I wound up not doing any more work after my last check-in. I was really tired and just couldn't focus. So I had a good dinner and fell asleep in front of the TV.

Yes it does help. I like the flexibility it gives me. I plan as I go along in the day. That way I don't get discouraged when life throws me a curve ball.

pro's CI - 10:20pm

I am fried. I wrote the article I had to write this afternoon, then ran off to a meeting, then went out to dinner with friends. I had fun at dinner, but I felt tired from an overload of social interaction and was looking forward to going home where I could decompress. I've had a very active day, and tomorrow will be draining, too.

I'm probably not going to be online tomorrow morning - not until afternoon, most likely. I'll be online over the weekend, but I'll be offline all day Monday.

I need to get ready for bed now, though I'm still wide awake. I won't go to sleep right away, but at least I'll be ready to when I'm tired.

totally forgot

I just realized that not only did I not take my afternoon pills today, I didn't take my morning pills - I didn't even lay them out for the day. I was rushed to get to my interview and ran out of time.

I need to take these pills as prescribed. When I don't, I get symptoms. When I do, I'm good. I was just so rushed today. I'll at least take one dose now.

Today I worked with a friend, and returned home a while ago, exhausted, but it was a productive day. Earlier I planned alot for tonight, but I think I'm going to rest and read a bit. Maybe a little housework later. Big day for tomorrow, though.

Just CI on my evening break at work.  I have a bad headache this evening, and so far pills haven't helped.  I just have to make it through another hour and a bit.

I'm going to try summarizing my progress as a check-in rather than posting my list. I've done a lot today so far, much of it difficult, stressful stuff, though none of it my overdue writing project. But there's a good reason. I had to present something this afternoon so had to prep for that. Now gotta get back to the writing project. I've also been trying a new thing today: I set a timer for 30 mins & promised myself that if when it dinged I was procrastinating, I would engage in a process I've come up with that seems to be helping me stop procrastinating (WHEN I actually go thru the process). I'll post the process on the Questions, Answers, Insights forum. Once the timer dings, I start it again, and repeat continuously thruout the workday. Whenever it dinged, I was working. I took little breaks, but didn't procrastinate.

Hi, all. Didn't procrastinate this morning, but instead dove right in. Then I did start to procrastinate. So here I am, checking in, which really does work: Here's the to-do list:

eat
meditate
email Mom, Debtors Anonymous list
20 minutes on checkbook (with a timer)
project: asking for comments on an article I wrote
    copy article eight times
    write letters (get some addresses)
    made .pdf and CDs of dissertation
    send article and letters
    send CD of diss. to three people
one class
    write quiz key, send to teaching assistants
    take notes on readings, think of quiz questions
20 more minutes on checkbook and spending plan
other class
    fix computer bug for quizzes for other class
    grade quizzes
    grade short papers
    look over feedback on quiz
    take notes on readings
write lectures for both classes

This list takes me into tomorrow, but if for some reason I'm really efficient, I'd love to get it all done today. But it's worth being realistic.
