But bagua forms usually involves spiraling energy, so I thought that would be interesting if there are some forms that our new member Bagua is into. Drove to gym, worked, got lunch; after work had 2 Volunteer Group meetings.
Today I felt enough energy to try again on a project I have been procrastinating on. My attorney told me to say a certain thing. I called and said that. The organization said no, it isn't that way. Having tried about 3 previous ways to do this, it slows-motions me down when it doesn't work, and then it is partly timing and partly takes a while to build up my courage to try again. Anyway, 10% an issue, but 90% I'm saying there are reasons I procrastinate on this!!! I will try to call 1 more time this week and ask 1-2 other things; then it will be a matter of timing in preceding further during the next month or two. Anyway, that's the best I can share about it, with having a boundary. Thanks for letting me share!
I was away for the weekend, and have been very tired & needing to catch up on sleep, etc. Just wanted to say a quick hello to everyone and let you know I'm thinking of you and cheering you on!
I'll be back soon. Off to eat and go to bed now. Good night!
Today has been a good and a bad day: I have not been here for a bit and I feel a bit disoriented coming back. Thank you, Edge and Moving, for your wonderful thread starters for today and yesterday.
I am coming up against resentment in my life lately and I want to own it here so I can move on. As self seeking is slipping its way in, it helps to have this place to say my truth so the feelings do not mount up and procrastination begins.
I have a few things that are haunting me that I need to move on. One is the need to sign and email off to the college's my taxes. The second is to mail off the actual taxes once the originals come in the mail.
The third is to begin the heavy lifting of my practicum.
Today I was happy to realize that I could put my life in better order if I went to work a little later: tomorrow I will do the same so that I can cover some time not currently staffed. It was a good thing, because I left the house with the kitchen taken care of, the laundry begun and things a bit more straightened out. I walked to work today and then had a quieter day.
I also need to finish up something I had been given to work on some time ago that I am dreading turning in because it is so late.
for tonight: read, meditate, quiet time, work the program For tomorrow: get up on time, straighten, 15 minutes on the living room, paperwork, go to bank, pay wind bill, get to work by 10
Peace everyone

I'm unemployed, not receiving unemployment due to my stupid quitting of a job, been out of work for over 2 months - scary. Have been willing to cut my hourly wage $6 to get work. I'm still waiting to hear if I got that job.
In the meantime, I could be cleaning, organizing. I only do the bare necessities and watch tv all day.
I'm recently abstinent in OA thank G_d again for 2+ months and I feel I'm getting through a depression, but still depressed. I need to be working out, doing creative things that I must be doing. All I'm doing is applying for jobs. I found out there is a workout place that takes insurance and I won't go down and register.
I tell myself: when I start working I will start doing everything else. That doesn't make any sense, but that's how I'm living.
Yes, there is hope for you and i and many people here have found it thru the fellowship of this site, and fellow sufferrers here, and the 12 steps and bookending or checking-in and the chatbox. In fact, you're posting in the daily check-in post right now.
If you have any questions about these resources please ask and i or one of the very friendly, supportive members here will answer.
GREAT JOB with your 2 months abstinence via OA. If you can do that, you can do this. You're posting here is the first step--accepting the problem.
I would advise you to not wait until you start working again. Rather why dont you post in this topic what you want to get done today, or even in the next hour. Then try to do you best. Then report how you did. And we're all very supportive here.
And now i have to go to the chatbox myself and stop watching tv and get going on my work tasks. I have several that are piliing up this day :(
Welcome to the group, Hope! I can really relate to what you're going through right now because that's kind of how it's like with me at the moment :p I up and quit my job a month ago and have been unemployed since. I should be looking for another job so I can pay for my tuition (I'm still studying), and I should be finishing the million things I promised I'd do for everyone else (some of which could be very benefitial for me if I bothered to get them done career-wise), and I should be working on my social life and creative side as well, but instead all I do is see to the bare minimum and browse the net all day long.
Still, I've found that posting here at least gives me a little push in the right direction :) Gets my spirits up, gets me motivated, encouraged, that sort of thing, and I more often than not end up doing what I had set out to do :-) I'm glad you found your way to us, I'm sure you'll find PA very useful :-) I would suggest reading some of the articles on here as well: http://www.procrastinators-anonymous.org/taxonomy/term/28 - enlightening stuff.
Anyhoo, just wanted to say welcome!

