I'm ready for bed! It's a miracle!

Now I have to get into bed, fast, before I get captured by something on the computer.

Good night!

I'm exhausted. I'm so chronically sleep deprived that it's hard for me to function at work. I can't concentrate.

It's only 8:35pm, but I think I will start getting ready for bed. I'm working from home tomorrow (sink being replaced), but I still need to be alert. Also, I'm working out at the gym with my trainer in the morning, and I need to be rested. Last time was terrible because my body was so tired.

Hi Flying Fish & other friends :)

No offense to our little friends above lol, but I have eaten at the Flying Fish restaurant at Disneyworld Boardwalk. Did we have a creme brulee dessert? I can't remember now; it was about 6 years ago.

Today: walked, gym, work. Fortunately did a Soundboard Check 2 hours before a presentation, which meant when it failed, I had time to Get A Tech in There to Fix It Before the Mayor Pro Tem arrived!!!! (Diagnosis: someone had changed the Amp Board in wiring room, which neither I or custodians are supposed to mess with, so thank goodness for Tech!!!) Anyway, all's well that ends well, and all Big Bosses were happy, so that's what counts :)

Worked, walked home, wash/dried 1 load of clothes, fixed dinner, washed face & moisturized, sponge bath in sink, changed clothes, checked e-mail.

Tonight, minimal: write e-mail to friend in Singapore, put load of clothes on sofa, brush teeth, light yoga & use massage tool before sleeping.

Tonight, ideal: floss teeth, fold clothes & put away, maybe run dishwasher. We'll see if I do the "ideal" part, or just the minimal.

Have a great night, everyone! :)

Thank you, gals & guys, for being here! :)

Good job!  I don't know what I'd do without my mp3 player.  It's the only way I get through tedious stuff like folding laundry.

“The key is not to prioritize what’s on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.” - Stephen Covey

for me, it's talk radio

I've never been big on music for some reason - I still feel bored. But I like to listen to talk radio. I have a portable satellite radio now (like an iPod) and I can't go anywhere without it. I listen to talk radio while walking to and from work. I always have the radio on when I'm folding laundry or stuff like that.

Journey 8:30

Sh*t!  It's May 1!  I totally forgot to write up the status report yesterday.  That was not procrastination, either, I genuinely forgot.

Since I'm early to work again today, I'll get to work on it right away and get it out by the time most people are reading their email.  Jeez.

After that, I'll set my MITs for the day and come back here.

 Journey

Journey 10:30

The status report is done. *Whew*  :P

Now I'm going to catch my breath and do my normal daily planning.  I'm taking an early lunch with friends from the old job.  I really should make the effort to make some friends at the new job, eh?  It's been two years.  I assumed my co-workers would be my friends but it's not turning out that way.  I like the lady that sits next to me and I've gone to lunch with her and her team a couple of times, but we don't really chat.  I think I project a "don't have time for chitchat" attitude.  Which is ok, because I do have work to do, but I don't mean to be unapproachable.  *sigh*

Anybody remember the Seinfield episode where George Costanza got away without doing any work, just by looking annoyed all the time?  Everyone assumed he was busy so they didn't give him any assignments.

OK, I'm rambling.  Off to set my MITs.

lol george

vividly.

And the one where he only gave part of his proposal at the meeting, then walked out.

Or the time when he worked on the penske file, and did nothing, but his boss was somehow, inexplicably, impressed.

ah, fond, funny memories...

Seinfield

Lol, I don't think I watched that episode, but it sounds like a good technique, heh. Huzzah for finishing the report quickly!

kromer 7:50 CI

I didn't do *any* work yesterday evening, and now I'm in a bit of a crunch...oh well.

I'm quickly going to read my Spanish textbook, then I'll focus on revising my bio project:
*Revise materials and methods
*Revise results
*Revise abstract
*Go to Spanish class
*Revise intro
*Revise discussion
*Turn in paper at 2
*Check in again

kromer 10:15 argh!!

This morning is not going so well!

I read Spanish text, revised mat & methods and abstract, am working on revising results.

But I went too late doing this and now am missing Spanish (which will hurt my grade in the class).

Also, I lost some important papers for the class I teach in the afternoon, grr! This happens to me all the time. If anyone has any tips for keeping organized, I would really appreciate it!

 Argh!!!!!!!!!!

OK, deep breath, just keep working on my bio project. I will try to work well until 10:40, and then I will leave for campus *exactly* then.

Then, after my bio project is done, I will call my co-teacher and ask if she can make a copy for me.

kromer 2:55 CI

After a slightly frantic push, I finished putting together the rough draft of my bio project. It wasn't perfect, but it was pretty good (and most people in the class didn't get it done on time at all), so that's all right.

Next up:
*I need to fix a couple formatting issues in my rough, might as well do it now while I'm thinking about it
*I need to spend about 30 min preparing for the class I'm teaching tonight...read over notes, print out stuff, call RH and ask her to make a copy for me
*Need to make a big push on my senior thesis...I want to meet with PF tomorrow to go over results of test jobs, and if I don't have any test jobs run then that will be kind of silly.
*Need to do some chores for my house tonight--clean bathroom, turn in receipts, put in food order

I'll start with prepping for class, back when that's done

kromer 4:20 CI

Prepped for class, took way too long, couldn't get ahold of RH so left a message

Picked up receipts to take home

Now I'm going to spend approx. 20 min fixing up formatting issues: put figure legends below figures, proofread captions, edit labels, format fig 1, change figure numbers

Back when that's done.

kromer 10:30 CI

Almost finished fixing formatting issues, but hit a snag and didn't finished.

Then taught class, traffic was terrible getting home, then I've been sitting on my butt for the past 45 minutes. Time to get going.

I'm going to start by taking a *small* step for my senior thesis...I'm so panicked I just want to do nothing and pretend it doesn't exist, so I'm going to download data files for 2 data sets. 5 minutes, a concrete step.

Then I'm going to go take a shower because I feel gross, and sort out/sign my receipts.

Then I'm going to try to do some substantial work for by senior thesis...check back with a detailed plan in a bit.

re: tips for keeping organized

I'm a "loser" too Kromer!  Glad you found a way to recreate the misplaced papers.  I am certainly NOT perfect in this area, but I find these things help:

File, File, File! - Put all papers in a file when you get them, even if it's the "pile" - my pile is in a file lol .

Make a habit of always putting important things in the same place each time.  For example, I almost always park in the same area of the parking lot at work, and at the grocery store.  (yes, I've lost my car in a parking lot more than once).  I "almost" always clip my keys onto my purse strap.  I still lose my keys sometimes, if I'm distracted just as I come in the door, but this works 99% of the time.

Good luck - sounds like you have recovered and are proceeding with your day.
