Finding distraction

12:03 PM: Or perhaps distraction finding me. Received a text from a friend visiting the US from another country for an extended stay who ran into a lodging problem. Since I am always better at helping solve other people's problems than my own, I have been in anticipatory mode all morning, hoping I can help. But that is pointless. If my friend needs help, I will certainly help. But my friend has to specifically ask. In the meantime, I am sitting at my desk doing nothing but surfing 'just in case'. That won't work. I am at 5 weeks and counting for this job. Time to produce.

Goal 1: 12:45 - 2:00 PM: Review 5 new cases just acquired this morning. Will check back then.

Yesterday I accomplished about 7 or 8 hours of structured, scheduled work/activity that I do without fail each Sunday.  The difficult part has been to be productive during the rest of the day.  I did spend some quality time with my wife, but then starting using that as a way of procrastinating other, more important things that needed doing.  I LOVE being with her, so that is very easy to do!

Today:

DONE: work out at beginning of day

DONE: Call CML

DONE: scripture study and prayer

DONE: bank deposits

DONE: work on RD project

date with wife - she postponed to Tuesday night

DONE: HPG work

practice vc

Scribbler's Monday CI

Feeling a little disoriented after not posting here over the weekend. But I have some gotta-dos I can get started with:

Prep

  • get up at 7 (set alarm last night -- unusual for me -- and hit snooze twice. I call that a win)
  • coffee, paper, water plants
  • healthy breakfast
  • checkins (thinking about cutting back on daily posts to drinking and gaming threads)

Morning

  • Query
  • Invoice re: harmony, jaffe
  • Call 2 re: tabata

Afternoon

  • Healthy lunch
  • Shop for new guitar (how fun is that?)
  • Do 4 on CIO

Evening

  • Lift weights or bike or run
  • BDR open mic
  • Healthy dinner
  • Practice setlist
  • Read, relax
  • Bed by 11

At some point soon I need to:

  • get car oil changed
  • fix downstairs commode
  • get car insurance switched
  • Install porch drip rail

hope4meandu (9:39AM) checkin

Hey All,

The weekend was bad, my food was heavy, didn't work out yesterday. Yesterday would have been 3 work outs this week, but sadly only 2. At least there was 2!! Actually sat in front of the tv the entire day.

I have an interview at noon and I'm sort of optimistic. OMG, very grateful, have another interview tomorrow a.m.

Today at home:
-walk Yoffee (it's cool enough)
-clean kitchen
-clean refrigerator or oven
-laundry
-work out for 10 minutes

♥Prayers & guidance needed & appreciated for my Yoffee's healing.♥

Journey 9:30

Had a good weekend, did some work tasks and some home tasks and also got some rest and relaxation.   I barely got to work on time, though, and I need to work on getting up earlier.   I got out of the habit of getting up early to go to the gym and I've been getting there about 6:15.   Tomorrow I want to be there before 6.

Going for coffee and I'll be back shortly with my todo list for the day.

Nice

Holy mama, Journey! At the gym before 6? Major props to you, my friend, for even having the temerity to set such a task, much less come close. That's superb. Scribbler

Today is a busy day! Just need to focus and get through as much as I can.

MITs are:
*Read about potential (have made good progress on this)
*Email/ask around about proposals (got from lab, need to get from classmates)
*Get list of g. specific genes
*RSVP

Next priority are:
*Call PH
*Cooking for the week
*Doc. tubule sep
*Read up on small-sample ChIP

Lower priority are:
*call IA, order gift
*Chose promoter size, comp. to list
*Expt. mgmt.
*Emails
*Get books
*Look into m. sources

OK,  step by step...will start with doc. tubule sep because that's relatively easy and should give me a sense of accomplishment. Then I'll spend an hour or two and do the readings about potential, and then I'll ask around for proposals. I'll check back when all those things are done.

Rexroth Check In

Fell fed up as a bit unwell over the weekend and didn't get out and had cancelled meeting with brother today.

Slept late, nine and a half hours and still feel tired so:

Done:
Up prayer and reflection - I am close to where I have spent many years trying to get - so why do I feel so discontent?
Checked emails postings and dealt with snail mail
Started on major tidy up in kitchen by disinfecting waste bins, buckets etc and so far have vacummed the floor
Phoned plumber (deep resentment as landlord should do it but landlord does not have a flood in the bathroom)
Posted on recovery site

Todo:
Check my list for travel abroad
Finish clear up kitchen and bedsit

I'm not sure I can't see beyond this

Regards Rexroth
