Good evening. :)

Today I slept in, did some yoga, did a lot of reading, and saw some friends. Also finished the scarf I've been knitting. :)

A light load again tonight. Did a little laundry, planning to spend 15-20 minutes tidying my room. I also want to spend a little time looking at my finances and getting receipts organized—I'm very new at this having-a-job-and-my-own-money thing and it's starting to intimidate me, so I want to get organized before it becomes something I start avoiding!

7:40—spent 20 minutes looking at bank info and tallying numbers, and am feeling better about that. Will look through all my receipts sometime in the next few days.

Hi!

I'm been having some cookies today -- thanks, chickadee! ;)

An end-of-work CI while waiting for my boss to get something to me!

Back at the regular gym, doing some treadmill & stretching :)

Annual physical this morning. My dr had gained a little weight, so she didn't say anything about my weight ;)

I kept working on projects at work today, so I got some things done.

Tonight: I'll go to my 12-step meeting. If I have time, I might try to do a thing or two!

Have a great night, everyone! :)

Journey 7:50

Good morning!   today is a work-at-home day for me.  I've been to the gym.  It's soooo humid here, it's been 50-60 degrees and damp and drizzling for weeks.  I feel like I live in a swamp.   We've been having such a terrible drought that I never thought I would complain about rain again but there you go.  Not complaining about the warm weather, but I'd like to see the sun again someday.

I'm going to make some coffee and fix myself a hearty breakfast - I'm starving.  Then I'll boot up the work computer, make my todo list for the day, TAKE A SHOWER, and have quiet time.

I've gotten into a really bad habit of sitting around in my sweaty exercise clothes for hours since I've been working from home 2 days a week.   I'll take a shower before starting the work day.

I was up at 4:45 and at the gym at 5:30, on time for my weight training class yay! Tomorrow I want to be there at 5:15 for spinning.

When I come back I'll be in the chat box, come join me!

It sounds like you had a great start to your day-up at 4:45...wow! The 50-60 degrees sounds pretty good to me. It's about 32 here and raining just a little. It was in the
60's just a few days ago though. The weather around here is a little crazy! I made it up at 6 this morning and I'm determined to make it three days in a row. I have got to get to bed earlier though. That remains a problem(: Have a good day tomorrow!

tuesday morning e

Good morning! Yesterday was a success in many ways and a realization that I am not able to keep up with things when I focus on one item. However, I worked extensively on my resume for the first time since September and sent a draft off to a friend of mine to review late last night. I have 3 positions to apply for, and I am hoping to get one of them. Even if I only get my foot in the door at this institution it seems like a place for a lot of growth, so I could be there for the rest of my professional life. It is also an easy commute, and could even bike it if the weather complies.

I also found another position that appealed to me enormously, but it would require driving everyday. Not wild about that, but may go for it anyway. All in all, yesterday felt like there was a totally different energy than the world had had all autumn: fiscally the picture seemed brighter, people were working away in the chatbox and really getting things accomplished, even a fiscal person called me to say that there has been an upturn on what little investments we had (perhaps my son will still have something saved for college?)

Today, i have a doctor's appointment at 3:55, but I cannot remember what it is for! The house is a bit of a pit, and I have really only had 3 hours sleep so far. I would like to set a limit of getting to sleep early as well: by 11:30 would give me 7 hours: ideally getting more would be better.

errands: returns, drycleaning, banking, laundry, clean the bathroom, work on resume, job search, speak to friend, head to a meeting tonight at 7:00. Planning dinner would also be a good idea: perhaps I can turn last nights leftovers into a chili? I am watered and half medicated, and will need to have breakfast before I take the rest of it. There is also a huge storm coming, so it would be a good idea to batten down the hatches.

Clearly, my recovery is tied to the amount of time I spend in the chatbox: going there now

e's strangely productive day

I was unable to be in the chatbox today because my spouse took the laptop to an interview, but I never stopped all day. I don't know why, but it was great: I started at 6:30 getting my son out of bed, made him oatmeal, a fried egg, and clementine oranges. I drank my water, took the rest of the meds and emptied the dishwasher, and got him out the door (with his coat on! huge win for me!) and then did dishes, put the futon away, checked in, made breakfast, took meds, stayed on top of the dishes and reviewed my resume with my friend on the phone. Then my husband came back and we discussed how things went (okay, but not fabulous) and I ate and then took my son to work. I managed to get my files for my doctors appointment ahead of time, take a shower, bring all the errand items and got most of them done. I saw a surgeon, who is going to look at whether I really should have my gall bladder out (did not do this as planned last summer).
While at the doctor's office I was in a strangely good mood and went through my purse, read instructions for my ipod, etc. On the way home I ran into a friend who took me home with her and made me hot chocolate. Then I went back to Target, exchanged and upgraded my ipod (oh, happy day) and then did more errands. finally the back of the car feels clear, the ornaments are down, etc. but best of all, it felt like a balance of work, self care, fun and so forth.
Things that had been weighing me down simply got done.\

With the bad weather coming I expect that the low pressure zone will knock me out, but I am much, much more hopeful, even if I have to have surgery.

that sounds great!

So glad to hear your day went well, e! I love it when you get on a roll like that and everything just feels natural and easy (or easier). Hope tomorrow is the same! :)
