Procrastinators Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from chronic procrastination.
Tomorrow is a new day. Every day I think I will be on time towkr the nexxt day, no reason why now, I can do this etc etc -- and then I sabotage myself and make sure I am late/off balance/drive like a maniac etc etc
Dare I hope that change is possible? I am afraid to wirte here that it will be different tomorrow becs I have checked in with this group, and then just be all let down and disappointed AGAIN
Of course you can! Be kind to yourself, and start out with a goal that you KNOW you can make, and reward yourself. Maybe, be 5 minutes earlier tomorrow. The trick is to re-learn how success feels. We procrastinators tend to be really hard on ourselves.

((((Birdlady))) Yes, yes, yes! Change is possible :) Just take a wander around this forum and you'll see little triumphs all over the place. Check out the Weekend Madness thread if you haven't already. And check my 'Lucky cold turkey' thread in a few because I'll be posting something relevant. This place is proof that change IS possible!
And by the way, if you come on here and post that you've had a bad day, or nothing's changed, or you don't post at all for a while, *nobody* is going to go 'oh, you've let us down and disappointed us'. You can get away from that here. You will only find support, trust me!
There is always hope, just keep coming back and checking in. Post just one or to things that you would like to accomplish and then come back and post when you have achieved them.
Acceptance from p. 449 of Alcoholics Anonymous, the Big Book of AA
And acceptance is the answer to all my problems today. When I am disturbed, it is because I find some person, place, thing, or situation--some fact of my life--unacceptable to me, and I can find no serenity until I accept that person, place, thing, or situation as being exactly the way it is supposed to be at this moment. Nothing, absolutely nothing happens in God's world by mistake. Until I could accept my alcoholism, I could not stay sober; unless I accept life completely on life's terms, I cannot be happy. I need to concentrate not so much on what needs to be changed in the world as on what needs to be changed in me and in my attitudes.

One question to anyone here: do you have to edit your post by a certain time in order to keep being able to edit? For instance, today, I cannot edit my original post from many hours ago.I just have a reply button on that post. Yet yesterday I was able to edit all day and night. Not quite understanding how that works.
Because someone else edits your post, you can no longer access that same post to do strikethroughs, etc. What I usually do, is copy my to do list into another post below the person or person's who replied to me. Hope this makes sense, if not please let me know. Have a great day!!

Some advice on collecting money...I have to do this a lot for my business. You have a right to that money. It is yours. You performed a service or gave a loan, and the other party has (innocently or not) avoided their responsibility to pay you back in a fair time. You deserve that money, and you shouldn't be apologetic for asking.
If I were you, say something like: "Hi, this is hope, and I feel a little awkward asking this, but remember the money you borrowed from me? It's been quite a while now and I was wondering when (NOT IF) I can pick that up from you. Wednesday? Saturday? Times are a little rough and I hate to admit that I need it. (Get a firm time from them, not a wishy-washy one) Thanks so much!"
DON'T be scared and ask for permission ("CAN you send it" "CAN I pick it up" etc) You don't need permission. They know they owe you. Be very polite and friendly, but be firm.
Tired and running late today due to time change and sick doggie. I have two dogs, one is an elderly border collie, and he has an upset stomach. I think someone might have slipped him a BBQ pork chop this weekend when we had company for dinner, he really can't tolerate a change in his diet anymore. Anyway, I was up at 2 am cleaning up poop and I went to bed late because of the dumb time change. I wish they wouldne't mess with the effing time.
Anyway, I did not make it to the gym but I exercised at home and was at work about 9:30. My "on call" week starts tomorrow so I'll be very busy this week. I'll stay busy today and the work day will go by fast. Tonight I'll take it easy, it's TV night with House and 24 lol.
Anyway, I'm going for coffee now - our sink is finally fixed - and settle in to make my todo list for the day.
UPDATE 1 pm wow where has this day gone? I had a meeting at 10, a meeting at 11, and a meeting at noon. I still haven't made my todo list. arghhh. Well, at least the day is going by fast!
UPDATE 2 pm my todo list is done, at 2 pm lol, but still now I feel organized. I'm going to straighten my desk, fill up my water bottle, and get started on Item #1. I have 3 items, each approx 1 hour, so that should take me to the end of the day. Item #1 is for Project V, and the other two items are for my on call week which begins tomorrow. Off to the races, the good news is that when these items are done I can go home and I'm really looking forward to that lol.
UPDATE 3:30 Item #1 completed, on to Item #2.
UPDATE 4:30 Item #2 completed, now working on Item #3.
Update 5:50 Item #3 kinda finished then got pulled into a boss meeting about nothing. Now I'm going home!

I'm also on the receiving end of someone's procrastination...annoying and makes me see how frustrating I can be, but also kind of satisfying to be the responsible one of once :)
I need to:

Somewhat less urgent (though I'd like to get through as much of this as possible, underlined are the ones I'll do 1st in this category)

I work up late today and was rushing around which always means that I avoid actually doing anything at work because I "need a break for a few minutes." Of course a few minutes turns into a few hours, and I leave work feeling depressed and angry at myself. This past weekend wasn't very good because of all the worry of not doing things at work. I even came to work on Saturday to try to get a few things done. I really don't want to do that anymore. But I know I need to be gentle on myself too.

It was a lovely meal with great company and I would marry her tommorow or is that the excellent red wime speaking?
In vino veritas
There is a famous Latin phrase "In vino veritas". It means truth in wine. . Can I be a bridesmaid? Glad you had a great time.
Helen's Checkin
I had a good Sunday. I surprised myself and worked 8 hours. Moistly on the kitchen.
Today here is my plan
Self care 2 hours, Household 2 hours, Admin/ job hunting1 hour, Exercise 1 hour, Creativework/ study 3 hours, Decorating 1 hour, Cooking 1 hour .
That is 11 hours of purposeful activity. I am used to about half that but I have varied the tasks and I like exercise, creative work and self care so 6 of those hours are not such a struggle.
Here are my tasks
Morning routine (Getdressed,Brush hair, Eat breakfast, Clean teeth (2 minutes),Wash face,Clean loo,Checkin, EFT tapping)
Tidy living room
mop kitchen floor
All the washing up.
Clean kitchen surface
CV
Scrub hall floor
Clear hall
Register Agency
Study plan
Read poetry book
Read Java book
Sow seeds
Plant rose bush
More from Helen...
Actually the CV and job hunting are urgent and important and I am seriously procrastinating by not going for it.
Today I have found a site where I have been registered with 10 agencies/ employers. YAY! I have opened my CV and looked to see what needs to be completed.
That is a start. Now I am going to do something else for a while as I feel overwhelmed. Might do more later today, if not tomorrow.
Uggggggh Job hunting
I had my first telephone interview. I don't think it went very well (sigh) but I suppose I can call it practice. I hate getting phone calls 'out of the blue' and telephone interviews are a nightmare but some will go better than others so I won't despair just yet. (Shaking myself down to let it go).
