"fall down seven times, get up eight" - japanese proverb

Vic 11/15

Consistency Theory:When our inner systems (beliefs, attitudes, values, etc.) all support one another and when these are also supported by external evidence, then we have a comfortable state of affairs. The discomfort of cognitive dissonance occurs when things fall out of alignment.

Show up (done) one more day. Did at least 3 things as a result of just showing up.

Hey all, I'm Jackson. Had H1N1 and fell very behind in my school work for college. Have 3 papers to do, and the clock is ticking because they are already late and I have extensions on all three that are quickly ending. The longer they take the more the Professors will be annoyed, maybe take marks off, etc.

I am a chronic procrastinator. Projects such as these are the worst, especially when they pile up. The sickness was the icing on the cake.

I'm glad I found this site! My main focus for the next 4-8 days will be these papers. I am so behind it is not even funny. I have other things I want to accomplish too, but the majority of my time must be this work.

The Nestle Paper (due tuesday)

The Hume Paper (due this week- thurs latest)

The Art Paper (due Wed)

I am going to try my best to meet these deadlines, but it will be very hard. I have procrastinated on them for a week now. Just brutal.

I have always been ashamed of my procrastination, and in denial about it. I sincerely hope that this website works as an aid for me.

I will update with my progress! As far as other things I intend to do today.

Make distressed jeans (cut holes etc).

Have dinner with my parents.

okay, I'm off. Will update on Monday! I am going to record how many hours I put into the papers! I am shooting for 8. Thinking that the bare minimum should be 5, and would be cool if I could manage 10.

welcome Jackson!

Hope you'll stick around long enough for the miracle - When I got active here I had 6 years of unpaid taxes, hadn't  even billed my clients for months and had already lost one client due to screwing up deadlines, and was paying more than $1,000 a year in personal late fees and penalties NOT for lack of money but just because I could not make myself DO the work.  Today my taxes are all paid up, my bills are mostly paid on time and my late fees this year will be under $200. Not perfection, but major progress.  You're so right to jump in with the daily check-ins. See ya there!

C0nvararia attempting recovery yet again.Monday 7.55am and updat

I have delelted the spider solitaire link from my bookmark and am hoping that this will make it easier to stop wasting time onit.
I have a medical appointment at 10 am and from past experience it may involve a wait of several hours before I get to see the doctor. The plan is to be active with routine tasks untill itis time to leave and then tohave my book club book with me to read.  It would be great to have the book read and thought about  this time, rather than relying on a quick scan through internet reviews ....a much more authentic way to participate in this social activity.
For the next 90 minutes  and beyond I am planning to:

  • shower to shoes
  • start a load of laundry
  • exercise the doggy and pick up his poos
  • Start on the soup
  • ATM
  • Medicare
  • call mechanic
  • call R1 and R2
  • call brother and act on the information he gives me
  • try on some clothin
  • read some of my book
  • try on clothing on hold
  • come home and check in

checked on my mice, went to church

Now I'm at the library, and I'm having a hard time getting started on work. I'm supposed to read a bunch of papers, and I'm really not that interested. But I'm going to do it anyway, b/c I know the work is important. Heading to the chatbox now.

Happy Sunday!!

Have a very busy day ahead, hope I'm up to it.

I've been having these thoughts that I will be able to give my 2 week notice tomorrow. When I woke up last night to help my girl with her coughing attack, it came into my mind again....of course I'm probably just delusional. The day is not over yet.

Last night I asked a book store owner if I can put up my dog care poster and I did and he said yes.

I'll check in later with a list of what needs to get accomplished today.

Keep on keeping on guys,
hope

pro's CI - 9:30am

I haven't started a day thread in a long time! Someone in the chat said they didn't know how to do it, so here I am to do it. It's not at all hard. You just start a new forum topic with the date as the subject and "Good Morning" as the message!

I have a lot to do today, though right now I'm just drinking coffee.

Nice starter, Pro, Thanks - enjoy your day!!

Coffee is one of my favorite things!!
