Hello!
Everything needs to get done, but I dont want to be partial and further, I stink at prioritizing. So, I have decided that for my next trick I will not prioritize but will aim to complete 16- 10 minute focused work sessions...and I hope to at least touch on the things that should be first priority. So, much different than my normal to do list, today's list consists of only numbers-that's right-just numbers. I will cross off each and every number as I go. Will I reach my goal of 16? I don't know.
this is working for me, but I will cross off groups of 3 for that I did it feeling-too much wasted time crossing off each one individually

J and I have been on a trip that included one very busy work day for me, then 4 days of pure relaxing vacation - we didn't even visit nearby family, which has me feeling a tad guilty. But we've always wanted to see the city like tourists and this was our chance, so we did a completely "obligations-free" four days. Saw what we wanted when we wanted. Heavenly!
But now of course it is time to return to "normal" - as if I knew what that is! I have my breakfast cooling on the table while I responded to 1 urgent email, and reduced my Inbox to >50. So my plans so far are:
The Scribbler's Tuesday CI
Really cramped for time today, as I am leaving after lunch for a two-day huntring trip. Lots to do, not much time to do it. So:

Did ok this morning, getting to gym and work a few minutes earlier. I felt really tired yesterday and didn't get as much done as I wanted to, although I did slog through some paperwork. I feel much more rested and inspired today. I've gotten thru email and handled one outstanding issue. Now for todo list for the rest of the day. I have a lunch meeting that I'm nervous about, so I need to be as prepared as possible.
UPDATE 1:30 Lunch meeting went well! I did not trip or spill anything and had a nice biz convo. Taking 10 to recover and then back to work.

Yesterday took a quick trip to visit my family.
Now I'm back and need to focus.
Scheduled for today: Mtg 10-12 and 3-4
Small tasks:
*do about half an hour of prep for the 3-4 mtg and take notes afterwards
*make some small revisions to my thesis proposal
*figure out church meetings
*schedule practice prelim and make sure I've lined up back-up date
However, the focus for today is to *study* for prelim.
I need to make a schedule of what exactly studying I'm getting done this week.
For today, I need to: learn RTK pathway and make a list of other pathways to learn, review how RA gets to t., go over KO techniques, get papers on RARs and on worm and fly.
OK, time for mtg now.

Really have "stinking thinking" this morning and last nite. Feel pathetic, etc. Truth: Not happy with where I am in PA program, I need to "think it through" and adress it 1st or I will get angry with self and relapse, and do nothing. I need to focus on gratitude, esp. for this site/and pa friends. I need to get back down on my knees and remember who is in charge and step 1,2 & 3. I do not want to go back or start over from shut down mode.As long as I am in "show up" mode, things can happen, I at least have a chance. I am not alone. Thanks for letting me share and being here. I have tools, I will go to chatbox. ck in later.
ok "thinking" better. did walk and check classes. Now, take son to work and stay at the library.
Make a plan. ok- not too bad. It would have been a "lost day" had I not worked this program, mediocre is ok, better than "lost" . So hard for me to accept this because I feel if I settle for mediocre, I will become mediocre, or worse yet, maybe I am mediocre- what an ego!!!Grateful for whatever I get past being "lost".
Did my work, got to meeting, not bad, thanks PA friends.

Rex's trip
Hope you have a fabulous time on your travels, Rex. I do a lot of traveling which sometimes disconnects me from PA - and other times drives me to stay in touch even more if things get unsettling "out there." It's so great to know my PA friends are here on the site no matter where in the world I am. Hope you will keep in touch from time to time from "the road!" :-)
Thank you Agnus
Thank you Agnus I shall do my best to keep in touch though the internet is very basic out there.
Good luck on that great trip, Rex!
