my wi-fi has been down; Recycler CI 4:45pm EST

Hi Pro Buddies!

Last Thursday night when I got home & was ready to go on the Internet to post my CI, my wi-fi was down. I didn't worry about it, thinking the IT guy would reboot the wi-fi server before the weekend. Friday was busy at work, so I didn't CI then. (sigh). Arriving home on Friday, Murphy's Law had the wi-fi still down, so on the weekend in between activities I was having internet + e-mail + PA withdrawal. (Aiiieee!!!) This afternoon I calmly & politely emailed the IT guy; he said he had been out of town and is now getting the wi-fi ready for tonight. However, I'm doing my CI now, because I am going out tonight and won't be home to use the wi-fi even if it is working ;) lol.

This morning, I took my car in to be serviced. After dropping it off, the shop's shuttle took me into uptown, then at the gym I showered & got ready for work. I did well at the staff meeting this morning and have updated my project list for the day/week. I got some things done this morning, ate lunch here in the building, and did some mapquesting during the rest of my lunch hour. In the afternoon, there was a communication that I needed to pass along to my boss, so I did that; and small projects are what I have worked on the rest of the day.

Next: after work, ride train and pick up my car which has been serviced. Go to the meeting of my other 12-step program tonight, then meet with sponsor afterward.

The last few weeks I've been challenged in sleeping well, so I will try to have as sound a sleep as I can tonight. Sending gentle vibes to anyone else who is having this issue too.

Have a great night, everyone! :)

Posting late today because my schedule has not gone according to plan for the day – the theme of my last few weeks really! Thought I could take dd to vacation bible school 3 hrs a day this week and have the time to work but it is a bit too overwhelming – not their fault, just lots of kids and teen helpers and even tho it is singing and dancing which she loves there are moments when it is just too much and i need to be there – so I will be volunteering at the school all week instead of working in that time. I know God will help me make the best use of my time the rest of the day and that it will be good for her and worth the sacrifice. Not to mention good for me – the simple truth delivered in a children’s bible study is sometimes just the message I need to hear – todays themes: God is always with us, I will fear not… and “I get down, He lifts me up” So I am happy to come to him this week as a little child and be strengthened!

I did something good for myself for my bday – ordered a blackberry – super cheap with my upgrade – so not the splurge it sounds like! My hope is to be more connected here and to clients even when my schedule with dd dictates that I am away from my laptop as it seems to be more and more these days. Can’t wait for it to arrive and try it out and see if PA site chat or posts work on it!!I am doing much better today than I have in about a week – a slow process to get here – but finally working well again and a new routine is coming together for me.

Word and prayer for the day: Psalm  63:7-8

Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings. My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me.

originally posted on the wrong day so here it is again!

Good monday morning everyone!  I didn't really get as much done around the house this weekend as I would have liked but I did some babysitting yesterday afternoon which was more important than housework.  I kept my grandson for a few hours while his Dad did a side job and let his mom get a bit of rest (she's 9 months pregnant!).  Then watched a movie with the fam last night . . . so altogether a fun day!  Although the dusting and vacuuming did not get done.  We watched "Knocked Up" which was a sweet and fun movie but I was surprised at some rather graphic scenes and the f-word in every other sentence!

So anyway, Monday . . .I have no pressing deadlines so I am trying to give myself some deliverables and due dates.   I have a few projects that are just starting up or between pushes and these are the times I have a tendency to slack off instead of using the time wisely.  I want to use this week to get ahead on some things and catch up on lower priority projects.  This requires some reflection on my project list, and I need to allow myself time for thinking and planning.

I will make my todo list and then catch up on my overflowing email inbox, then check back here.  Not using the chatbox in the office anymore.

Update 1 pm just got back from Toastmasters, taking a short lunch break, then back to email cleanup.

Which is the "official" june 1 checkin?

Smile

One of the things that I need to admit to myself is the importance of checking in FIRST THING every day. I sometimes get complacent (when things are going pretty well) OR avoidant (when things aren't going so well) and in either situation I don't check in right away. But in the end I think that failing to do so undermines my efforts to recovery from my addiction to avoiding work.

My tasks today:

1) Resume my daily spiritual reading

2) Finish very old Project Q-I

3) Write Project P-8

4) Advance the ball on very old Project M-4

5) Get my work table in my office cleared of clutter.

Heading to chatbox

Attitude

 First on my list is working on my attitude and gratitude:Reading;

"Suggestion for living in recovery: every morning after we wake up we should reflect on three concepts, pray over them, and talk to God over them.  This brief meditation will transform our lives,

#1  “God’s love for me is unconditional.”  God doesn’t love me because He wants this or that from me.  He doesn’t love me for what I do.  He loves me for who I am.  We need to reflect on this every day.  We are infinitely lovable.   We are worthwhile.  We have value.  Negative thoughts about ourselves are foreign in recovery.  Don’t take this for granted.   Sometimes we get down on ourselves.  Many Teens, including those who appear to be the most conceited, are down on themselves.   We have to remember: God loves me and God loves you unconditionally. We have value to the One who is the Source of all Good.   #2 God forgives me.    He forgives me for the times I have been lazy or selfish or self centered. When we  we are full of self loathing,  God doesn’t want that. God loves us too much to allow us to wallow in guilt and self-loathing.  He forgives us.  He wants us happy.    #3 God is with me.  Part of our hello to God in the morning.  God is with me.  What is today going to throw at me?  Is it going to be more than I can handle?  No, it will not be.  And here is where St. Paul’s words  fit in.  “I can do all things in Him who strengthens me.”  That’s Philippians 4:13.  Write that verse in your heart.  There is nothing that is going to happen today or tomorrow or next week or month or year that I will not be able to handle together with the One who loves me so much.

thanks 4sharing vic!

Really needed to read this today Vic - thank you so much for sharing! Falls right in line with the theme God is dealing with me about - routines to establish balance and stay connected... your post yesterday was a great confirmation for me of that simple truth. I had started to feel so scattered and disorganized and it was all because my daily routine has so drastically changed for the summer all while I am in the midst of my busiest time of year for work - i was overloaded and overwhelmed when all i needed was some quiet time in prayer to ask God to show me a new routine to fit my changed responsibilities! A devotional like this or godcalling in the morning for my study routine in the morning before i post here is a great start  - I have faith the rest will come to me as i go!  thanks again :)

Deej CI 01/06

First day of the new season (winter here) and back into office work after a busy week in the field. I did slip (procrastinate) pretty badly last Wednesday: didn't even want to log on here but did manage a half days work due to incoming phone calls and desperate need to get ready for events the next two days. Think it was triggered when I got to thinking about the future of an organisation I convene (or would if I didn't procrastinate). Got some negative feedback on my performance at the events so that was a well deserved kick in the bum. But while I live I have a chance to redeem myself. So for this week...

  1. pack up from field days
    • pay bills
    • return borrowed items
    • write report
    • put things away
  2. finish collecting information for brochure review (must finish!)
  3. work on FF info notes
    • modify and submit to administrator
    • chase up authors

And that'll do for the time being.
