"During
stressful times, we can rely more heavily on our support systems. Our
friends and groups can help us feel more balanced and peaceful in spite
of our stressful conditions.
Affirming
that the events taking place are a temporarily uncomfortable part of a
good, solid plan can help. We can assure ourselves that we will get
through. We won't be destroyed. We won't crumple or go under.
It helps to go back to the basics to focus on detachment, dealing with feelings, and taking life one day at a time.
Our
most important focus during times of stress is taking care of
ourselves. We are better able to cope.Self-care may not
come as easily during times of stress. Self-neglect may feel more
comfortable. But taking care of us always works.
Today, I will remember that there is no situation that can't be benefited by taking care of myself."

I'm a bit frustrated with a friend I met yesterday for the first time in a few months who was supposed to pay me back a certain amount I had lent him because I'm really tight on funds right now, but he didn't even bring up the topic. And his girlfriend was showing me all the new thing's he'd bought her. Seriously, you'd think he'd have the decency to pay his dues to a struggling close friend who's always been there for him than squander it on summer dresses and smart phones. I wish I was more confrontational so I could kick his arse for it, but I'd already used up all my reserves reminding him twice before that I need the money and he was all assurances and promises. So much for that.
I don't know how to deal with him, I'm tempted to just ignor the whole thing and try to muddle through without the cash. I hate this.

I've taken leave from work today with the goal of demessifying part of my home. Today's focus is:
demessify clothes
That sounds quick and easy, but in my case, it won't be. I'll be glad if I get through half of them today. If I actually manage to get some results and make some changes, I'll probably write some more about the whole situation in my "Demessifying..." thread in the Special Projects forum. Edit: I did spend a lot of time on the task, but didn't get very far.

Glad to be back on here after a long absence. Had a major relapse 10 days ago. Lost 2 days of work.
This a.m. I exercised already. Celebration!
I am committing to:
1. tidying a 4 x 6 foot area of my work space.
2. Calling 12 customers
3. Making a plan with my professional organizer for my next 72 hours.
4. Set up portable tape recorder (Dictaphone type) for car so I am not tempted to make notes or use text svcs while driving.
5. Take 2 boxes and some cushioning to my mom's to pack up dishes
6. lay out clothes for tomorrow's appts.
7. Work 1/2 hour on DA treasury mat'lsThanks for being here!!
