And thank you edge for your quote on action diminishing anxiety. For some reason I am feeling freaked out about some possible new jobs which are quite within my capacity.
Also trying to make some time to spend with my son who is visiting. For now, I will read my emails, make a list and get started.
As often happens to me, the first day after a trip my head is anywhere but at work. In addition, I am traveling again Wednesday to a national conference. I have been working on my contribution to the conference while on vacation, and enjoying it much more than my real job, and today I have spent most of the day emailing back and forth with co-contributors as the preparations come down to the last couple of days. I also had to attend to some divorce-related financial phone calls. I have to get focused so I can quickly get and stay caught up. It cost me a very big effort to get more-or-less caught up before leaving on vacation, and I don't want to backslide. So, even though it's almost 4 PM, I need to hit "reset" and start over for an abbreviated workday now.
Goal 1: 3 work blocks up to 30 minutes max on new things
Goal 2: 2 work blocks up to 30 minutes max on one old case that is turning into my latest millstone
Goal 3: Dinner break, 30 minutes
Goal 4: 2 work blocks up to 30 minutes max
Goal 5: Leave by 8:30 PM
Goal 6: Conference prep at home
Goal 7: Laundry
Goal 8: To bed by 11:30 PM. Last night inexplicably lingered until nearly 1 AM before heading to bed.

Today is a busy day, and I'm having a rough time getting going.
I'll start by making a plan for the week, then check back with today's tasks.
Update 2:45--I'm having a real hard time focusing today, so I'm going to keep the list small: *Presbytery mtg *Start hyb
*Finish rough draft (this isn't done, but I did make significant progress)
*Email room
After 3 weeks of frustration and trying to "fix" my son's cyber school messes/schedule and getting even more messes, I finally stopped,on Thursday and "surrendered'. Worked on self care.
Miracle of miracles this morning at school meeting, all was resolved, some definitely HP interjection because a report that would not have been read, I asked a teacher to read. I was relaxed and some of the things that were said bounced off me. It is ok.
Before PA, I would have "shut down" or "blown up" or "picked up", so this is such progress for me.Preogress not perfection. Thanks PA (ers), still showing up every day,PA has gotten me consitent with showing up every day and now check in with gratitude/meditation buddy every day.
I had a successful install of my software into the first system over the weekend. I'm tired but happy. This week will be a bit less intense because we are not doing any installs this weekend. I'm going to make this a short day, catch up on paperwork, go to a very boring but required class this afternoon, and leave early.
Although I plan for this to be a relaxed catch up kind of day, it will not be a goof off kind of day. I will use my time wisely and leave early to go home and relax, not waste the day and end up staying late to do mundane tasks!

Planning on making it early to work today, can't seem to finish everything on my plate even though I often end up working overtime. Also feeling a bit lost without my ANote to-do. Will just start a notebook list to get back on track.
