Procrastinators Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from chronic procrastination.
After my day trip, when I got home about 5pm, my new neighbor was moving in, so I met them. Then I went to my social activity. An aquaintance I like said hi to me, which helps me feel a lot better. Next: will I watch a DVD or go to sleep early?
I've been reading Rita Emmett's "The Procrastination Handbook" a little at a time, some really helpful things so far... today these quotes in it have really helped me have a better day:
MIT… Recover from last week, make to do lists for next week, month, 3 months - include big scary projects – just thinking about putting it all on a list is hard - Help me God! May give myself the whole weekend to do this... Come up with reasonable way of accomplishing them (read some resources for help)Internet was down all morning. Very hard to function without it and phone!
Word and prayer for the day: 2 Timothy 1:7
“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.”God I am so grateful for your grace and mercy and patience as I learn and grow more everyday in You…
today is a struggle, dont have immediate deadline only lots of things piled up to be faced and planned... i don't feel great and tho I am getting things done - no direction and lots of emotions and desire to do something mindless. I wonder if not taking a real break for almost 2 weeks deserves a bit of a mindless break, which leads me to realization I really need to learn what is normal way to function... at 36 seems I should know, but I dont really know. I try to remind myself on days like this dont think too much about life and decisions and things that feel overwhelming when having a rough day, but then I feel lazy for not thinking about them. Reminding myself of Word today and need to stop thinking of myself or my circumstances but the One who can fix it.
I'm dad-sitting again this weekend :) I thought I was going to have the weekend off, as Mom is now comfortable with letting him stay by himself at night. He has adjusted to the nursing home and pretty much sleeps though the night, and his health is stable. But now, Mom isn't feeling well. I think she made it through crisis and then kinda fell apart. Her blood pressure has been high and her feet are swelling. She's staying in bed this weekend, so I'm on day shift at the nursing home again. I am not complaining though - well, maybe I am a little bit lol - but I'm grateful for being able to spend time with him and I can relax a bit, work a bit, and goof around on the computer a bit.
Today, I've caught up on my personal email and moved my personal journal to a password protected flash drive that I can carry around with me and use either from work or from home. Of course, I back it up in both places :)
I want to work a few hours. I have some things to check on my hardware install from last week, and start preparing for my on-call week next week. I brought some work-related reading too if I'm in the mood.
I also need to balance my checkbook and do my budget for the second half of the month. I have been budgeting and paying bills on time, but I haven't been keeping up with where my money is going and checking to see if my actual spending matches my budget. The money has been lasting til the end of the month so I'm not being as careful as I was for a while, and I need to get back to that so I don't get in financial trouble again!
Now I'm going to take half an hour to goof around on the computer before I dial into the secured work network.
See you in the chatbox noonish. Hope Pro will be hanging out with us again today :)

Most of today is busy, but I have a little bit of time this morning and this afternoon. I've already done a little work on WG's project: I'd also like to print stats stuff, organize papers on my floor , clean kitchen, read Arava paper, make 2 phone calls.
Right now, I'm going to look up directions for where I need to go this morning, then I'm going to organize papers, print stats stff and clean kitchen, then I need to head out by 9:45 or 9:50.
