Very busy day and earlier start. I was ready, wiliing and present at things for others even though I had earlier been tempted to try to get out of one long activity. And in return I was really touched by unexpected kindness again and again :) .

The next few weeks I have so much urgent stuff that I'll probably be flipping into workaholism; I'll use posts to make sure that I am keeping up with some household routines and taking positive (non-surfing!) breaks now and then.
I haven't been here much lately...I've been on Christmas break. School starts again on Friday, so I'm sure I'll be spending more time here. Lots to do today.....
Done: Get up, get dressed, pick up milk at grocery store.
To Do: Breakfast, shovel driveway, reply to emails, fill out FAFSA forms, check bill for this semester of school, drain bank account to pay for this semester of school, search for scholarships for next semester, prepare for puppet rehearsal/family matters program. Leave house by 3:30.
K has a snow day today. It was - 20 yesterday am, warmed up to 0 durning the day, stayed there overnight AND started to rain. Now we have massive amounts of slush that will be joined with more rain, that will turn to snow as the day progresses, and the temperature plummets to -20 tomorrow morning. I am out on the roads between 6 and 7 every morning, so I get to experience this wonderful weather first hand...so much fun.
Haven't done much yet today, just hanging out here on my comfy chair. My list for today:
- Clean Sink!
-clean rest of kitchen
- put folded laundry away, start new loads
- wash down 4 wooden chairs, 3 wood tables and 1 wooden high chair
the above is something I have wanted to get done for a long time, something that stares me in the face and mocks me every day. Today IS the day I shall do it!!
I need to find out what positive thing it is that will motivate me. It is 4 now. I have done nothing but be on this computer all day. The kids have eaten here and there, no real lunch, and they are hungry. Their grumpy moods are directly linked to me, that should be enough to get me off my butt and go do something about their hunger, their well-being. My negative motivation is my husbands disappointment. And hiding the fact that I have done nothing all day, I need to have the kitchen clean and supper on its way.
I tried to find a web site like this one, only neuratics anonymous, or emotions anonymous...somewhere where I can get someone to point me in the right directions....does anyone know of anything?
It ought to be a good day today, because I have had my oatmeal. There are a bunch of things that I am putting off that I should try to whip through today, as they are making me unhappy. bills, fafsa, application for fs, diahes, dinner, get to a meeting if I can.

Finally I am in my classroom. Due to exams this week I have had to take up camp in different classrooms. This is the first day this week that I have been in my classroom. I am glad to be back as not being in my classroom disruptus my routine and seriously impacts my progress. I have to make wise use of my time in my classroom today because tomorrow and Friday I am back to camping out in different classroom.
First on list is to check my Living Life Post to see what I need to add and plan what need to be done. I should take 20 min so I will check back in then.
CI 3:20 accomplished many things today but not much off of my list. Not sure what I am going to do next. Have to take think time and get myself together. Be back when I am together.
CI 4:55 not sure that I got myself all together but next on the list is to leave an go home. At home I need to follow my PM routine and focus on helping my children get ready for their E09's over the next 2 days. CI when I get home and probabbly chat to get myself through it.
CI 6:40 Home now and working on pm routine. Handled mail, washing load of clothes, kids eating supper. Continue to work on pm routine have to wash 3 loads of clothes tonight, I am behind.
Right now, my focus is on Project Y. Mrs. GS and I are making some major decisions about whether to move forward with that in light of a series of problems related to it. My MIT right now is to sort out thoughts and action steps today related to those decisions.
Update, 7:40 AM
Action steps and talking points listed. Awaiting input from Mrs. GS. Turning to other matters. Trying to deal with big escape temptations that would distract me.
Update 1:40 PM
Important phone conversations. Sporadic progress on work matters.
Update 6 PM
It's been a messy day. Not much to report on check out time. Most of my energy today has been taken up with Project Y difficulties. And I've done the best I can under the circumstances.
See everyone tomorrow.

