Journey 2 pm

Late check in!  We have some folks here from out of town working with us on a project, so I'm tied up with them most of the day.  We're getting a lot done though, so that's good.

The weekend was reasonably productive for me, I got my taxes finished although I never printed them out and signed them.  The kids showed up early and then stayed late, and we had a good time.  It's warm enough to play outside with my grandson for extended periods of time now and that's a lot of fun.  He can entertain himself for hours by just running around the yard.  He runs and runs until he can't run anymore.

dd's first physical therapy appt. is tomorrow and I need to be with her, and I also need to be in the office with these dudes.  It's stressing me out to have to choose between work and family. I don't have to do that much anymore now that my kids are older and it's not a pleasant choice, but I'm choosing family over work . . . the choice is made, but I'm still stressing over it.  arrggghh.

Anyway, probably won't be checking in much today but will be thinking about you guys.

Pro

I'm abstaining from the whole chatbox discussion as I'm not a big chatter - at most I drop in to say hello once in a while.

However, I would like to say that I really benefit from the fellowship here, as I think we all do.  We appreciate all the work you do Pro and miss you when you're not around.

That's my $0.02 worth.

c ci 8pm

i am stalled.  so i post.

first, then: look at yesterday's list and update.
then: make today's list.

so hit preview, and looks ok, so as i got to hit "post comment"--ie as it becomes time to actually DO the thing i just wrote--i feel the anxiety rising in my chest.  Steps 1-3.

Ahh.  that actually feels better.  Step 3 is miraculous in my opinion.  I mean, it was made originally for alcoholics, right?  but i find that surrendering my will is an act of trust that HP has a grand play that i play one role in.  It lessens the sense of responsibility in my, but, ironically, because of demand resistance type issues, it make me more productive!

but how could that be, since it was written for AA not PA?!  I am in awe.

Ok, now sadly, after writing that, the anxiety is back.  I'm going to have to just hit "Post" and do steps 1-3 again.  And this is just my life.  What i have to do to get by.  I accept it.  Not ideal, by any means.  But progress not perfection, right PAers?

c ci 5pm

worked on MIT.  made pretty good progress.  I'm happy.

c ci 1pm

had trouble starting.  worked for about 1hr tho.  It's just later than i thot.

now dreaded tasks.

c ci 3pm

mid-day tasks done.
back to work MIT

c ci 10:30am

prev ci was 8am not pm.  can't edit it.

because edge replied--thanks ed, the encouragement really helps.

did my 2 tasks.

now work for an hour.  cya.

Right, Clement :)

I would go a step further and say that in our case, progress *is* perfection :)

About that anxiety, "nothing diminishes anxiety faster than action". My mantra - I keep chanting it to myself whenever the anxiety gets too bad. Used to get anxiety attacks because of my procrastination. Hope it helps.

I'm rootin' for ya!

8:12 CI for Lark(1:05)(5:02)(6:09)

Good morning everyone.  I couldn't sleep, yet I've been tired this morning. One project for work didn't get done yesterday. I avoided returning my client's calls, and I feel kind of guilty about it. Well, today, everything just needs to get done. My battle with clutter is still going, but it's a bit less dense now.
Today:
morning routine
spiritual time

finish main work project
focus on clutter between times
put clean laundry away
change kitchen tables
get gameplan and start work project B
work half an hour on project C
check in here around lunch

kromer 7:20 CI

First up: plan out what I need to get done this week and today.

Check back when that's done.

kromer 8:50 CI

Wow, I'm stalled this morning.
But plan for the week is now done.

Next up: Update resume, download pajek, update NESCent app, proofread NESCent app.
I'll do these in the chatbox, maybe that will help me.

Have to leave for Spanish class at 9:30

kromer 2:10 CI

back from class+swimming, had some lunch.
Now, I need to narrow down my test dataset choices and email about them
Should take about an hour.
Once I'm done with that I'll work on cleaning my room, it's a bit of a disaster!

kromer 7:15 CI

Chugging along (though I still have a bunch to do)

Next up: email A
Work on spanish HW
have *healthy* dinner
finish spanish
put tax forms in envelopes
Check in again

kromer 10:20 CI

From a slow start, this has turned into a pretty good day! Looks like I'll get through most things on my to-do list.

Did all of the above, now going to go take a shower. Then I'll:
*Make graphs on cholesterol binding and uptake from latest expt.
*Finish answering bio lab Qs
*Email TN

And then I'll go to bed!

Edge's CI - 2:52PM

Just finished scooping the kitty litter and I'm thinking it could do with changing. Usually the cleaning lady changes it once each week, but I think she didn't come last week... Blah. S'pose it's up to me then. :-( I hate washing the litter box, but it's one of those things that you can't put off for long. I'm mentioning it here because I don't want to give myself the option of weaseling out of it :-p Now I'll be held accountable if I don't do it :-)
