This is my first ever check in!! Woo hoo! I don't think it's the right time of day to do it (or proabably the wrong thread), but I can't put this off any longer! haha
Hopefully, this will be the start of something new and useful, and that will last even once the novelty of it rubs off.
1. Complete ISS Research Proposal by 2:30pm
2. Study 15 pages of earth system science notes by 4pm
3. Update Facebook group by 9pm

Scheduled for the day--not much, just bible study 8:30-10ish. If I have time, I'd also like to go to a seminar 5-7, but that's not critical.
Biggest task for today is to finish my part of the pset grading. This will probably take most of the day, and that's OK.
I also have a number of smaller tasks which need to get done:
*Clean up lab nb/bench/etc.
*Email about scheduling
*Send CV
Then, I have a number of lower-priority tasks:
*Analyze biosensor data, make slide
*Redo seq
*Finish proc samples
*Start gene specificity analysis
OK, emailing about scheduling now, then I'll work on grading. I'll work on grading until lunchtime, then I'll give myself a break to work on sth else for a few hours after lunch.
Well, yesterday sucked. I felt very tired all day, did nothing on my todo list, and went to bed at 8 pm. I didn't even stay up to watch American Idol! So, I'm forgiving myself for having a bad day, as I did feel genuinely tired, and I'll make today a better day with your help. Thanks Lucky for starting us out and the wishes for a good day! Some days you're the frog, some days you are the mouse, today I'm the mouse.
I needed to check in early today and start off the day On Track. Now I'm going to exercise, and I will check in very frequently today!
UPDATE: 9 am exercise done, quick check of email then shower.
UPDATE: 10:30 shower and conference call done, now finishing up todo list for the rest of the day

explanation of the mouse and the frog picture, this picture was taken in India during a monsoon, and the assumption was that the frog was carrying the mouse through the deep (for a mouse) water. So today you guys are carrying me!

Thank you for sharing. I don't know what being a mouse or a frog means- don't think I want to be either. We all have thoses days and it is so wonderful to be able to share them. This too shall pass, whether you forgive yourself or not, give yourself permission or not, so why suffer, you may as well forgive yourself and give yourself permission, acceptance does not mean we have to like it.
As a compulsive overeater it's an interesting discovery to see that some days I'm really hungry and I don't understand why, it wasn't that way the day before. The body seems to have it's own rythymn, and it takes courage & trust for me to listen.
By being the example of forgiving yourself & moving on, will make it easier for me the next time I have a bad day, thanks!!