Woke up naturally at 6 this morning (jet lag is great sometimes!).
I'm trying to establish a new habit of leaving the house precisely at 7:30. This morning I had a chance to try out a new routine, to see if I could get up at 6:45 and make it out by 7:30. This seems mostly realistic, though I learned I need to be a little more organized for this to actually be enough time (night before, need to lay out clothes, find lunch-making stuff and put away dishes from dish drainer). However, I think it makes sense to get up 10 min earlier, so I can look through email and read PA before I leave.
Right now I'm going to use my 30 extra min to do some Harambee prep. Then, at 7:30 I'm going to head out the door. When I get to lab, I'll make a plan for my work on DP and NM's projects today. If I have time, I'll go to toastmasters today 12:30-1:30 (but I have orientation for DP's lab, so I'm not sure I'll have time). I'll leave campus at 5:35 for Harambee.
Started taking notes from mtg w/ MG, but didn't get a chance to finish
Orientation stuff ended up taking way longer than anticipated, and then I just spent a completely unnecessary 30 min messing around with VPN.
Plus I'm sick and don't feel like working, but still have an enormous amount to get done.
And NM wants me to have everything done by this Friday. Argh!
OK, deep breath, I'm going to finish taking notes from mtg w/ MG now, then I'll head to Harambee, then I'll go home and work on NM's project (try to at least get all the MITs for that done today), then tomorrow I'll mostly focus on NM's project.
Am taking my lunch break now, then I'm going to transfer data onto flash drive, take notes from mtg w/ MG, start going over papers I've read so far and taking notes, then I have some more orientation 1-3, then I can work more on NM's lab tasks.
Left house a little late (toilet broke just as I was leaving :( ), but had good luck on the subway and so got to lab on time.
I'm feeling overwhelmed with everything I have to do, but I'm just going to try and focus and get as much as I can done.
DP's project:
*Scheduled: Orientation 9:30-? (+ drop by lab 9:15)
*MITs: get lab notebook, review papers I've read so far + take notes
*Other task: talk to MG to clarify project details
NM's project:
*MITs: transfer data onto flash drive, order S+S book, figure out where I stand in lab+write a summary, look at mean switching data from 40 min
*Other tasks: finish looking at mean switching data from 120 min, look at single cell data from 40 min
Other:
*Scheduled: toastmasters 12:30-1:30 (if it doesn't interfere with orientation), Harambee 5:40-8:30
*To do: print wall calendar, return library books, clean bathroom
Right now, I'm going to order S+S book, look up toastmasters room, return library books, print wall calendar, run by student store to get lab nb+flash drive, transfer my data onto a flash drive, then stop by lab.
Leaving to take my daughter to work as her car is in the shop. Couldn't get to the gym but I walked/jogged on the treadmill for an hour and then did my pushup and situp monkeys.
(the monkey challenge is that you start with 1 pushup and one situp on Jan 1, do 2 on Jan. 2, etc. until by the end of the year you can do 365 pushups and 365 situps. I don't know if I will make it quite that far. Did you know that Britney Spears does ONE THOUSAND situps every day?? Not that Britney Spears should be our role model or anything but she does have nice abs lol)
bbl, assuming I have an internet connection when I get back.

Hi Pro Buddies!
Thanks for the threadstarter, journey! :) I've always liked Tom & Jerry! :)
With the new year, some renewed commitments to habits is helping me.
Also, while my re-structured assignment list isn't achieving perfection, it's helping me, too.
Gym this morning went well. I got some stuff done at work. Before finishing for the workday, I need to update my project list for tomorrow.
This evening: make progress on filling & carrying boxes from rental condo to new condo.
Have a great night, everyone! :)

OK, still not going great, but at least I made a little progress.
I finished the notes from mtg w/ MG.
Went to Harambee, but wasn't focused and didn't do a great job leading.
Went home, had dinner, took a phone call from a friend, wasted some time online.
Now I'm feeling sick and exhausted, so I'm going to shower and go to bed early.
