Procrastinators Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from chronic procrastination.
I've been doing a lot of sleeping. I went to bed at 10pm last night, woke up after 7am this morning (9+ hours), then napped for several more hours during the day. I needed the sleep.
Now I want to get outside while the sun is still up.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Procrastination is the grave in which opportunity is buried.
OK, getting a *very* late start this morning, but it's time to buckle down.
As I've been doing for the past few days, I'm going to work on getting test sets for my senior thesis. I'm sure I'll have to re-run the tests this summer, so I'm going to focus on carefully documenting how I get the data, so I can avoid duplicating effort later.
My first tasks for the day are:
*Compute z-scores for all genes/tissues in Novartis expression Atlas
*Get data for ERab data set
*Go to house alumni board meeting
Good morning all. Dreary day here. I was planning a trip, but decided to put it off for a while. Too many loose ends still around here to return to.
Today:
(X)morning things
(X)spiritual time
(X)deal with client on yesterday's project
(X)kitty box
donate clothes
(X)do next work project
clean pile on table
(X)just begin any dormant project
(late)check in around lunchtime
extremely busy, fairly productive day yesterday. Didnt even get a chance to check-in.
wasted time this morning. had time, but wasted more than i had.
now i have 1 hr left and too much to do. So i will surrender to HiPo, at least try to, i usually try to do it as i type it and it didnt work this time, and then accept my lot and make the best of it.
I will probably not get everything done, so i can employ steps 4-9.
Furniture Drive is coming to pick up a chair & an ottoman at 8:30am. I want to tidy up, put away a load of clothes & stray items, so that I can go on a Bike Ride at daylight, then be back in time before the Furniture Pick-Up gets here.
I'll probably do a regular check-in later, too ;) Talk to you later! :)
Yay, not only did the Furniture Drive people show up, they were on time, and got the chair and ottoman taken away :) I feel really good, and I like the additional spaciousness in my room :)
I also Swiffer'ed the room before & after they were here, and found some hiding Dust Bunnies!!!
When they left, I was very excited, and almost ran out of the door for errands. However, fortunately I remembered my PA list, and got back on track!!!
So, thanks to my PA list, today I: went on a bike ride, started a load of clothes in the washer, straightened the lower level, had breakfast, took high blood pressure meds, ate oatmeal, ran the dishwasher, straightened the bathroom, had a spiritual moment, decided which method of payment for store, and put the reuseable Cloth Shopping bags by the door. Then I put clothes in dryer, took out trash, bought weekly provisions, put gas in car, and fixed & ate lunch.
Now: I'm going to do a sample paint color for my artwork. If it isn't "just right," I'm going to the craft store!!! ;)
When you are trying to "fit in" creative moments im your everyday life, isn't it sooooo hard? I think it's because the two sides of the brain are involved.
You did a whole lot of practical things today that needed to be done, things that will make your life run more smoothly, VERY GOOD! Creative types denigrate the value of those tasks, but they are very valuable. Even to your creativity. It's hard to be creative when trash is overflowing the trash cans.
Sounds like you had a good day. Very good! I am glad for you.
Thanks! :) I appreciate your kind words :) The goal of doing that painting has been on my task list since last October/November, so I'm glad to have finally have it done! :) It was my very first painting ever! :)
When I get my new place this summer, I need a sofa-siza painting to go in the gold-tone living room with beige/cream furniture. To fit in my budget lol, I had to make my own. Even though it's my first painting, it's 6 feet long with the 3 panels and 30 inches high. In the pic, posing by the painting is one of my Barbie-size dolls.
Thanks again for your encouragement! I hope you & everyone have a great day! :)
well, i wish i knew more about art, but i like your piece. It seems like... soft motion to me. Is that what you were going for? I'd like to be informed.
With the artwork, I did have to go to the craft store, to get one more color. I thought I would just do a sample of the color, or part of the painting, but I did the whole thing! :)
pro's CI - 10pm (bedtime)
I should be ready for bed already, but my teeth aren't brushed. Doing that now...
