Thanks Edge for the starter

It reminds me to take the good with the bad. I procrastinate most with getting money due me back and doing things for people I really want to do. To me, that's craziness, so I guess I fit right in?

At my job, I tell myself constantly something else is coming and it's going to be good, at least better than this, so I'm really trying to keep a good attitude, and this is my only hope.

The holidays are coming and I feel sad that we won't have family with us. I just discovered my "family" gene a few years ago, but it's too many years of rejecting them and now that's all I get back, but I understand it and keep trying to increase the ties.

So grateful I'm abstinent in other programs.

Take good care everyone.

fudoshin: just for today: 6:25pm

Please do not leave advice.  Thank you.  Prayers welcome.

I would like to set the following requirements for myself .  I intend
to keep these promises for one day, then one week, then until December
18th:

  • I'm on time for classes and appointments and I turn work in
on time, when I say that I shall. What that means is that I am up to
date on the work I have due on the given day, not necessarily finished
with all the backwork.  But if I have a paper due at a specific time
and date, I turn it in, on that date.
  • I am going to avoid the following sites and phone lines:
    • social networking sites, including facebook, twitter, youtube
    • dating sites
    • chatting sites: woome, chat with a stranger, etc.  I cannot be on a
chatting site.  MMORPGs count as "chat sites".  IRC.  The only
      exception is 12 step-related and work-related chat.
    • chat programs
    • MMORPGs
    • YouTube, Google videos, Crackle, hulu, dailymotion, unless the video is specifically recommended by a teacher
    • SayNow.com, and calling anyone's associated fan line
  • I will avoid blogging publicly about private issues.  Writing about movies is therefore okay, b/c it's not a private issue.
  • I
will exercise once a day or at least thirty minutes.  One of walking,
jogging, running, swimming, taking a fitness class or karate.
  • I will brush my teeth, floss, use listerine for thirty seconds and a periodontic brush each night.
  • I will brush with a regular tooth brush each morning and use listerine for thirty seconds.

Why am I doing this?

  • I need and want to finish my English degree.  I cannot
afford to have an incomplete, as the dean will put me on suspension.  I
need to meet with the DOR and get funding so that I can go to school
next term.  But the truth is I want to do this, because I WANT to
finish my English degree.  Believe it or not, this is shit I actually
do want to do for myself.
  • I want to learn the math necessary
for me to continue on my MS program.  I need the money from my MS
program in order to live right now.
  • I want a fellowship for next term so that I can feel good knowing I'm employed and not taking out too much of a loan.
  • I
want to get an acting part in a Sofia Coppola film and I believe that
meeting the casting director every week will necessitate looking
spectacular each time I meet her. This means I have to be my best when
    I do.
  • I want to get an agent, and I believe that looking
good for a casting director and being seen by people in and around the
theater will help me get that big break I'm looking to get.
  • I have to work a job at the conservatory, and I have to look good when I do my job.
  • Having my assignments done will lower my stress for my acting career and make me more available to myself.
  • Having my assignments done helps me to feel motivated to work out.
  • Working out helps me connect with my higher power, it helps me relieve any tension in my neck, and eschew neck pain.
  • Working out helps me to do my school work and focus better as an actor.
  • There's
a hot dude at school and I don't want to feel embarrassed about my body
whenever I see him.  I understand my embarrassment is not about the way
I look, but the way I feel about myself.  Making myself feel better
though exercise, accomplishment and being on time, will help me to own
myself and feel good about myself in the face of others, including
    those I find attractive.

Hi all,

Late check in today. Had computer problems and I am actually using a loaner until mine is fixed. Need new mother board and power source. At least that is what we are starting with. So glad to have this loaner computer, I am become co-dependant on my check ins and other computer resources that I use to organize and make my life function. That my be a bad "things" but for now it works.

This has been a very successful week I have not accomplished all that I set out to do but I have been motivated, consistance and empowered.

Here is my finally list for the week.

Thanks Lucky and I have fun doing it, fun make me more productive.

From the Frown it is obvious that I did not accomplish everything that I had planned to accomplish but I am ok with it. I have had a very successful week, computer problems prevented me from accomplishing some items, a couple of stressful situations that occured prevented me from accomplishing some other task but for the most part I stayed focused and this list helped out a whole lot.

I have also realized not to beat myself up if I do not accomplish some task on the day that I indicated but to be flexable and keep working the plan.

I have also realized that I can not plan big task on Monday and Tuesday and that I need to avoid anything but the basics on those days. I only have a short time frame to accomplish task when I get home from work and I need to keep that in mind, no matter how bad I want to do more then what I can everything can not be done now I have to have time and not get frustrated with my self.  One step at a time.

