ci - toom

ok it took my two hours to finally set my timer for 15 minutes and sit down and start the report when the time went off I had about 3 minutes left to finish what I started, so at last the campaign report is caught up.

I do often use the 15 minute timer trick, and the trick is to use it - I can certainly put off actually setting the timer and starting the task.

I am the complete opposite at work - I don't procrastinate anything - I have never understood why I procrastinate at home????

ci - toom

argh - I still haven't done I thing that I committed to on Monday.  I thought I had a campaign report due yesterday and got out everything to complete it.  I made a call to double check the date and found I had until May 20 to get it completed.  Instead of "just doing it" as the stuff was all out and ready to go - I moved on to something else.

I have the afternoon off in which I could get something done or at least started.  Instead I feel like taking a nap.  Which at this point is winning out.

I will stop by this afternoon- I hope with better news.

maybe work for 5 min and then take a nap?

That has worked some for me...5 minutes isn't too much to commit to. Approximately half the time I realize that work isn't so bad. The other half the time, I decide I'm tired, work is irritating and I really want a nap--but at least I've made 5 minutes progress.

c be - workout

just bookending a short workout, so i continue to break things down and not get overwhelmed. Because i dont think i have time to get everything done. But i dont want to get nothing done, as i have so many times in the past.

c be - 5:20pm

so i forgot to check back and end the BE. I think doing so would help me manage my time better, so i choose to try to do that in the future.

I did finish my workout, after chatting with my SO. Then did some more work--another issue arose demanding my attn.

Had a meeting.

Back to work.

2:01 pm CI for Lark 10pm Ta da!

Good afternoon everyone. Late checking in today--lots of people stopping and calling today. I've not finished one this so far, and am considering taking the day off. Only thing, it's raining here, and other than husework and reading, there's nothing to do. Instead, I'm going to try to salvage the workday. There are three projects which need to be finished or really moved along. For starters, that's it, along with sorting laundry.

N's check in

Hi Everyone.

I'm back after a (too) long hiatus. I need to commit two hours of dissertation work today.

I am going to start cleaning up the space/books around my desk. I think this might help me sit down and face the "next right thing."

Thanks to everyone on here and blessings,
N

Hi Artist Friends & all! :)

I am checking in from work!!! My home computer CPU died yesterday when I got home!!! My computer-savvy friend will be helping me find a solution(s) over the next days/weeks. I don't always have time to log in on my work computer, plus for the rest of the month was already going to be Away for a number of days. Hopefully by the end of May, this will be resolved, because I like to log in at least Once A Day to see all my Pro Buddies and stay on track with my Check-Ins! :)

Today: gym, work, quick lunch & doing some e-mails/posting ;)

This afternoon = work. This evening = can I do anything at home without the computer to keep me company, help me pace myself, and tell me what to do next? I guess I am going to find out! ;)

See you next time! :)

Thank you, gals & guys, for being here! :)

Journey 9:30

Ugh, horrible traffic this morning.  I'm late to work, although my workplace is not strict about that as long as the work gets done.

I have some emails to send out quickly, then I'll get myself together and set my MITs for the day.

Tomorrow is Friday . . .

Journey 12:30

Went out for an early lunch with friends which was nice.  I've read/processed email and set my MITs for the day.   I completed a couple of short tasks before lunch.  I'm going to take 10 minutes to catch my breath then work on OPM for at least two hours (with breaks).

still working on OPM . . . taking a 10 min. break.

the 10 minute break lasted 20 minutes lol, but I'm going back to work now!

pro's CI - 9:30am (heading to chatbox)

I went to bed late, then I got up past 8, and I've been reading a novel for over an hour. I'm really tired. I have to leave for work. Heading to the chatbox (to get dressed, etc.)

Procrastination is the grave in which opportunity is buried.

kromer 8:30 CI

This is crunch time for me, just need to stay focused.

