. Then on with rest of list.
Good morning Slider
Sorry I missed you - must've cross posted.

pro's CI - 8am EDT US
I'm running very late - I'd be leaving for the gym almost an hour later than I like to. I'm going to do an at-home workout because:
gym workouts
I'm realizing that I'm probably not going to do the gym workout in the morning consistently because I don't like how much time it takes. I don't get started working until after lunch. Since that's not working for me, I need to recognize it and come up with an alternative that I can stick with long-term (as opposed to procrastinating on this one approach in passive resistance and end up not exercising at all).
Exercising at home in the morning is an alternative I should explore seriously, since it would save me 40 minutes of walking time. I'm going to try to come up with a good home workout this morning that will be as good for me as the gym workout.
Don't should on me
Exercising at home in the morning is an alternative I want to explore seriously
right!
Forgot about the shoulds - right.
I'm very frustrated about this exercise thing because I want to exercise in the morning - I feel better when I do - but I can't seem to find a way to do it that doesn't seriously interfere with my workday.
I supposed I could get up earlier, but that does not seem appealing, and I don't think I'm going to want to walk to the gym at 7am on winter mornings when it's still dark. It's not a solution.
There's a gym on the corner, but I can't afford it. It's $1500/year (as opposed to $75/year for the City Rec Center).
Not offering a suggestion.
How many flights of stairs in your building?
four flights...
...and I am on the top floor. But I'm up and down the stairs all the time - that's nothing unusual.
I just did an exercise tape, and it wasn't enough of a workout. I'm fairly strong and fit - I need more challenge. I used to have an exercise ball and a whole workout around that, but I sold my exercise ball when I sold my house because there's no room for it here. I'm going to look through my exercise books and see what I can come up with.
Gym workouts - suggestion
You could maybe go to the gym two or three times a week if it helps keep your motivation up, and do a home workout the other days (not forgetting to give yourself a day off each week!). It doesn't have to be all or nothing.
gym workouts
Walking to the gym on weekdays just takes too much time, and on weekends I'd rather ride my bike and/or do errands and shopping I can't do during the week. Plus the gym has limited hours on Saturday and is closed on Sunday.
I'm willing to devote 45 minutes to working out in the morning, but with the gym it becomes 1.5 hours because of the travel time.
Or bike to gym?
That would cut down on time (depending on where you keep your bike!) and you'd still get your bike ride in. I don't blame you not wanting to spend 1.5 hours on it - especially when so much of it is travel.
bike is far away
My bike is stored a 20 minute walk from my apartment, so that wouldn't work. I can't keep it here because this building is a walk-up, and getting it up and down the stairs is so unpleasant that when I had it here I never used it.
Not to mention that bikes chained on the streets of New York often are not there when you come back to get them. The gym is right across the street from a housing project (low income, city-run apartment building), so it's not a good area to chain a nice, new-looking bike.
I'm thinking about taking a dance class - or simply dancing around in my apartment. I love dancing.
yay dancing!
Oooo, what kind of dance class would you take? I love dance.

--The vacuumed rug and swept floors look very nice!
--I got all office supplies and notebooks, binders, etc. organized and put on shelf or in drawers

Dh has angiogram at 1 pm. All tests have been slightly abnormal but not definitive. He is feeling just fine.
I forgot to visit nursing homes Sunday. Actually, I had swapped for someone who couldn't do it on the 17th. Then Saturday when he came to the hospital he said he would do it, though I didn't realize what he was saying (I forgot I was supposed to be doing it)--then this afternoon the nursing home called because nobody was there. I was sorry and apologized, explaining that because of family situation I forgot and couldn't go ahead and get there (I didn't tell them that at the moment I was taking a desperately needed nap!)I don't really know which one of us stood them up, either!
Ok, better go to bed now. Yikes--it's 1:12!
WTG Slider
You and the family got a lot achieved there! (Just give them some praise, and act like it's expected - you never know, it could be the start of a new trend!).
also todayfirst
Don't forget fellow programmer todayfirst - haven't seen him in a while. Todayfirst - where are you?
Very nice of you to start a new day thread for Milo! And it's a good idea to post to-do lists the night before.
Yes, my business decision seems to have broken a dam inside me, and suddenly I'm working much better.
LOL
I can only IMAGINE what the censored comment was. Probably not the first time the comment's been made, no matter what it was.
Say what you want, just spell the name right.
Love to all, and I mean that.