My goal for next week is to accomplish the daily stuff and maintance stuff Monday-Friday and Project stuff on the weekend.

I do have a few items I will attempted to accomplish between now and 7:30 after that I am going to do something that I want to do and that is work on making some Christams Ornaments.

I am off and running agian. Thanks for being here this week.

Items to plan

  1. Type in test Smile
  2. Rubiks http://www.youcandothecube.com/cuber-corner/
  3. Organize folder for games

movingalong, taking a look at the truth

Hello all.

I had a week full of frustration, because I was trying to control the outcome of other people's actions!

Yesterday, I spent some time tuning into Higher Power, and letting go.

Today I awoke ready to take on my OWN tasks, with Higher Power's help.

Journey at noon wearing grumpy pants

Yesterday SUCKED people.   I was supposed to support some computer installs over the weekend and my work laptop died.   Our help desk is in India, and due to cutbacks no technicians available on the weekend.  I had to get someone to do my part of the installs, and still be on the conference calls all morning and then all night with nothing to do but try to help coordinate.   I had planned on getting some other work done while I was online but of course that didn't happen.  I was planning to take tomorrow off to clean up for Thanksgiving (I'm hosting, not cooking!  Everyone is bringing food).   But now I gotta go in to the office to try to get the computer working before I go on call Tuesday.  ARRGGGHHH.

Anyway, I let this completely derail me and I did nothing but worry, fret and take naps.

Now I'm over it, with half a day for house cleaning, but tired from working last night.  I slept 8 hours all together but it wasn't good sleep.  My plan for today is to do laundry, bathe the stinky dog and let the other one slide, and do as much surface cleaning as I can.   In this case I don't care if the house is really clean, it just needs to look presentable in the company areas.   The house is NOT a disaster, a statement I would not have been able to make two years ago when I joined this site and I thank you all for that.

Tomorrow I will head into the office, well rested, and prepared to pitch a total bitch fit about the laptop.  Wish me luck lol!

Showing up (done)

thank you- I love rainbows for both their beauty and their meaning, a true gift for me to be reminded of my HP Today: /Keep asking my hp for the willingness to be willing to do more.

from: Like The Master Ministries, :The rainbow was not only a promise from God but it was a reminder. That is the meaning of the rainbow.

The Rainbow. rainbows will appear only when water droplets are airborne. That is why we can see rainbows in water fountains and in the mist after a rain storm.
When rain or mist is present a rainbow can appear. When it does appear, it is actually a full circle. A rainbow appears when sunlight reflects off the inside of a water drop. The full circle cannot usually be seen from the ground but only from above the earth. Someone in an airplane can see the full bow. This means that we may not see the full bow, but God will always see it. It is also interesting to discover that rainbows contain all of the colors of the spectrum with the inner part of the bow being violet and the outer red.

Lucky has a think

I promised I'd do some planning when I had time - well, I have time now as housemate and dog are still asleep at midday British time :)

I'm going to simplify a bit into daily and weekly tasks (actually let's say 'things I want to do' because that makes me happier than 'tasks'...) I might restart the estimating-times thing if I feel sufficiently undaunted, but I'm not going to sweat it if that feels like too much.

I'm also going to list some backlogs and some projects. I'll work on the backlogs one at a time and the projects randomly as I feel like it (only rule: do something on at least one project each week.)

Home backlogs: email, housework, paperwork, budget

Work backlogs: contracts, filing, email, paper, tasks

Projects - you'll like this bit :) :

Niceness Project: learn about carbon reduction, ethical consumerism and activism. Put my learnings into action. Do fun stuff for charity. Do random acts of kindness.

Joy Project: Spend some time just experiencing and enjoying life.  Come up with fun or beautiful things to do and do them. Make positive blog posts.

Inspiration Project: Find things that inspire me and share them with others.

and the very important :D Mary Project: Further my study of Mary Poppins and P.L. Travers!

Dailies:

Home:

Check diary for things I want to do today
Backlog

Read bible
Read a bit (of something else...!)
Write a bit

Write down things I want to do tomorrow

Work:

Cycle to/from work (take time to get used to this - not every day right away)
Show up 1/2 hr early
Show up looking smart
Pod checks
Backlog
Urgent stuff (i.e. can't wait till tomorrow)
Contracts
Filing
Email
Paper
Tasks
AND VERY IMPORTANTLY... Make it through the day without personal internet use!

Weeklies: (just for home and can be done whenever I feel like it during the week)

Catch up with personal paperwork
Budget
Phone parents
Spend some time on at least one of my projects
Put coppers in charity tin

Whew! What do you think? I just need to remember that this is *not* a standard I have to live up to, it's a useful bit of structure *to serve me* in getting my life running smoothly - these are habits not rules, not everything will get done every day and that's fine.
