"That feeling of uselessness and self-pity will disappear."

the promises of recovery

Just a note to say I made some progress tonight after work and dinner in dealing with my backlog of "stuff" here at home and got quite a few bags of clothes, etc. together and out to Goodwill. While I need to do much more of this, at least I made some progress on getting rid of unneeded stuff that is cluttering the house and my life. Most nights I am too tired to tackle this or I put it off - forever.

Yay, good job!  I'm trying to get rid of 20 years worth of accumulated clutter too.  I can't face it all at once, but a little bit at a time also gets the job done.

Thank you, Jo, for your encouraging words. I hope to post that I keep at this, bit by bit, inch by inch, rather than continuing to avoid doing it!

Showing up

This promise came true for me today because of PA. I spent time shopping yessterday, in and out today. It was my younger son's Bday today-15. I had so much fun with him and his brother today, plus found a display model gas grill for half price! Grilled food for the first time this summer.

Because I did not shut down after the vaction disaster- still not sure what will happen, but got to 12 step meeting yesterday on fear, was so good. We also spoke of the promises. I came to see that my version of the promises may not be reality. The reality is: I was useful today as a loving mom and because I did not shut down or get into addiction, I did not have to live in depression or self pity- I could appreciate and value the most precious thing I have- my son,  and for that I am grateful, for this program.

I think maybe my version of the promise would have been "I found my dream job today, and everyone helped me with all my problems and were nice abut it., and our vacation disater was all fixed."

Rest of today: Walk? I am not getting my exercise/ Gas? Store? Step work book?ok The only thing I have to do is not shut down- even if all I do is rest- I am really wiped out.

Hi Pro Buddies!

At the gym this morning, I did my full cardio, stretching, and ab exercises.

This morning at work was Super-Overload. While I don't officially have low blood sugar, not getting to eat at my regular time has kind of messed me up. I'm making it through the afternoon. I still have a couple more things to navigate in the next couple hours, before getting home. I'm ok, but it has just been kind of an overwhelming day.

7:15pm. Hanging out at home tonight. My plan for tonight was to go out this evening, but I think it was the right choice to stay home.

Have a great night, everyone! :)

Thank you, gals & guys, for being here! :)