I'm currently working on revising my slides for a presentation later this afternoon, I'm going to take 30 min. and make diagrams for my discussion, then I'm going to go to campus and finish the presentation there.

kromer 11:40 CI

Almost done fixing up presentation, went to Spanish class, helped a friend with a technical problem.

Now I need to:

*Finish my presentation (30 min)
*Do peer review of bio paper (1 hr)
*Read paper+write summary (40 min)
*Go to bio class 2-4

Update: Finished presentation, it took absolutely forever, so I'm not going to get a chance to read paper/write summary until after class. Now I'm going to quickly do the peer review

kromer 4:30

Finished presentation, went to class, gave presentation and it went very well I think, took a 30-min break that I really shouldn't have taken.

Now I need to finish the rough draft of my senior thesis (it really should have been finished by this afternoon, but I think as long as I get it in sometime tonight it will be fine).  Rough is mostly done, and I can focus on it this evening (the other tasks I need to do are go to church, call home, and call A if I have time).

While I'm still in lab, I need to make a figure...otherwise I'll have to come back to lab after church, and I don't want to do that. I also want to read paper and write up dataset summary. I think both of those can get done before I have to leave at 5:40. I'll start by making the figure, will update here when I'm done.

kromer 9:45 CI

I made the figure, skimmed paper+wrote up dataset summary, went to church, called home, left a message to A and now am trying to get back to work on my senior thesis. It really *must* be finished tonight, and I'm scared that my prof won't be happy with it so I don't want to work on it (because he really would be happy with an unfinished thesis...)

The steps I'm going to take next are:
*Write up discussion (I have an outline and just need to turn it into complete sentences
*Read through methods and make revisions/corrections, figure out what figures I want to make for that
*Make a list of questions to ask PF about the rough
*Format results figure/table

That's enough to start (in fact, it seems like a terrifying amount of work...), so I'll leave it at that for now. I'll work in the chatbox and update here as I make progress.

Edge's CI - 12:40PM

Hi guys.

Yesterday wasn't so great. I pretty much didn't do anything constructive at all, except feed the cats, scoop their litter and put in a load of laundry (which I did late and forgot to include some important items that I had been told to put in as well).

But today's another start. So far I've:
x taken morning med 1
x morning med 2
x fed the cats (I usually don't include this because I don't feel it's something worth mentioning, just a matter of course, but I need to feel better today, so :p)
x tidied my room
x took a shower
x agreed to make an appointment with a shrink and made it

And now I want to:
- have breakfast
- FH
- ready clothes for interview
- ready material for interview
- call and make sure designer is ok with the time and place
- 2:30pm start getting ready for interview
- 3:15pm head out for interview

I'm kind of short on cash right now, but seeing how I'm interviewing the designer myself and at a Starbucks, I have to cover his tab, so have to remember to pick up extra cash from the ATM as well this evening to cover my costs.

I would also like to finish a few business chapters today, though I know I might find that a bit of a challenge. I haven't got much time left before my first final and I don't want to do badly.

I also want to do a good job at the work project I'm handling for my aunt, who has hired me and is expecting good results.

I think the hardest thing about being a procrastinator is that people are always expecting great results. I hate having to deal with other people's high expectations. I would rather they have no expectations at all. I fear not being able to live up to what they have in mind. It gives me a great deal of anxiety, because I don't want them to think less of me. But for this project I'm going to try to stop worrying about the end result and just focus on the process. (Still hoping I don't mess up though :p).

Ok, that's enough talking for now :) Off to get breakfast.

Edge's CI - 6:17PM

Went to the interview, it was good. Went to buy the concert tickets as well but the organizers had revoked them from the venue I'd visited, so now have to go to another venue to get them.

Called a few of my friends to check if they're coming tomorrow. Will finish my calls now.

So, I completed:
x have breakfast
x FH
x ready clothes for interview
x ready material for interview
x call and make sure designer is ok with the time and place
x 2:30pm start getting ready for interview
x 3:15pm head out for interview

Other stuff to do:
- laundry
- dishes
- study