I'm also a little angry, lonely, and tired. They always say in other 12 step programs not to get too hungry, angry, lonely, or tired (HALT). A client didn't get what I told him to, and I nearly drove 60 miles this morning (for nothing), just to finish his project for tomorrow. Or, I can have it delivered in the morning for free. Naw, not gonna play hero or co-dependent today. For now, I'm getting a snack, re-grouping, and taking a brief snooze in the chair. I quit feeling lonely when I logged on here! Bye.
Things are going okay now. Taking a little time away, interacting with people, and eating something really helped. I need to take a med called dilantin (less than before), and it tends to make me tired at times. That seems to promote procrastination alot. Little power naps really help me.
Glad to hear you're feeling better, Lark :-) I love power naps - their effects are amazing if you time them right :-) ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Nothing diminishes anxiety faster than action - Walter Anderson
Hi everyone. I'm still working on decluttering and house cleaning, and while it's not where I'd like, things ARE alot better around here. The trash guy comes soon, and I'm going to make a sweep through here in a few minutes. One goal is to fill a bag with stuff to donate. Time to get rid of some winter clothing. Along with regular work today, some outside time will be in order. To do: Morning things Spiritual time Focus on today's work project Clean and declutter Finish small work project (B) Spend half hour on project C Check in around lunchtime Good luck everyone!
Working from home today, taking dd to her first physical therapy appointment. Life is gradually getting back to normal and today I commit to reinstating some good daily habits that have fallen by the wayside in all the confusion:
Drink water Exercise Healthy diet
Take vitamins and anti-craziness meds Set MITs Prayer and meditation time Clear my mind of all the clutter and visualize a successful and enjoyable day Write down my top ten goals Remind myself of what's important and stop worrying about the trivial
I did manage to hold on to the "collection" habit, so all of the to-dos and ideas that race around my head are captured in my notebook or Remember the Milk and transferred to the appropriate GTD list.
First item on the agenda is exercise. I have been exercising maybe 2-3 times a week and I want to get back onto the 6 days a week plan.
Here's to an enjoyable and productive day everyone!
“The key is not to prioritize what’s on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.” - Stephen Covey
Well I haven't exercised yet, but I'm fixing to get on the treadmill right this red hot minute. (for those of you not in the American South, "fixing to" means "preparing to")
I have read email and processed all the new mail - I'm still behind on processing from being in class last week, but catching up. My MITs have been identified for the day, now I'm going to start working on them.
I'm learning to accept that I need an hour every day just to get my mind clear and figure out what really needs to be done for the day. Maybe everyone doesn't need that time to get organized, but it's something I require if I want to accomplish my goals for the day, rather than bouncing around from activity to activity, like a ping pong ball.

Back from the doc, and we were ON TIME to the appointment. I'm back to work . . .I'm listening in on a meeting via conference call and it's not working very well, I can't really hear and understand what's going on, but I'm there anyway.

I can identify with your post. I often have a busy day doing nothing which needs to be done. I've also discovered that wandering aimlessly can be exhausting.
To start the day: 22 min of cleaning (10 min dealing with email, 10 min dealing with paper, make my bed) Work on Spanish HW--do textbook+workbook Email about Harambee Email about women's lunch Answer one more bio lab question Install test version of prism+look at data, take notes Check back in. (Note--at 9:15 I need to leave for school, so I can photocopy and mail my taxes and make it *on time* to Spanish)
OK, didn't do all of the above, but did cleaning, Spanish HW, prism+looking at data, called doctor's office, photocopied and mailed taxes, and was only a minute late to Spanish.
Next up: In the next hour, I need to make a figure from my data and email it to my prof. Then, I need to email about Harambee and about women's lunch. Then, I'll go shopping for groceries+office supplies Then, I'll stop by lab to collect my papers and email a document to myself. Then, I'll make a figure showing the structure of a receptor By then it should be about 2, time for my bio class.
