hope4meandu's check-in at 2:06PM

Regards everyone!!

I had a successful accomplishing day yesterday, thinking of you guys, but not checking in.

Called in sick today, when I call in, I don't get paid. Didn't care. I fear this will become my new pattern again (calling in sick). I slept really late.

I thought my girl was completely cured & was going to call her vets and thank them unendingly, but she just had a reverse sneezing attack, which means the infection I thought was gone, is alive and kicking!! POOP!

Also, since I can't take being yelled at by my boss anymore, I think I will take a stroll through my neighborhood today and put my doggy fliers in mailboxes. At least it will give me something positive to focus on.

We are having guests this Friday and I want to give myself a list of things that need to be accomplished.

-clean the fridge
-give my girl a bath
-clean kitchen/dining room floor
-work on buying curtains (very cheaply)
-getting dining room table and chairs (very cheaply)
-dusting each room
-washing the floors
-food shopping
-cooking
-bake ch

Have an HP inspired, baby-step accomplishing day everybody!!

Kristen check-in

My main project is this paper again. Today so far, have looked at a couple articles, liked one of them, didn't like one of them. Wish I had more time to try to incorporate all these interesting things I'm finding into my paper! I don't even know what part I should be working on right now, though. I have an hour until this study session, so I think I'll spend a few minutes deciding what to do next, and then work on that.

another check-in

Haven't gotten a huge amount done since my check-in earlier. I did go to a study session for another class, which was productive. But it's scaring me how far I have to go on this paper. Tonight will be a night of work. Luckily I don't have a lot of other things scheduled like I usually do, so I'm free to work on this.

Plan of attack: start writing about SD article. First summarize, then relate it to my area.

check-in again

Didn't actually write anything about that article, just took notes--still feeling like I don't have enough context to be writing yet. But at the same time, I really want to progress to that stage, even if I'll have to do a little more reading/research later. So: there's one last article that I think will be really important in my lit review, so I'll finish going over/taking notes on that one, and then begin writing.

- notes on I article
- pull together ideas from key articles
- write a paragraph about it!

Yay! Did those three things. So now I have a lot of writing to do, but I think I have a good sketch of where it should be going—it's a 10-15 page paper, and what I have now is lots of notes and a couple pages of scattered writing. Lots to go, but I'm making progress. Rewarding myself with a break, and when I get back I think I'll just start writing the intro!

first check-in ever

Hi,

this is my first check-in, so let's see how it works - I'm excited on tackling my procrastination problem! :) I'm writing my thesis at the moment (or at least I'm trying) and am at a point where I start getting desperate about it, because I have to finish and it is still a long way to go...

Ok, so after lunch I got one hour to work on chapter 2 of my thesis. So I will

scan the articles I need for the 1st part of it to get the necessary facts

write half a page based on that and the notes I've already taken

PS: Great start-off picture, motivates me somehow. :)

PPS: I'm still only at chapter 2, yes, which is why I'm desperate - my procrastination really got in the way! so I'd be really thankful for support because only thinking about the work ahead of me and the time I've got left already gets me down and feeling guilty again...

Welcome tuffl

Welcome tuffl - this is a good safe place to be with some friendly people.

Rexroth

Ok, I didn't get it done and

Ok, I didn't get it done and won't have time to do it for the rest of the day. Instead I wrote an (important) email. I'll give it another try tomorrow and let you know in case I should manage at least the first point at sometime during the evening.

You can do it

You can do it just do not give up on yourself and keep trying. Sometimes the end results of our efforts do not ending being what you thought they should be, but I always find that it is better. See you tomorrow and good luck

hope-faith

posting is progress

that sounds like progress to me. at least you posted about it and were accountable. If you're like me, those are huge steps.

"fall down seven times, get up eight" - japanese proverb

thanks!

thanks! that cheered me up. :) I really need this to not slip back into not doing anything at all since "it doesn't matter anyway because I already feel guilty" - what a confused logic, I know! so right now I'm doing some reading for the first task for at least half an hour, then I'll have to go. I'm at it right now. Important for tomorrow: check in again and get something of it actually written down instead of procrastinating "usefully" by only reading the relevant articles again

might as well give up

> I really need this to not slip back into not doing anything at all since "it doesn't matter anyway because I already feel guilty" - what a confused logic, I know!

this happens to me nearly daily. I have some good weeks when it doesnt, but those are rare.

BUT the good news is that this thinking is slowly fading away do to daily drumming upon it here. It doesnt have the strength it once did. I almost never follow it unquestioningly like i used to. I know now that it's wrong thinking. It still grips me, but at least it always gets a fight these days!

i hope for you similar progress in your journey, and even more.

The day didnot go as smoothly as the list indicated I visited with a friend for about an hour then the two of us went for a mile run. This cut down the time I spent at the library. I am a little worried as I have to presentations tommorrow; one five minute and the other  minutes they both seem accomplishable if I can get going. The five minute one I have to hand in a paper with it and the 7 minute one I would like to do a powerpoint but I suck at powerpoints. Hope to be in bed by 1am or 1:30am. Currently at a friend's place because it is cleaner than mine therefore easier to work in.
