you may be right, but...

...I made the decision to exercise at home, and (per the book "Too Perfect") I want to stick with my decision without second guessing myself. As Mallinger says, you can make any decision work if you really commit yourself to that course of action.

Also, while I don't want to be deaf to suggestions, I do have to guard against being too wishy washy. It's my tendency to listen to another opinion and automatically think that person knows more than I do and is right, and discount my own decisions and inclinations.

My passiveness is what underlies my demand resistance - huge, HUGE life problem - so I'm going to practice assertiveness and commitment here, and stick with my original decision.

exercise video

I'm not really feeling like doing an exercise video either. I don't have a good place to do it - it requires moving furniture, which is a pain.

I have a feeling I may not exercise today. Can I make that choice? Or is it the slippery slope back to no exercise?

rain, rain, rain

I don't think I'm going to go to the gym. I don't want to be walking up there in the rain, and I'm not going to spend the money on a cab or endure a rush hour train. I have some exercise videos here, and I can do that for exercise this morning.

I should go

It's just raining lightly, and it's supposed to be raining off and off until tomorrow evening. I'm afraid if I don't go I'll get out of the gym habit.

Milo 7:30pm

I'm only 1/2 an hour behind schedule, so doing okay!

I've had an awesome day!!!!!

- Booked appointment with printer
- put load of washing on line
- Took DD to the park (we had great fun!)
- went to printer
- went to look at getting shirts with my business logo
- bought nappies (diapers!)
- picked up DS
- gave DFIL father's day present (it's late, but not because we forgot - long story!)

To Do:
- Feed DDog and fish
- Eat dinner (am on my own tonight - DH away)
- research for client A
- post-consult report in CRM for client B

- bed by 10:30 (I ALWAYS go to bed way too late when DH is away. I never knew why but have recently figured it out - I am enjoying the solitude and want to make the most of it!!!!!)

Hey I want one!

Looks like you've got one of those extra-long-24-hour-plus days there Milo, and I was just wondering why Thursdays are so short! (Maybe the extra hours slide from this side of the planet to yours on a Thursday? Hmm, that means I'll probably get my extra hours Sunday/Monday! :D )

Ha ha!

Well, when you see my next post, you'll see I kinda ran out of hours (well....wasted them, anyway!).

Big WTG, Milo!!

That's a LONG TaDa list, Milo. Congratulations!!!! :)

You know what?

I feel good (well, felt...until the last 2 hours) great not because it was a long list, but because I did everything I promised myself I would do. I rarely keep commitments - especially to myself.

Rexroth 08. BST

Morning Friends

I think I am undercommitting but I want to get into the habit of doing what I plan to do. So:

Todo Today

Up and prayer
emails and this post
exercise
walk
deal with post
if no new bankbook contact bank
30 min legal/admin project
30 min craft project
think selfcare
reply to landlords enquiry on my complaint
write effects procrastintion in my life
find local DA meeting
journal
prayer
bed

no-self-denigration zone

Milo is right - go easy on yourself. Don't put yourself down, and avoid "shoulds". Do as much as you can, and feel good about what you can do.

Babysteps...

Don't use that negative self-talk!! You need to take it slow. You didn't get this overwhelmed in a day, so you can't expect yourself to fill a whole page of Ta Das in a couple of days. You've got the right idea - get in the habit of keeping the promises you make to yourself and once it's a habit, you can start to commit to more things each day. You're doing really well :)

Thanks for support

Thanks for support. Today I went out and had a long walk and then got involved in project of selling some antiques I want to get rid of. It is something I am committed to getting done but it is not what I had committed to doing today. Then felt exhausted and home and bed and tried to sort out complaint to landlord and couldn't. Went to sleep and woken by worker from landlord to inspect my gas cooker. Felt intimdated then back to try and rest. I feel I really need to rest for the remainder of today. So that's it. Rexroth

Woke Up Again

So I went to sleep and now I'm awake again. I've finished my complaint to landlord and won't send it tonight as I want to check it tomorrow when I am properly awake. Don't think that's procrastination.
Anyway now to learn more from sites. Rexroth

Milo 2pm

Had my consult and it went great - I implemented a new system that enables me to sort piles of paperwork without creating more piles, and it was fantastic. God I love sorting through other people's paperwork. Don't know why, but I do!!!! I have another consult with her next week.

- dropped off DD
- did client consultation
- collected DD
- had lunch
- rang DMIL about this evening's arrangements
- Booked appointment with printer
- put load of washing on line

To Do:
- Take DD to the park (it's a gorgeous day)
- go to printer
- go to look at getting shirts with my business logo
- buy nappies (diapers!)
- pick up DS
- give DFIL father's day present (it's late, but not because we forgot - long story!)

Paperwork

I implemented a new system that enables me to sort piles of paperwork without creating more piles

Are you allowed to share, or is it a trade secret. Feeling overwhelmed by piles of paperwork ATM.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Happy to share!

But will PM you because it's long and off-topic. Sort of. If anyone else wants to know, yell out, otherwise I'll just send it to Normy :)

Paper sort

Share on Off topic or Insights forum, or just PM me, too ;)

Okay, I'll put it in off-topic

Seeing as I've just written it all out for Norm, I may as well share it :)

Just don't tell the other POs in my city.... }:)

it's not off-topic

I'll move it to "Questions and Insights".

my paperwork method

I'm not the one you asked, but I, also, have a method that has eliminated my piles.

On-going, I have folders for each of my accounts where I file receipts and statements, the GTD folders Action, Waiting For, and Deferred, and another action folder labelled Bills. Everything gets filed. Then when I do my "handle mail and papers" item on the to-do list, I haul out the Bills, Action, Waiting For, and Deferred folders and look through them. The folders with account stuff need to be entered into my money management program - that's a whole other problem.

If I've let a large pile build up (I haven't done this in a while), then I sort through it like this:

1. Trash
2. Bills
3. Action
4. File

Then I handle each pile in this order:

1. File the filing (to get rid of the bulk of the pile).
2. Pay the bills.
3. Handle the action pile.

I'm pretty organized about this stuff - haven't had a big pile in a long time (and I used to have enormous piles). My only problem is the huge backlog of receipt and statements - all neatly sorted - that I haven't entered into my money management program.

Piles

I only have two types: Filing and Action. The 'handle the action' piles require the scheduling of time, which I seem incapable of, or else I schedule it and procrastinate.

nothing important to say, but...

but there's a good feel to this - positive stuff - nice vibes

Thanks!

I think it reads that way because I feel that way today - positive and very content, even happy! :)

good morning!

I know nappies are diapers! That term, I've heard.

>think about how I can contribute funds to this forum without DH knowing...

Thank you for at least thinking about it. The thought counts. :)
