I have a real aversion to anything that pings or rings or beeps and wondered whether anyone had come across an hour glass or in this case a half hour glass (the kind that are sometimes used as egg timers) where you see the sand dribbling from the top glass section to the bottom. I feel that a visual time measure like this would reall help.
