Check-in (noon)

Hi All,

Have been absent for a while, but have showed up to work every day except Monday. Mondays are the hardest for me. Once I'm here, it's fine, well not really, but...

I really need to focus on showing up and self-care for me an my girl (dog).

I started p.t. for my back this week and I will go to the gym at lunchtime. I'm scared, it's been about 1.5 months away. I don't want to overdo, so I'll have to feel my way, with gentleness being my main concern.

Self care:
-wake up early during the week to spend more time with girl on a.m. walk.
-brush teeth 2 x's a day

Dog (Yoffee) care:
-clean ears at least once or twice a week
-bath once a month
-brush at least 2-3 times per week
-get natural flea spray
-look into homeopathy for her bronchitis/allergies

Keep trying to keep the faith that HP will help my girl.

Take care everyone,
hope4meandu

Hi Pro Buddies!

The xray shows a little piece of bone has broken off at the side of my foot. A radiologist will review the xray to see if there is anything more. This is better than immediately seeing fractured bones at first viewing of the x-ray, etc.

Anyway, since I wasn't sure what was going on with my foot, I wasn't at the gym this morning. At work I made sure I got my most important projects done for the day, before going to my dr's appt. After the appt, I got some lunch before going back to the office.

Arriving at the office, one of my bosses had emailed a number of requests to me, so I worked on those during the afternoon. After work, I layed down for a little while, since the day had been a little overwhelming.

Procrastination effect #1: for a vacation trip this summer, I put my Health Insurance cards in a travel pouch, rather than in my wallet. I had procrastinated on putting them back in my wallet, and couldn't find them for my appt today. Fortunately I had a photocopy in a folder at work. ((sigh)). I have requested replacement cards from the insurance company. (Humor: Prediction: the day after the replacement cards arrive, I will find the original cards "in a safe place" here in the condo ;)

Procrastination effect #2: I wasn't sure if the dr would put me on crutches. This made me realize how far behind I am in getting the condo in order. I am still going through papers (such as still trying to find the insurance cards ;) ((humor: feels minorly overwhelmed)) I am going to visit my dad this weekend. But today has made me want to stay home & work on my condo.

Anyway, I am fine. Just realizing I need to progress more with recovery from my various sorts of procrastination ;) Good luck to everyone else, too! :)

Have a great night! :)

Took son to work, food store, post office ,Showing up-(done) I can't believe how much I get from just showing up.

Sent e-mail yesterday  and got reply from time share. I was too scared to open it until today. We did not lose our weeks, but we lost the transfer fee (thank God)($400). They were very gracious and understanding. I was so grateful. This whole mess was very upsetting, but I did not shut down, that is a miracle! because of PA thank you.

I need to keep showing up, I now want to shut down because we got an answer.           1. step work, papers, pick up son, store with younger son, dinner, list. (donetake ladder to worker and meeting meet friend

Back from vacation today, need to do a good day's work...always a little challenging after a week at the beach! I'll chat through stuff and not freak out if I don't get as far as I'd like.

Tasks for today are:
*Make a schedule for next 5 days
*Ask about lab skills practice
*Bug EA about proposal
*Email KM, TL, and G about student seminar (will do this evening)
*Organize papers in lab
*Read TE's proposal and email w/ feedback

*Write up notch res. (working on this now))
*Get plane tickets (will do this evening)
*Change sheets (will do this evening)

Lower priority tasks are:
*Write up fgf res.
*Start working on new analysis strategy (want to at least microburst this evening)
*Change bike seat, fiddle w/ brakes.
*Finish analysis for GD

*Read 1 paper

Breaks are: Dinner w/ AG

OK, right now I'll make a schedule for the week, then I'll go bug EA, then I'll write up notch res, then I'll read TE's proposal and email him w/ feedback, then I'll organize papers in lab. Heading to chatbox now.

Update 12:35. I'm working on sending TE feedback. Babysteps for this are:
*Find a couple papers on fgf/ra in chick limb
*Read 1 of these papers
*Figure out Stra8 gonia obs
*Figure out whether will be about to stage
*Write up concern about preleps
*Write up 2 concerns from expt 2

Update 3:30--I'm working on writing up Notch res. First step is to open what I've done so far, and write up stuff from notch/jagged paper.

Had a nice time w/ friend, then spent some time outside enjoying the nice weather and reading a paper. Now, I'm going to write up notch and fgf results. Then I'll head home, send emails about student seminar and change sheets. AG is procrastinating more than me for once, so can't get plane tickets until tomorrow.

OK, heading to chatbox to work on writing up notch and fgf results.

Journey 9:15

Well, I just turned the duplicate Wednesday thread into the Thursday thread :D

Back in the office today.   Yesterday was an EXCELLENT day.  I worked hard all day even though I was working from home.   Keeping track of my hours in myhours.com helped a lot to keep me honest.  I think I'll do that again today.   It's a bit time-consuming but if it keeps me on track it's worth it.

I've been to the gym, read email and checked my calendar.   Now I'm going for a cup of tea, then make my todo list for the day.

Journey 1:30

I'm seeing a pattern here . . . I find myself posting every day about 1:30 or 2:00 to say that I'm having difficulty getting started on something.  Hmm, I'll have to think about that.

Anyway, I am going to work on Project P for the next hour.   I'm almost done with the first big chunk of this project and I want to finish this part and then take about a week away from it, then start on the next big chunk.  Chunk #2 will be much easier than Chunk #1 because I know how to approach it and I have the contacts I need.  The downside is that it will be more boring, but you can't have everything.

Here we go . . . later, friends.  Have a great afternoon.

Thanks

Great idea, I needed this one today. Vic

Journey 9:15

Good morning!  I took a day off yesterday and went to a museum with my sweet and funny sister in law.   It was a fun and relaxing day.   Now it's time to get back to work!

I've been to the gym, read email and checked my calendar, and had a nice healthy breakfast (to make up for the junk food we ate yesterday!).   Now for the todo list.  I'm working from home today, so it will take some focus and dedication to be productive today.   I'll check in frequently.

I feel that I've gotten off track a bit and have been spending too much time on computer games, so I'm tracking my time for a few days on myhours.com.  It's always a wake-up call to see where you are really spending your time.

Have a productive and enjoyable day everyone!

Jo

PS.  I'm getting tired of this sig, I think it's time to switch it up!

ok , thanks, I will not waste any more time trying to "transfer", or else that truely would mean I would end up with 12 hrs! ha ha
