Hi HR,

Thanks for the link to the book--looks interesting. Unfortunately, I can't get the tooltolife.com website to come up. I keep getting a "problem loading page" error. Maybe their site is just down temporarily--I'll try again.

When i was here 6 months ago it was hoppin! Where's Pro?  She/he used to post like 10 times a day!  Not that i'm exactly posting my check in's very well.  anyhow, here's my CI

where is pro?

Saw your question about where I am...

The big change in my life now versus 6 months ago is that I have a full-time job. I'm no longer checking in during the day on weekdays because I'm at work, and my day is structured enough that I couldn't procrastinate if I wanted to.

My evenings and weekends have also been taken up recently because of some stuff going on in my personal life. Weekends, at least, I can try to get stuff done, and that's what I'm trying to do today. You'll probably see me online most on weekends (when most other people AREN'T here).

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Procrastination is the grave in which opportunity is buried.
Thanks, Pro
HI pro. glad to know where ya are.   Congrats (i think Undecided) on the full time job.  I know all about the personal life taking up the weekedns man.  We've all been sick in our house off and on since mid january. IT seems like all we ever do anymore is go to the freaking doctor. and nothing gets done on the weekends cause we all feel terrible.  I think we're about to all get better though,  the latest round we're all getting at the same time so we can't pass it around again.
Thanks for the compliment GID...
But don't give me to much credit. Just like everyone else here, I have my good days and my bad days, my good weeks and my bad weeks. I still have a long way to go in overcoming my procrastination, but thanks to this site and the fellowship it provides, I am learning that consistency comes in small steps.
Your Welcome! Monica
Hehe.. we do all have good days and bad, and that's what this place is for.  seeing other people posting their thoughts helps keep me motivated to do the same.
It IS slow here today.
Usually there are several posts by now. I think Pro is busy working. Our friend Rexroth almost always has a post or two by now--being from another time zone. I hope he's doing well. Seems I can feel the support when there are alot of other posts! Be well.
Re: Rexroth's whereabouts
There was a post he made last night that said his computer was messed up and if he dissappeared that was why.
I'm here
Problems with laptop occupied most of morning and part of the afternoon and I've been busy ever since. My ISP also provide me with an antivirus programme and these are not working properly in ways that are a great mystery. The ISP suggested I got in contact with whoever sold me the antivirus software. I said 'That's easy it's you'. He then got confused. I'm writing a letter before action to the ISP who will be surprised. I'm not happy about it.
Love and Peace Rexroth
Lark, 9:30 CI
Nice day here.
Today:
(X)morning routine
(X)heat on in workshop
scuff and re-varnish kitchen door
take care of loose ends for work
begin project A
Many, I'm in a procrastination hole today!
I've done barely a thing today, and nothing worthwhile. The procrastination bug really bit me earlier, and I feel like doing anything but what I should. It doesn't even feel good to do it. Does anyone have any advice or support? Anything would be appreciated.
Digging out of the procrastination hole
Hi Lark,
Sometimes when that happens to me I'm able to identify the least offensive thing on my list and do that. Or do it for 5 minutes. I seem to have the most trouble getting over my inertia. Once I get going, I can usually (though not always) keep it up for awhile. That said, I think whoever suggested trying to figure out why you're feeling resistant today made a good point. Is there some particular need that is unmet? If you could identify it and meet it, perhaps the task list wouldn't seem so onerous. Hang in there--the weekend's almost here! :-)
Mollie
Re:procrastination hole
Hi lark.  Have you been doing a lot the pasy few days and are just stuck today? Have you been time bingeing? Sometimes when I have been going full throttle getting stuff done, I burn out and just need a day off.   Usually just allowing myself some time off helps. on those days' "off" I do the absolute minimum.  I have a list of things that absolutely have to get done, do them and that's it.  The list is only one or two things long.  Then there are days when i just say screw it altogther.  you really gotta get into your head and figure out why your not wanting to do anything.  Tired, Hungry, burned out ? Etc.  Sometimes just admitting I'm having a hard time helps to get me motivated again.   I think we procrastinators tend to go overboard into doing too much in hopes we can keep going.
Yup, I'm comin' off a major time binge.
Thanks folks. I've had a major binge this week, since someone was available to help me with work which needed done, and he was available to help only then. This has been a true reality check for me, and I need to do only the most important things, one at a time, to get back on track. Hope tomorrow works better. I really need to re-read that time bingeing article.
