checking back in at end of day. busy and productive but didn't get to back log.

Okay totally nervous after not posting for a year. . .but want to stay on track with my online physics course (esp since I missed a homework eeek!). I can't take real classes this semester due to a medical thing, but it's been going so well.

Oh goodness, soooo many things have changed. . .and most not for the better. There have been large chunks of time where I don't feel completely alive. . .

But that is all awfully somber. . .I came back hoping to take a little control, and get a rush from cool html cross-outs of tasks. lol.

It's a lovely summer day and the evening will be spent on the beach, so not a ton to put on my list, but I'd like to build a habit of it.

Read Ch. 3 sections 1-6
Take notes on Ch. 3 sections 1-6

Put dishes away

Don't want to get overwhelmed before I even begin. . .

And thank you PA for always being there in your special corner of cyberspace.

I feel accomplished. Even though I didn't put a very big dent in my disorganized room, it's not as important as physics. Which is going alright.

Thank you!

Didn't do great on my writing plan, but made some progress. Will try again tomorrow to make more progress.  Why is writing so hard?!

"On the mountains of truth you can never climb in vain: either you will reach a point higher up today, or you will be training your powers so that you will be able to climb higher tomorrow."- Friedrich Nietzsche

(Crazybug)

When I had to write reports in my old job, I would just write one sentence, sit there write one sentence, I really focused one and only one  sentence because it was "something I could do" somehow all the sentences added up to the 26 page reports, but I could only think of one sentence. ??? don;t know if it could work for you but it worked for me.

I'll try it!

Thanks Vic.  You're always full of gracious wisdom.

I'll try your technique this morning and see if it works.  The challenge is that I have to create this writing piece from scratch, i.e. there is no defined format, topic,  structure that I must follow, so I feel kind of lost in space. I think I can deal with writing one sentence on a topic if it's given to me, but feel scared to death when I must come up with the topic on my own.

thanks again. I'm going to do my best today...

Agnus checking in

Yesterday was fairly productive according to plan, yet today I feel strangely uncomfortable as though I'm doing something wrong. This may be just my dis-ease acting up as it does from time to time.  I've spent too much time this morning in the recovery literature and journaling and talking on the phone seeking answers and nothing is clear yet. So now it is past time to get on with my day. I trust what Big Book says, that "more will be revealed" as I trudge ahead doing the next right thing.

I made my action list but left it in the other room with my procrastinated half-eaten breakfast, so I will start with these simple tasks:

1) finish breakfast, armor prayer and streching
2) email food commitment
3) post a to-do list here

In this moment I choose to 'Opt In' (thanks Vic for that thought!) for the day!

Many big tasks and swirling thoughts in my head today.  So hard to decide on what's most important to do.It's a writing task which has always seemed SO difficult and insurmountable.  Any thoughts/ advice on working on writing tasks would be welcomed!

Thank you all for being here.

I have a draft of a paper to write but always have a hard time knowing when to cut off the research and get to the writing, so here's my strategy...

 What I WILL do:

- think positively and work on my tasks in a non judgemental way.

 - I will spend 15 min defining the goal(s)/point(s) of my article

- I will take a 5 min water/bathroom break

 - I will spend 6o min doing research on my defined goal(s)

- I will take a 5 min water/bathroom break

- I will spend 60 min doing a brainstorming/outlining session

- I will take a 15 min food/mind clearing break

- I will spend 60 min trying to order what I have put down already and defining what is left to fill in.

- I will pat myself on the back for following through with my tasks

What I WILL NOT do:

- check personal e-mail

- do online shopping/unrelated web surfing

- criticize myself

That will take me through the end of my work day.   Why does writing scare me so? Wish I knew...

Show up (done) Think it Through.

One step up and one step back.

2:30 ck in ok- I am making the whole cyber school thing out to be worse than it is and my emotional sanity is increasing my risk for procratination and paralysis. I need to "trust" and stop being hypervigilent. 1st step- awareness. It's all good. Thank you PA friends for being here and a place to keep "showing up"

I have been able to "take the edge off " my anxiety by listening  "new age" HAY House Radio for the Soul- kind of goofy but the voice of the people selling their products is so calm and confident that it kind of calms me down while I do not have to pay attention   thttp://www.hayhouseradio.com      I have to remember "this too shal pass"

You are not alone. I have never found any other place where people "understand" this kind of turmoil we are in. Keep coming back. Together we can do what we could never do alone. Who knows why, but we do know that this group helps/understands/wants you to succeed/ knows you can succeed. Here, we can let go of the shame we feel.

((ndb))

I'm in the same boat. I've been having a rough go lately and know that coming back to this forum will help. Just keep coming back!

Even if it's slow, it's forward progress.  Wishing you the best today!
