Had an unexpected setback at work today. Won't dwell on it, instead I will only list the positive things I did today! My main objectives were accomplished! They were:
† Abstain from eating meat
† Pray the rosary
† Stations of the Cross (on computer--still counts)
WILL DO/DONE List * Wake up at 7:00 * Make the bed * Eat breakfast (Special K) * Take fish oil tabs * Turn OFF icemaker * Empty wastebasket, change liner, and take out the trash * Get to work on time
_ Work on my PROJECT (Worked a full day covering boss's desk and helping with backlog) * Eat meatless lunch _ Buy multivitamins * Check the mail * Cook broccoli with meatless dinner * Drink lots of water * Call J tonite _ Call L (return yesterday's call) * Read from "The WORD among us" * Bed by 11:00 pm
"Father, we praise you for sending your Son and setting us free! Be with us, as you were with Mary, so that we may be as willing as she was to say yes to your plan for our lives!"
"Life by the mile is a trial; by the inch it's a cinch." In the past, we got
into trouble when we thought we had to have our lives mapped out
forever. That just did not work.
We need only deal with the problems and joys of today. If we try to see
too far ahead, we lose touch with the reality of the here and now. Higher Power lets us know what we need to know when we need to know it.
What seems impossible when looked at in total --writing a book, putting the
children through college, abstaining for the rest of our lives --
becomes manageable when worked at step-by-step, day-by-day.
So many of the things we worry about never happen. How much better it is
to concentrate our energies on the real demands and challenges of today,
insignificant as they may seem. When we turn our lives over to our
Higher Power, we trust Him to manage the master plan and to direct us in
the small details of living each day.
Show me, Higher Power, how to best live each day. I leave the years to You.

I don't want everyone to like me; I should think less of myself if some people did. —Henry James
Many of us have learned to control the responses of others by always being
pleasing and charming. Maybe we feel it's better to have others like us
than to take a stand. Maybe we only feel okay about ourselves if others
approve. Some of us have certainly learned we have a sense of power and
control over people when they like us. Many of us have carried our
people-pleasing behavior so far that we have really sold our souls for
the applause of others.
Are there problems or tensions in our lives from trying to please someone?
Is fear of criticism preventing us from taking an action that would be
good for us? Have we neglected our inner voice by listening so hard to
others? As we get stronger, healthier, more fully into our manhood, not
everyone will like us. Some people will be angry; others, not
interested. Once we have faced our own life crises, we are not so
dependent on having everyone's approval.
I pray for Higher Power's blessing upon the man or woman I'm becoming. I will let go of this need to please everyone.

Putting it out: anyone in USA that wants to buddy up to show up, that would be great. I know me, when the time comes to call in sick at work, I will not make a check in phone call or go on-line, it's a closed matter, but if I'm in contact with someone daily, and they're in need of the same or similar help, there's a better chance, I think.
Wishing you all happy travels today!!

really stressed out. Annoyed that my mom's laptop isnt working and I left mine at hime. On an old desktop and I only get the text on the forums. Verrry annoyed.
Not much on the list today . . . I take it fairly easy on Fridays :-)
Today:
- a little more internet research for final assignment
- meet Dave for coffee at lunch
- remembering to take home the research I have pulled here at the office to read on the weekend
- wine and Greek food after work :-) Doubt I'll have trouble with this one!
No improvement today in getting to the gym earlier but I got to work earlier because traffic is better on Friday so I'll count that as a win.
I worked *really* hard yesterday and got all my stuff ready for this weekend. I'm proud of myself (pats self on back). It was easy - why? Clearly defined tasks and a hard deadline. This inspires me to do a better job of setting myself clearly defined tasks and deadlines when the job doesn't do it for me.
Today has been busy so far with meetings and phone calls and I haven't even made my todo list but Imma do it right nao.
On a personal note, today is my mother-in-law's 94th birthday. Happy Birthday, Grandma P!

Not so good yesterday again. I didn't get the article written that I wanted to. I got started on it, and finished some other tasks, but I would much prefer to do better. I'll give it another try today...

Just wondering how that would work? Via e-mail?
I'm a little confused by "I will not make a check in phone call or go on-line"?
I don't have an issue showing up at work as I'm a student ( and class is an oasis from mom-hood for me), but sending support :)
Hi ((((Katia))))
Thanks so much for your response, support & question. I'm thinking phone & texting. I've done it in the past, & it's really helped both of us.
((((BIG HUGS))) to you & Connor!!!! Sorry to hear about stress, laptop, etc. Read your posts and I'm with you all the way & cheering!!
