Back to it with little enthusiasm

12:21 PM: Feeling a little "blah", bored and unmotivated. But the clock keeps on ticking and I am out of here in 2 weeks and 1 day. So I must press on for now. Managed to spend the morning answering email, handling some overdue (what a surprise) bills, and generally procrastinating. I have had lunch, and the afternoon just stretches off into the distance. It fatigues me and fills me with ennui just to contemplate it. Not a productive way to look at this "time opportunity", but there you have it. Anyway, back to the remaining task list from Tuesday.

I *have to* work on overdue cases, no way around it. Worked on 7 cases yesterday, but several were quickies. Overall, not great progress. Need to go after this more assertively today.

I should do a little on my volunteer work, not necessarily a lot, just to keep from falling farther behind. Did not do anything of significance except for 2 emails yesterday. Maybe this evening, but first the work.

SmileI could do a little laundry tonight, perhaps, and get the drycleaning items together to drop off tomorrow.

I would love, love, love to get even a little exercise in. This will be
a long, tough row to hoe, and it won't get any easier with passing
time. No progress yet. Maybe this evening, fit in somewhere between the work and the volunteer work.

Goal 1: 12:35 - 2 PM: Work on cases from now until my 2 PM meeting. Back to report.

3:27 PM: Multiple distractions, mostly self-inflicted, then *long* meeting, and it's late afternoon with nothing to show for it. Well, time to settle down and focus.

Goal 1b: 3:30 - 5:30 PM: 2 hours, 6 cases, no excuses. Back to report.

Hope everyone is having a productive PA recovery type day!  Tip for today:  AA has a saying, "Act as if." It means that, even before we fully accept Steps 2 and 3, if we act as if a Higher Power is helping our recovery, we will get the same results as someone who actually believes!

Unfortunately due to a work-binge last night I am very overtired, so I need to "act as if" I care about doing a good job today.  Thank God I do know for sure that a Higher Power can help me.

So, happy "acting-as-if" today, dear fellow PAers!!

(Agnus)

I first had to "act as if" my Higher Power "would want to" help me . I was actually believing in a higher power who whould not want to help me, how stupid is that? When I acted as if there was a higher power out there who would want to help "me", it was then that I believed.

Thank you for reminding me.

Agnus to Rexroth

Sorry you are having a difficult time.  You are a good example of showing up anyway, such an important recovery principle.  Thanks for getting us started on the daily check-ins this week, and I hope you feel happier soon.:-)

(I didn't use your Reply button, just in case you wanted your original post for checking-off your list today - )

hope4meandu checkin (10:46AM)

Thanks Rexroth for the starter.

I worked out yesterday, but it wasn't a perfect 10 minutes, I stopped in between and did stuff and then added time. Good enough!!

I hear my mind saying, "oh, I'll never leave here (this site)." That's my diseased head setting me up for failure and leaving. Like when it tells me, you're cured now, you licked this thing for good, etc." I really do not like that I can't do this on my own.

Lots to do today:
-read & prepare all my material to begin step study for Sunday
-brush my girl and do her nails
-laundry
-clean
-call insurance and find out rate for counselor
-figure out time to meet G on Sunday
-call Dr. c about meds
-call Yoffee's dr. about meds
-calll ex set up appt.

Someone gave me an idea to go into the city to the wealthier areas and hand out my doggy flyers and also go to the railroad in the wealthy areas near me and hand out flyers. I don't think I'd be able to do this alone, to awkward feeling. It seemed like a great idea when she mentioned it, but now I'm having 2nd thoughts.

The outpouring of love and support yesterday was awesome amazingness and I humbly thank those who gave so much.

Kind regards!!

Isn't great to have a loving world here so we can say "bring it on" to the rest of the world because we know we have the kindness and support here.

Running late . . . busy morning . .. journey waves hello and gets to work, I'll catch up later!

update 10 am Feeling uber stressed and need to take time to review my goals and  major problems projects and do some reverse calendar planning.   I don't want this stressful time to cause me to spiral into the procrastination whirlpool again . . .feeling that I can't do everything so I end up doing nuthin'.

Haha typing 'problems' instead of 'projects' was a freudian slip for sure lol

gotta run to a meeting, later!

*Revise abstract/aims for writing style and clarity

Rexroth Check In

This morning I feel miserable. I've cancelled my vountary work and feel bad about that. I do feel a bit unwell but I honestly could have gone in if I needed to.

I have a small amount of difficult stuff to do before I go away and the sooner I do it the better and I am finding it hard.

Done:
Up prayer and reflection - tried to remind myself of all I have to be grateful for
Washed up and cleared up after last night's meal and cooking
Took off bed sheets and put in washing machine
Checked emails
Wrote draft of letter for friend
Read response to my complaint to IC
Looked through hospital file and could not initially find what was where
Phoned Ombudsman and had a helpful conversation
Listened to friend who was distressed on phone

Todo:
x Finish letter to friend and send with covering email
x (and she has sent email back) Email person I met on Tuesday
Email places abroad x 2 or 3
Start work on hospital file - x number sheets of medical info - and note what is where so I am not confused again
Start letters to hospital x 2 and x IC office - I need to finish these before I go away and the sooner the better
Make bed with clean bedding
x Hang wet bedding to dry
Retype final list of stuff to take abroad
Check measurements for shopping tomorrow

That will do for now

Regards Rexroth

Rexroth Check Out and Thanks

Thanks for kind comments earlier today.

I had an attack of the miseries and spent a long time watching programmes on my laptop. I've washed up and tidied up a bit.

Todo:
Prayer and reflection
Make bed
Bed and sleep

In fact I have got some useful work done today - not very much but some

Night Folks Rexroth
