Morning! I am rushed so I'll put a graphic in when next CUOP.

todayfirst 9AM EST

I was home yesterday taking care of my sick little tike (just a cold). Now I am sick but came to work (gotta save those sick days for the kid). I feel like blowing off the entire day, but I will try to pick at it even if it goes a little bit slowly. Sorry I didn't respond to anyones posts yet... it takes me a while just to read 2 days worth of posts. I will try to stop back later.

Done:
- Test an error we've been getting on an existing app

Todo:
- Test code I wrote on Tuesday
- Research/Respond to an email

I'm doing my morning routine in a different order this morning. I don't like getting into the shower the moment I wake up because I'm still half asleep and I feel like I'm going to fall down.

beeper's gone! OK going to make a start. I've done my 'proper jobs' for today already, so I've had a lazy morning, and then I'm mopping up some jobs that have been put off for ages.

Milo's CI 7pm

I didn't get to have a nap coz DS woke just after I signed off. Oh, well. Didn't get to make those phone calls, either (can't do it if he's up because it's unprofessional to be on the phone to a client and have him come up to me shouting "Mum..Mummy...Mummy!!! MUMMY!!!!!!")

Ta da:
- put a load of washing on
- dressed and fed DS (who is now parked in front of Sesame Street while I do my morning routine )
- morning routine (excluding sweep floors and swish'n'swipe)
- pack bag for DS for going to babysitter while I visit client B
- client B appointment
- finished proposal for client A
- sweep floors, swish'n'swipe
- put washing in dryer
- ate something
- went shopping to relax with some "me time" but DS threw lots of tanties (tired after a short sleep) so I came home even more worn out! I did buy a new handbag, tho :)
- fed and bathed DS

To do:
- file at least 10 things in my 'to file' folder
- pick out 5 things from my "enter into computer" folder and do them
- update my Master To Do list
- spend 15 minutes finishing something (longer if it doesn't hurt too much
- make dinner (DH has been doing it all week, I should tonight)

Removed (can't do it now because it's too late)
- Ring client C to book next appointment (am definitely procrastinating on this one)
- Ring client D for review of last appointment (my presentation)

I am going to relax tonight in front of the TV (my fave Medium is on) and I'm not even going to do something at the same time. I deserve it!!!!!!! Oh, I might fold the washing, but that will only take a few minutes.

Hope you got some fun

When you posted at "7 pm" it was 4:30 am here, so you are probably in bed as I write, but juggling your business and your tot at the same time must be hard! Those days drove me barmy. I hope you enjoyed your show. Maybe some R&R will make it easier to tackle the client proposal you are procrastinating about.

Milo's CI 2:30pm

okay - got that stupid proposal done. I don't really want the job, actually. Hope he decides he doesn't want me :) As it turns out the file I created last night was corrupt. I got the text back, but had to put it back into the correct format. So that took me 45 minutes instead of 10. Oh, well.

Now I'm going to put the washing in the dryer (it's a nice day but I couldn't be bothered with the effort of hanging it out), then have some lunch, then swish'n'swipe, sweep floors and I might get half an hour to nap on the couch before DS wakes (I really need a nap!).

Ta da:

- morning routine (excluding sweep floors and swish'n'swipe)
- pack bag for DS for going to babysitter while I visit client B
- client B appointment
- finished proposal for client A

To do:
- Hang out washing (or cheat and stick it in the dryer)
- eat something decent (I have been forgetting to eat lately)
- Ring client C to book next appointment
- Ring client D for review of last appointment (my presentation)
- file at least 10 things in my 'to file' folder
- pick out 5 things from my "enter into computer" folder and do them
- update my Master To Do list

WTG on the proposal, Milo

Home now. DS hopefully asleep so I get some time to do that stupid proposal. Should eat lunch, too....

I have reassessed my list and am just too tired and stressed to go grocery shopping, so I have removed it. DH might do it tomorrow or one of us can do it Saturday. We have enough food to last ok.

Now my list is achievable given my mood and energy levels.

Ta da:
- put a load of washing on
- dressed and fed DS (who is now parked in front of Sesame Street while I do my morning routine )

How is using the dryer cheating?

I know it uses power. I often set virtuous standards for myself (like recycling as much as possible) which prove too hard to live up to (I am buried in bottles and cardbaord that I never get around to taking to the recycling center). My high standards are too high for me to keep until I get more of my life under control, so I see this as a form of perfectionism. Not that recognizing it makes it go away! ;)

Milo's CI 8:30am

Hi all! Lots to do today, too! But I will tone it down a little and not overload my list.

time difference

Let's see... I think you posted this 8:30am message at 7pm my time. So you are 13.5 hours ahead. That's about as reversed as it gets! Is it winter there, too? Hot, hot summer here - though today was pretty nice.

Yes, everything reversed!

It's winter here, although nice day today - very sunny and about 17 degrees (C). Still too cold. Bring on the 30's, I say.

I'd say Normy would consider it quite warm :P

Winter and Summer

Yup - that's warm! It's the height of summer here. Max temp: 16C today 15C tomorrow (but we did have a very hot spell recenty - well, for us - Milo would just be warming up!).

Brrrrr!!!!

No wonder half of Britain is moving down here..... :)

I would throw myself in front of a truck if I had to live through a summer that cold!!!!!!!!!!!!

hot, hot, hot!

I'm ready to throw myself in front of a truck, living through a summer this HOT. In New York, it's been the hottest summer on record. I don't know Celcius, but it's been around 100 degrees Fahrenheit with high humidity forever. Yesterday we got a break, but I think it's coming back. Twenty people died from the heat in the last heat wave.

Heatwave..

There have been heatwaves "up under" this summer, haven't there? Same thing happened in the UK with people dying.

100F is around 37C, which we call pretty warm, too. Anything over that and I'm inside all day with the aircon on. DH will be outside when it's 42C, he loves it.

The hottest day I've 'lived' through (inside with the aircon on!!!) was 116F.

A heatwave for us is probably more than two weeks over about 102F so we aren't that different :)

The thing about here is that we're equipped for it - rarely do homes not have airconditioning. So really, it's worse for you guys.

warm climate?

Milo, I don't know where in Australia you live, but it sounds like it's not in the temperate zone. I don't think it's ever gotten up to 116 degrees in New York. We'd all be dead, with what they would do to the air quality. Do you have true winters where you are, with snow? We do here. It gets very cold in New York in winter because it's so windy, right on the water.

And by the way, I *HATE* the heat. I'll take cold over heat any day. You can always add more layers, but once you're naked, you can't take any more off!

116 degrees

That was where I grew up, not where I live, but it's not much different here, maybe 2 degrees cooler in the day and 3-4 warmer at night (I grew up in the outback near the desert - hot days, chilly nights).

Yes, we have snow in Australia, in the mountains in NSW and Victoria. But we aren't known for our skiing holidays ;)

It sometimes snows at lower elevations but not often and if it does it melts quickly and doesn't build up. And it never snows in the west, the outback (80% of Australia!)or the top end (Qld and NT).

I saw snow for the first time at the Grand Canyon!!!!!!!

ps - you can always go swimming when you're so hot you've resorted to nakedness!

I bet it's an even number of hours

But it took her half an hour to write and post! Eh, Milo?

ha ha!

Probably!
