While watching the 2010 Olympics, I thought of how much mood and performance are related.
" Mood words are used as a part of task-relevant thinking. They are an important part of a coach's sport vocabulary when giving an athlete instructions because they are simple, easy to understand, and do not require translation" (http://www.answers.com/topic/mood-word)
What "mood words" will you use today?

hope4meandu check-in (7:49PM)
Hey Guys,
Very busy day...first cleaning job in the a.m., which went very well (but my bod is killing me) and then to my old office to collect things, etc., which also went very well. They couldn't have been nicer and I'm glad for it and know that I can go back and will and that even though I ended it badly, they (some of them) really did like me...oh well..
Have so much to accomplish tomorrow that I'm kind of in overwhelm, so here goes:
-find p.t. place
-make up black & white flyers and go around neighborhood and put in mailboxes, with my girl.
-find vet places, pet stores, etc. and go and leave my resume & flyers
-call 401k person (need to cash it out)
-resumes
-food shopping
-print out song
-there is this place (supposedly) in my neighborhood that is a dog care place, want to call tomorrow
-look into returning to school to become a vet tech
-go to old workplace and say hi and make amends?
With gratitude,
hope

Journey 11 am
I swear I checked in earlier! I must have forgotten to hit the button. Oh well, anyway, I'm here!
Every time you get up and get back in the race, one more little piece of you starts to fall into place - (from "Stand" by Rascal Flatts)
Journey 2:30
Having quite a stressful day at work. I made a mistake in scheduling so I have to scramble around and get something done for this weekend that I wasn't expecting. Also I have to admit to people that I made a mistake and ask for help in gettin git fixed ugh.
I was toastmaster for a contest today at my toastmaster's club, and although I'm extremely happy and proud that I can do that - 5 years ago I would have literally passed out on the floor rather than speak in front of a group - it's still a bit nerve-wracking.
Reviewing my todo list to see what I can get done this afternoon.

Rexroth Check In
Today I've been catching up with a lot I tell myself I 'SHOULD' have done yesterday
Done:
Up and tidied mess from yesterday
Checked emails and later post
Emailed travel people to ask them not to send any more info as for the time being I'm not fit enough to get away
Wrote needs and wants
Wrote journal
Wrote todo list for week having prayed and thought on what I am and am not getting on with
Made a new shopping list for the week
Researched benefit question for friend and phoned her and suggested a letter she could write - felt nostalgic for when I did the work for a living and glad I don't now
Did a load of washing which is now drying
It is now nearly three in the afternoon
Todo:
Clean the kitchen floor - this is very necessary
That means I have caught up from yesterday and I am not sure what to do next. There are plenty of possibilities.
Regards Rexroth
Rexroth Update
Done:
Cleaned the kitchen floor
Applied for coaching support from my old trade union for a problem that they had previous helped me with very successfully
Now it is nearly five in the afternoon and I feel I am where I 'SHOULD' have been at this time yesterday and that I am making no progess forward just like in a book where someone says 'here you have to keep running to stay in the same place'
Regards Rexroth
Rexroth Check Out
Done:
Phoned friend research on net - yes real research not just messing about and lots of messing about as well.
Todo:
Go to bed and get to sleep
Night Folks

kromer 9:20 CI
OK yesterday and today all I want to do is sleep, but that's not a realistic plan.
So, here's what I want to get done:
*
Plan for and give recitation section*Finish and post pset
*
Order new primers, clean bench (working on this now), get new samples, set up het-het pairs*Use OrderedList package to compare 3 datasets (have made some progress on this)
*Do GSEA on new dataset (working on this now)
*Planning for the week
OK, going to spend 30-40 min planning recit section, then I'm going to order primers and finish/post pset, then I'm going to clean bench and check back in.

Show up (done)
I use the slogans for mood words. 1. First things first 2. Progress not pefection 3. break it down 4 Next 3 things , Which I need now to get started. Thanks for being here.
Love those pictures and love the starter ((Vic))

ck in
Hi, love every one's slogans.
1. did windows, letter, declluttering. Used the slogan, a job worth doing is worth doing poorly, I seem to need to start at the bottom to get myself going..
Once I get started, it is not so bad. I think I will start trying "visualize" . seeing myself working and liking it. (may as well go for the Gold!!)
I am organizing my procrastingation items in 2 catagories. I am lumping all of them in one group and I am finding that I can work on the average ones with friends that also have average ones.
1. The regular, average ones.
2. The fearful, painful, sabotoge, ones that make me sick., that no one could understand but here.
The phrase "Why so serious " runs through my mind. When I get too serious, everything seems so difficult.
7pm ck in took care of several average procrastination items:1. signed son up for spring soccer on line, the last in person sign up was 2/20 , thank goodness have on line sign up- one mistake is I accidently checked female instead of male, but my son will take care of that.2. Sent e-mail about my new cell phone service, my voicemail does not work, no one can leave a message- there is noting about it on line and I tried for days to figure it out, I tried calling but could not get through, finally sent e-mail- I went through this before with the web service, they had to set it up, but there was no infor about that. I feel jipped- the price is great but no customer service.
3. Washed some windows.
Did not tackle any of the painful, costly, past due for years, procratination items. There is a woman that is sort of trying to coach me with it but it is scary because she doesn;t understand, but it seems easier to do the average ones after speaking with her. The mood thing helps. But I know it will take more than a better mood to do the paralyzing ones.
So do I vic
So do I vic and thanks for starting the thread.
